Kit is back. And she’s still stuck playing her ridiculous elf dancer character.

After leading a group out of the full submersion video game, Chronicles of Retha, Kit knew she couldn’t leave the remaining players to suffer their fate alone. So she returned to the game with the goal to get everyone out.

Solus Miles has always preferred solo playing, but Kit’s return changes everything. He vows to partner with her fully, allowing her to use him as her shield and even her mascot.

There’s just one problem.

Forcing a system wide logout requires the defeat of the end game boss character. A boss who hasn’t ever been beaten before.

When the top guilds are still skeptical Kit turns to those whom others overlook: the non-playable characters controlled by the game mechanics.

But Retha has changed.

Monsters, events, and quests have shifted, complicating her task. The journey across an altered Retha tests even Kit’s veteran knowledge and strains her leadership like never before.

Can she leverage her NPC allies and convince the other players to join her?

The SECOND AGE OF RETHA series features an epic fantasy video game world inspired by Tolkien’s Middle Earth with the adventure and stakes of Sword Art Online and other “stuck in a game” stories. If you love humorous and magical adventures with MMORPG elements download a sample or buy it today!

This book is amazing! I read it, then immediately re-read the entire series including this one! It was that good!

I was worried that after the end of the last book I wouldn't like this as much. A large part of Kit's team didn't return with her to Retha. Things would change. I wasn't sure I'd like it.

Well, I loved it, and I think this might even be my favorite of the series so far? I'm not sure. I love them all so dearly.

Miles is in this book more, which is awesome because he is awesome. The other new characters are so much fun, though when I was re-reading the series I realized a bunch of them really aren't all that new. They've been in the background the whole time. I loved Alistair! And Noir! And Trash Panda is the best!

Seriously loved this book and I can't wait for the next book in this series! I'm not even a gamer, and this series almost makes me want to be a gamer. That's how good these books are.

I’m way too invested in this now

I was super excited when I heard this book was coming out today. I’ve been waiting since November and I am VERY attached to Kit and Miles. This book has great banter, great strategic movements, and I’m very upset that there’s going to be a wait for the next book (I want it now, I must know what happens!)

Edit: I've now read it three times in a row.

I recently read books one and two in the Second Age of Retha series, about a month ago, when book one was free. I really, really enjoyed them. So naturally, I was excited for book three! (Like, crazy squeals and preordering excited.)

But at any rate, I just finished the book, and it. Was. AMAZING!

Look, I've been a fan of K.M. Shea (K.M. Sohma's fantasy alter-ego) for years, and have read almost everything she's ever written. So I knew that The Revived was going to be good! It completely exceeded all of my expectations, and I cannot wait for book four!

Kit is freaking awesome, for the record. She's insanely good at strategizing, and she's hilarious. I've loved seeing her grow into a leader, and make up crazy plans that end up working, and build great relationships with the other characters. Kit is my favorite character in the books, and she should be as the main character.

But second (by, like, a millimeter) comes Solus Miles. Miles and Kit are my new OTP, but Miles is a strong, cool character in his own right. He's hilariously broody, entirely too obsessed with leveling up, and has a freaking DRAGON! I mean, how cool is that?!

Oooh, speaking of Sinistre, Miles' dragon? It made me think of Pax. Y'know, I didn't like Pax before this book, but he came through in a moment of need, and I like him more now. I can't wait for Kit to get to the level cap, so that they can kick some serious a** together! That will be epic.

Not to mention, Miles and Kit are pledged (which made me die of laughter and happiness in this book). The slow burn romance is wonderful, and I can't wait to see them admit their feelings for one another...probably at the end of the next book, or in the last one. So it might take a while. But I can still reread this series for kicks!

Okay, in terms of the other characters, I liked the occasional real world bits with Luther, Vic, Cookie, and Axel. They're awesome, and I look forward to everyone reuniting. As for the in-Retha side characters, I LOVE Noir. He just gives me life, and he is honestly one of my favorites! But Noir aside, Alastair is great, too. She's so exuberant and awesome, and I laugh or smile at every scene she's in, same with Noir. And most of the characters in the book, of course.

In terms of plot, because I just rambled about characters for about five paragraphs, it was seriously kicka**! The book was excellently paced, with great fight scenes, an epic raid battle at the end, and lost of other awesome stuff.

I one hundred percent recommend this series. The only other thing in this vein that I've ever seen was the anime Sword Art Online, which is pretty similar in concept, so I was almost completely new to this, especially as someone who doesn't play video games. But this series is incredible. The video game jargon is well explained and integrated, and I really enjoy reading about NPCs, leveling up, skills (swear proficiently made me die in this book - the made up swears in the pirate scene killed me!), and armor, just to name a few. If you enjoy adventure fantasy, then this series is something that I think you would enjoy. 5 stars, and give me book four!

This was a lot of fun! And the romance is moving in the right direction, too! I seriously look forward to seeing Pax and Kit team up (and seeing what some of the cryptic comments by the NPCs mean about ), as well as more about Kit commandeering the guilds to fight the final boss! It's all really exciting stuff, and I'm (as I knew I would be) sad to have to wait until next fall. 5 stars! Also, ditto to everything in my initial review!

For Gamers and Non-Gamers Alike

I love Kit: her humor, her ability to curse without using swear words, and the way she brings people together. I loved getting to know Miles Solus better in this story, and starting to see a crush developing between him and Kit. He is amazing at letting her lead, and supporting her in any way he can.
The Revived was longer than the Luckless or The Desperate Quest. I wanted a little more action. Overall, this book was about Kit gathering allies. It was necessary, but I am on pins and needles waiting for Kit and her crew to get out of the game (and for her and Solus to get together)!
My favorite things in this story were the pirates, the snarkiness of certain characters, and the growing friendship between Kit and Solus.

Content: clean (no language, mild video game violence)

Ahhhhhh, I love this story and these characters SO STINKING MUCH!!!!!! The story just keeps getting better and better and more and more intense and convoluted and HOW IN THE WORLD ARE THEY GONNA GET OUT OF THIS MESS?!?!?! 😱😱😱

Kit keeps growing as a leader and what she has to go through and deal with at times was just like goodness how much can she take before cracking and she just powers on like a freaking boss—she is awesome and strong yet compassionate and basically everything I love in a character! I really, really like Solus Miles too—he acts like a tough guy but is just a thoughtful softy who is really warming up to Kit and her friends and I am living for it! Not to mention he and Kit are super cute together… *hint, hint, you two* 😍🥰😍🥰 (No I’m not being Riko at all why are you looking at me like that?)

And while some of the characters are from the first two books this time a LOT of new characters were added and at first I was worried I wouldn’t be able to keep them all straight, but Kitty writes wonderful characters and I ended up having no problems at all—I especially love Noir and Alistair. 🥰 Even characters from the first two books who aren’t “in game” anymore (keeping super vague because spoilers!) had a part which I was SOOO happy about as I have grown so fond of them all!

I am so stinking excited for the next book! I needs it now, precious! By far one of my new all time favorite series! 🥰🥰

Right, so when my phone dinged the moment the book was downloaded onto my phone at exactly 12:02 am this morning, I started this hilarious adventure with Kit, Solus Miles, Riko, Prowl and their many allies...

Lots of things makes more sense as the story continues, but the 'Swearing Profanity' skill... it makes sense... you will understand once you get there! I would have to say, my favorite parts are when she swears in the most "original" way and her growing relationship with Solus - their bantering almost made me laugh so hard that I almost fell off my bed. Oh, and her bantering with Pax... Lmao...enough said right?!

There will be many new characters that will make you laugh, confuse, and even probably piss you off, but don't worry you will still see many fun, familiar characters from the previous books that will help in there mission to save everyone.

Hopefully the author will start the next book of the Second Age of Retha soon, so I can lose even more sleep. (btw read the book in about 4 and a half hours & had to be up at 5:45am...)

A REREAD FROM ANOTHER TIME: I so badly want to write a full, helpful, comprehensive review for this book (and this whole series T_T) but perhaps that'll have to wait until my next reread. For now, just one word: NOIR.

3.5★
This was the best one so far. Simply because we got more interaction between the FMC and MMC -I’m reading for the romance!

Although, I really do love the world building and gaming concept. The author really pulls off writing a lighthearted, funny story (I chuckled quite a few time reading this, which is rare for me) whilst also managing to engage you in the stakes and fates of the characters.

I was super disappointed to learn -when I reached the end of this book- that there’s two more in the series that are not yet released. I have another few months/ years until I can complete this story *sobs*.

Overall cute -solid 3.5★- series that’s kept me entertained and lent to my escapism addiction.

The third installment of A.M. Sohma's (K.M. Shea) book is just as good as the first two. Though Kits cast of companions has layered as some of her friends remain in the real world, theyre still in the story and trying to help. We get to see way more of Retha and learn more about the way players interact with each other in the game. Retha itself has changed in the wake of Malingus's defeat and Kit and her friends and all the players of Retha have to face them together if they want to log off. Plus Solid Miles and Kits relationship begins to transform.

I read this in one sitting. Im obsessed with this series and with all the characters. Sure it has it's flaws and there were som plotholes but who cares when you're having this much fun!?

This is honestly my favorite litrpg to date, and just more confirmation that what irks me most about the genre is the way it's so often written with the male gaze. More female written litpgs pls!

If you like romance, fantasy and computer games as separate things please just try this series. I promise you won't be disapointed.

the Revived had a lot to live up to - the ending to the Desperate Quest was, for me, really strong, so this book had to knock it out of the park to top the killer final battle and cliffhanger end of the last book. and perhaps i’m biased here, because i did come into it with such high standards, but it didn’t quite manage to meet them.

don’t get me wrong, i absolutely enjoyed the book! but for much of it, it didn’t really shake off the feeling of being filler. fun, highly enjoyable, and necessary filler, given that everything done now is in service of preparation for the big boss battle to come, and if it took two whole books to prepare to take down malignus, having anything less for valdis would be underwhelming (given that he’s supposed to be exponentially tougher). but even knowing it was necessary, it just... felt a bit rote to me until the elba storyline kicked in. maybe it was because the first books also had a “travel to these places, gain these peoples’ trust” element to it, and we’d already seen several of the locations before?

whatever caused that feeling in the beginning of the book, it ratcheted down the tension for me some, which was a shame. i also thought the book could have done with a bit more editing, or at least a more thorough beta-read by a second set of eyes - there were a couple of spelling errors, and some continuity errors (i remember off the top of my head a character being identified as a naiad at one point in the book and then as a dryad later on). all the new characters introduced at once were difficult to keep track of as well - on my first read-through i could only remember who two or three people in kit’s new traveling party were because there were so many of them.

when i list all my nitpicks out like that, it sounds like i didn’t enjoy this book at all, which absolutely isn’t true! i’ve reread it twice now, if we’re confessing our truths. i had an amazing time reading it, and retha remains one of my top series when i just need to turn off my brain and escape somewhere really, really fun. the entire elba sequence in the second half of this book was a masterwork of moving parts and sucked me in completely. i adored that we saw more of miles’ personality, noir was so great, and that we’re seeing glimpses into what the party from the last two books is doing to help from the outside? i’m also completely confident that all the buildup in this book that hasn’t gone anywhere yet - the “filler”, as i lovingly referred to it here - is going to have an incredible payoff later on in the series. i mean, the trips to the white veil nunnery were actually buildup into such a masterful twist in the last battle that i’m still in awe over it?

but, unfortunately, right now the filler just feels like filler, and i don’t review on faith alone. the Revived was a really fun book with a killer city siege battle sequence, but to me it had a couple of flaws that kept it from being perfect.

OH MY GOODNESS THIS BOOK WAS MAGNIFICENTLY, WONDERFULLY, AMAZINGLY, FANTASTIC!!!

I’ve often found that as a series goes on, it will become trite or lame, not so with this series. Action packed, but not repetitive, funny, but not dumb.

The reactions of Solus Miles and Pax when Kit returns to Retha were absolutely fantastic, especially Miles’. I want to go on and on about this, but I don’t want to just fill this up with hidden spoilers. But I absolutely, totally love Solus Miles, and I can’t wait to see how his and Kit’s relationship ends.

Noir, a new character, was a ton of fun, and I we get to know Alistair (the Lady Knight who has shown up at least twice) much better. She’s a hoot. Although it was a little hard to keep all the new characters straight at times, I think Ms. Sohma did a very good job of not over loading us with new info. Oh, and getting to reconnect with some of the old NPCs was cool. Especially King Brasil.
And the in-game GMs! It took me like 5 seconds to remember who Halbryt was, but when I did, I laughed so hard I cried…literally!

It was a little disappointing to not have the old team, but then again I didn't mind because it meant they were all permanently safe. And Riko and Prowl were there.

Pirates! I mean come one, who doesn't love them? And Ms. Sohma puts such a fun twist on everything she writes. Although I totally didn’t expect the twist that she put on them.

One of the things I like the most about this series, is that while they are very light-hearted and good for laughs, there is an undercurrent of real fear and desperation that drives their actions and that gives the story a seriousness that adds another dimension to their laughter and jokes.

I absolutely give this book a five star rating, but I don’t recommend it to anyone under 15.

P.S. I really, really, REALLY need Solus Miles’ house!

Absolutely AmAzIng!

Recently I haven't been reading on Amazon, and I try to limit the number of books I spend money on, but this series was incredibly worth it. I bought all of the books and read them within a span of a couple days. I absolutely loved them and cannot wait for the next book drop. I am on the edge of my seat and will be over the moon when the next book is available for me to spend my money on.

You know that feeling when you finish a book, and you’re happy, but at the same time so sad because it’s over. And the rest of the series isn’t out yet! This is the feeling I had when I finished The Revived. It was so good, but there are no other books out yet. I can totally understand how authors have a lot on their plate though. I’m just happy that I got to read this one!
“The Revived” is the third book in the Second Age of Retha series. It picks off right after Kit comes back to Retha. She has to figure out a way to defeat the end game boss character which will log everyone out. Unfortunately, none of the top guilds want to partner with her, but fortunately, she has Solus Miles! Who is basically the best player in the game, and also, Kit’s pledged. After not believing that Kit could defeat Malignus, he is willing to do whatever she needs to get them out. Kit also tries to get the help of the non-player characters, but will it be enough to convince the players to join?
“The Revived” has Prowl and Riko back as minor characters who are as funny as ever, but there are quite a few new ones. These new characters include Noir who is a healer and hilarious. His dialogue is so funny, and his personality combined with the fact that he's a healer makes him even funnier, like threatening not to heal someone even though they’re on his team because they’re a jerk and an idiot. Another new character is Alistair, who has an incredibly entertaining short about them that I would definitely recommend. Alistair is a knight who is in the nicest way possible, insane. Just imagine the most cheerful, reckless, and charismatic person ever, multiply it by 10, and then you get Alistair. She also has plenty to say about the fact that she is so much taller than her guildmaster, Gared.
Additionally, “The Revived” includes a lot more of Solus Miles which I love. It’s so cute to see him and Kit together, and I have to say that I need their fake romance to become real. But, even for a romantic like myself, I really like how Kit is determined not to let her romance with Miles distract her from getting everyone out of the game. K.M. Shea does such a great job of making a great female protagonist who is strong, but still has plenty of insecurities to make her relatable.
This book is also super clean with zero actual cursing, but some very creative fake cursing. Kit can’t swear in the game, so she has to substitute some hilarious child-appropriate curses. It’s also really clean in the romantic area especially because they are not a real couple, but they should be! Just a warning though this is not the last book in the series. It’s a five book series, and the fourth book might come out in 2021. But, I would still definitely recommend this book to games and non gamers alike.

The Revived it the third book of the Chronicles of Retha series and I loved it. After the second book was released last September, I was pumped for the next and became extremely antsy when A.M. postponed the release. And, while this book did not go as I had planned, it was very good.
The Revived deals with the new mechanics of Retha’s world which occurred after the climax in book two, The Desperate Quest. Kit, Rico, Prowl, and Solus Miles are back, as are a slew of other entertaining characters, including a few that were named by A.M.’s readers in a competition. This cast of characters is very large, but it works with the setting and the situations they are in. This book also had more gamer jargon, which I had to look up later.
This one has a lot more politics and delicate situations, which slowed the book down and made it longer than normal. I had the idea that since it was going to be so long (A.M. really made a big deal about it being longer than normal when she expanded the series and pushed back the release date) there would be a lot more action and movement. I’m not condemning it, I get why it happened, but I wish that there had been more leveling and experimenting with Kit’s upgrades. Like what happened to the Scimitars of Sorrow, the Holy Hard Candy, or her poisoning skills? Maybe I was expecting more action than careful maneuvering, but this book seemed to leave a lot of things out that I wanted to know more about. I really, really wanted her to level more, especially since there were several hints about greatness for her once she reaches level cap. I guess I wanted this book to go in a different direction.
Even though I was more interested in other parts of Retha, I loved the new cast of characters. Fame and Fortune cracked me up, as well as did Noir and Pax, or Paco as Kit sometimes calls him. The tensions between all of the guilds and characters felt so real (maybe a little *too* real) and they made sense. A.M. did a great job of making the tensions and the worry seem real. She also started developing a Solus Miles+Kit romance, which was well done. We got to see a lot more of Solus this book, and I really enjoyed seeing who he is and how he thinks.
There were numerous jokes and laughs, which I am looking forward to reading again and I’m excited for the next books to come out. This is definitely a book that I will re-read again and again, not only because it is well written, but because I love Retha. The clean humor gets me, as do the interesting and life-like characters. I’m really looking forward to more tales of Kit and her friends, hopefully sooner than later.

This is an amazing sequel, sheer delight from beginning to end. I love this series.

Pax, besides his entertaining sarcastic replies, also drops a very interesting hint for Kit’s future potential as if I am not dying here already to read a sequel. There are two fun additional NPC characters, although perhaps there’s no need to speak in code, I see that other reviewers already spilled the beans. Fame and Fortune’s interactions with players are quite something to behold, however, the hilarity reaches a whole new level when they get to interact with their fellow NPC… Poor poor Paco, LOL.

I don’t know who I like more new NPC characters or another new player character Noir and his pet. These are my two new favourite sets of characters. Pirates were great too, and Alistair, she’s technically not a new character though. Alistair is an interesting offbeat female cavalry knight player who blurts out the most hilarious comments at times, especially when her guild master Gared is present. I think, she’s a curious mixture of Cookie’s and Gil’s character traits – she has Cookie’s cheer and sunny positivity while at the same time being casually violent. To monsters at least. A bit of a daredevil too. Also, she’s gallant, helpful and polite like Gil. Unexpected moments of eccentricity though, are all uniquely Alistair. All in all we have a really fun menagerie of players and NPCs in The Revived to spoil any reader looking for adventure and humour; never a dull moment here. This book has a great dialogue that's very amusing and besides that I love when I find comic descriptions that wouldn’t translate in movies like those for instance that make a bit of fun of Pax when he acts like a poseur. It was also great seeing Kit’s swearing skills finally usefully applied to a very fine effect indeed; and here I’d been worried for a bit that they were only a piece of frivolous fun for us readers.

The storyline, action and group dynamics were super exciting and well done. Also, I am really loving how Kit’s and Solus relationship progresses. Slow burn romance - bring it on. I’ll admit, I am very fussy about my romantic fare, for me less is more, and preferably it should be done with subtlety and handled just right, like here I’d say. This is probably only one in hundred or so book relationships where I love everything so far and want to read more about Kit and Solus.

The Second Age of Retha series is a really super fun read for me and if I were a poetess I would rewrite ‘These are all my favourite things’ just to show this. I am very happy I have now three books to re-read and I cannot wait for the next in the series.

The continuing adventures of Kit, Solus Miles, and the rest of their party as they struggle to escape from a malfunctioning full-immersion video game.
Kit already led a group of adventurers out in The Desperate Quest, and she's been sent back in to rescue the other trapped players due to her burgeoning leadership ability and unusual strategies. She's still stuck as a joke of a character, which means she has her work cut out for her getting the scared and combative guilds and individual players to respect her. She also has to use the new option of allying with the non-player characters in the game to her advantage--it will take all of them to defeat the game's ultimate bad and escape with their lives.
Aside from slowly earning her fellow players' trust that Kit can do the impossible, the biggest character development is the slow-burn sort-of romance between Kit and Solus Miles--about whom I am becoming increasingly curious. He's one of the game's best solo players and seems genuinely nice despite not particularly enjoying being around people. He is steadily blossoming around Kit, who is the only one who doesn't treat him with awe, showing a buried snarky sense of humor and a fondness for hugs. Who is he in real life? How old is he? What does he do when not playing? We've gotten no hints so far; all we know about him is who he is in the game, which seems to encompass his whole identity and personality. Yet he's giving off strong hints the oblivious Kit is ignoring that he's into her (and not because she's a hot elf character with a bare midriff) and wants to meet her (and maybe date her) when they finally get out of the game. Their pretend in-game engagement has started to look suspiciously like there's real emotion behind it, which makes me want more than ever for them to get out so they can figure out who they are to each other when not in a life-or-death scenario.
Very much looking forward to the next book.

This book was amazing, but I knew it would be! After I read the sample I recognized that I needed to go back and re-read the previous books so I could properly appreciate everything, that makes Retha so great. I had forgotten Riko, Prowl, and why I used to like Solus Miles. And I am glad I did because this book was marvelous, and picks right back up were The Desperate Quest leaves off. :)

You see the same humor in The Revived as before, even though the stakes are higher than ever. You get new characters, (a brash werewolf, an overeager knight, a grumpy healer, and a trash panda to name a few), which were enjoyable AND you see more of Solus Miles which was awesome! (Spoiler: you even get more from his POV!) Even though Vic, Cookie, Luther, Axel, and Gil are basically MIA they still make a couple of brief appearances throughout the book so you know they haven't forgotten about Kit and her crew. There was a couple of foreshadows that have me particularly excited for the upcoming books.

Only sad I have to wait for the next book!

By the middle of this book, I was seriously questioning whether Kit and Miles were just going to be professional colleagues for the rest of their lives. A polite handshake once they get out and then never speak to each other again. That's how disinterested they seem, despite him clearly being set up as a romantic interest.

There are lots more characters introduced, and it was difficult for me to keep them all straight, even though they were in Kit's personal party. The context around some characters was sidelined in favor of describing them by class, so I have no idea who among those characters were affiliated with whom or what their individual motivations might be. They felt like a pick-up-group instead of members of guilds helping out with a guild officer also in the group.

The politics were more frustrating than interesting. As a rule, I love a good political story, but this did not hit that sweet spot for me.

In spite of all of this, I remain obsessed with finding out what happens next. The fight scenes stick with me, and I keep imagining what might happen. Flaws and all, this set of books has my attention.

This is book 3 of (proposed) 5 of a series that begins with The Luckless and is followed by The Desperate Quest. Each book ends in a logical place and there is no cliff hanger ending pulling you into the next book, but nothing is finally resolved in any of these books therefore they are more like a chapter in the overall story arc. The LitRPG elements are present but not overwhelming in the story. They add character and flavor to this story of a misplaced protagonist. The quest line is appealing and the character is engaging as are the supporting cast. This could easily be a good anime or even miniseries in the same vein as Ready Player One or Sword Art Online. The story is definitely a young adult or teen rated story. I particularly enjoyed the Swear Proficiently life skill. I can't remember the exact phrasing but something about bungling unholy spreadsheet of excel. I also would like to know what the Holy Hard Candy recipe does. Somehow I think it will be necessary to complete the last quest. My biggest gripe? I wished that I'd decided to try this series when it was complete. Now I have to wait at least one to two years for the author to write the next two books.

I almost cried when I reached the end of this book and realized it wasn't actually the end and the characters are all still stuck in the video game. And then realized that there are going to be 3 more books and the next one doesn't come out for another year. Why did I rush through and stay up too late reading these when I have years?

I'm too invested in this series and these characters and I'm going to have to work hard not to think about what happens to them next.

Sohma (Shea) is amazing at using video game stereotypical characters and still revealing their true real-life natures underneath. I love them all. And despite it being a character-driven book, the plot is exciting and fast-paced, the setting is descriptive, and I'm hooked.

It's a mark of how good she is at writing that someone like me, who has never played any video games let alone a MMORPG, can understand what's going on and can now confidently talk about things like NPCs, aggro, leveling, and DPS.

First of all, holy heck. I've been a fan of K.M Shea for a year or two now and love her magiford series with all my heart. After reading up to the present, I had an itch for her writing. Then I saw she had these works under a different pen name. I loved the premise as I love video games, and I instantly fell in love with the world. You know how they say the person who leasts want power is the best for that position? That's kit for you. She has so much experience, but she has no leadership experience, yet her companions push her and reassure her every time. Truly the found family and community not just in the direct side characters but in the resulting rallying efforts. I can't wait for the next book! (It's coming but doesn't have a confirmed date)
No doubt I'll devote it in one day. Thus, series will go under the 'Books that made me feel incredible feelings and changed my life' tab. Thank you, Kitty, for all you do and pour into your books.

4.8⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️(this is my review for the overall series)
I honestly wasn't sure how much I was going to like this series. I had heard good things about it ( clean, funny, and a good fantasy series, all of which are wins in my book), but the characters were stuck in a fantasy game? There was a strong chance it would be cheesy and kinda juvenile. However, That was actually not the case! I actually really enjoyed this series and binged it in like 1 1/2 days haha
I loved all the characters, the plot was a vibe, and the whole ship between Kit and Miles was adorable.
ANYWAYYY I can indeed confirm that this is a pretty clean, funny, very enjoyable fantasy series! I very much do recommend and will be reading the next book when it comes out!
(Speaking of the next book, Ms Sohma I shall be in agony til I get my hands on it, please have compassion on us poor souls)

Captivating, humorous story

Kit returns to Retha, planning to unite the guilds and free the players who are trapped in the game. But due to infighting between players and fear for the future, she has her work cut out for her.

I loved every minute of "The Revived," and if you love a humorous action story, then this is definitely a perfect read for you. Kit's sense of humor and her interactions with other players kept me laughing through the whole book. Though it is a LitRPG novel, Sohma writes in simplified terms that make the story feel less like a video game and more like a standard action story. You don't need to be a gamer to enjoy this tale, just a reader looking for a new adventure. I give it a full 5 stars and can't wait for the next book!

So... the next one does not have a release date yet and that’s driving me nuts.

But that’s okay. I’d wait for years and still be just as excited to read another KM Shea, oh wait sorry, an AM Sohma book as right now.

This one was amazing. I laughed so much (and cooed over Luther’s kid) and loved the story line. I love the world of Retha even more.

I’m so happy we saw more of Miles. He’s great. I love that overgrown butterfly as well. And the rest of the crew.

But even without the tattoo on her cheek, Kit is one of my favourite heroines ever. She is awesome.

Enough rambling. I recommend. 100%. As always.

(And ashamed that my review is so late instead of being the day of. What kind of bookdragon am I?)

The three books were amazing, with a balance of everything including action, a little drama, comedy, fantasy and a good amount of romantic and cute moments between Solus Miles and Kit. With each book the chemistry between the main couple keeps increasing and I love that. Also, you don't even have to be a gamer or know about it to read these books. The books are great and easy to follow with hilarious and unique characters including the protagonist and her unusual gift of cursing profisiantly lol. It is an unique read, a must read indeed. Can't wait for the next book! The author never fails her readers all her stories are amazing including ALL her stories as K.M. Shea.
So if you haven't read her other books go and do so, you don't know what you're missing.
