In a future where the desire for self-preservation is extreme, the greatest soldiers are the ones abducted from the past during the height of the nation’s suicide epidemic. There is a rogue black hole approaching the Orion Arm of the Milky Way and it should collide with the Solar System by the end of the millennium. The date for the extermination of the human race is set in stone and there’s nothing that anyone can do to prevent it. There is however a way to rescue the people of Earth before it’s too late, but it requires the involvement of someone who’s willing to risk their life in the process. That’s not something anyone’s willing to do in the future because quite frankly, suicidal tendencies and thoughts aren’t a plague of humanity anymore. Hunter leapt from an eighty-foot bridge in 2018 only to find herself suddenly alive in an orbital ship or space station. She and her new friend Mercy are searching for answers from some highly secretive people. They soon discover that they’ve been given the weapons necessary in order to change history and to save the human race. Unfortunately, they may need to sacrifice everything in the process. EDITORIAL "McElhaney's story telling is deft, well-paced, and with an ear for conversation" ~ Akron Beacon Journal Book Review "The author does a good job of sucking you into the moment and feeling as if you are the main character. The technology and scenarios are realistic enough for this sci fi fan and if you like a good storyteller, Mr. McElhaney knows how to do it." ~Top 50 Amazon Reviewer, Hall of Fame Reviewer, and Vine Voice Michael Gallagher Given 5.0 out of 5 stars over 100 times on Amazon from various readers of the Mystic Saga!

Scott's first novel, Mommy's Choice, was originally published in paperback under the pseudonym Scott Curtis. In under a year on the bookshelves, that novel won the National Christian Choice Book Award for romantic suspense. When Scott moved to a different publisher and started making his novels available to Kindle readers, he returned to his real name and reduced the prices to the absolute minimum allowed by Amazon.
Scott McElhaney currently resides in Ohio with his wife and two sons. He's a Desert Shield veteran of the US Navy, having served on the USS South Carolina CGN-37. Although his books didn't become available to Kindle readers until December 2011, over 250,000 digital copies have been purchased to date and he still maintains a position in the top 100 worldwide in the "Sci-fi Space Opera" category.

Great tale of time travel about two women whose sole purpose is to take over an alien spacecraft and rescue some people who've been abducted. They soon discover that the ship isn't really alien at all. Their purpose then changes quickly as they are now called upon to save the world. I love how Hunter doesn't seem up for the task originally and how quickly she grows into her role

Time travel space opera

3.85 stars - I love that this story has a mixture of space opera, time travel and future dystopian elements. I think it is a fascinating premise, although I wished the story was a bit longer - so that there is time for character developments and how they come to confirm the information of the end of the world. This way they are able to plan properly.

nicely written, easily readable space opera. this novella had a brilliant concept (so much so that once I found it I couldn't stop thinking about it until I read it) and combined elements of sci-fi that I thoroughly enjoy: space opera, time travel & dystopia.
my only wish is that it was longer so the ending could feel more high stakes and so we got to know the characters better
