The paperback version is not shown on this website - The ISBN is 9780143789024. Although the school principal, Mr Sternblast, has not succeeded in getting rid of the fabulous teacher, Mr Bambuckle, he has managed to bring back and engage a new deputy principal, Miss Frost! Mr Bambuckle makes arrangements to take the kids out to camp with the cantankerous Canteen Carol - Interestingly, he tells her to provide for the kids and TWO grown-ups. This is because he happens to know that Miss Frost will gatecrash the camp! More wild adventures follow but the strange thing is that Mr Bambuckle seems to like Miss Frost and is doing all he can to melt her icy character. Also, one of the kids has a grudge and it requires Mr Bambuckle's skills to thwart the student's attempts to cause trouble but he wants to win this kid around too. Will he succeed. Well, I guess we'll have to read the sequel when it is released: "Mr Bambuckle's Remarkables on the Lookout."
This book is about a class going to a camp in Australia to have a bit of fun camping outside with nature and fresh air out of the urban life there are 14 kids in total they all have there liked and dislikes most of them dislike "homework" besides that the story was really funny. 14 kids work together and have as much fun as they can but one problem they have is there principle is really moody and not very nice she yells at them constantly. Anyways Mr Bambuckle's is really happy and very nice to the kids.
School camp would be fabulous with their favourite teacher Mr Bambuckle. The class couldn’t believe it when the Deputy Principal arrives on the first night. She starts by getting Mr Barbuckle to fill in all the forms he is required to. That takes hours. Luckily the class cook dinner and they all have something to eat. The deputy Principal sets a mean task the next day. Who does she want punished? How can the other classmates save their friend? I enjoyed the humour and the changes in font. Recommended for Middle Grade and reluctant readers.
We loved this book just as much as the first Mr Bambuckle book and my nine year old was in fits of laughter many times. It’s nice to come across a junior fiction series that is funny without resorting to toilet humour, where the teacher is actually nice and clearly loves his students and with just a little bit of magic. Being an Australian author is a bonus too. #ozfiction I would highly recommend these for age 6-12
I received this book as an ARC from Sourcebooks in exchange for an honest review. Opinions and thoughts expressed in this review are completely my own.
I have always loved these types of books. If I could describe the Mr. Bambuckle series in a few words it would be Miss Nelson meets the wayside school with 100% chaos. This book was so much fun to read that I had to share it with some of our elementary school patrons and they could not get enough of it. I know this will be such a big hit with ALL of our patrons and community.
We will consider adding this title to our JSeries collection at our library. That is why we give these books. 5 stars!
I thought this book was a pretty good addition to the series, however, not as good as the others. It was different from the others, because it was in a new scene. I gave this four stars because the ending was not that good.
