Vintor crossed the universe to save the human race, except things didn't go quite as planned. He awoke to find himself imprisoned in a human stronghold, fighting against the drugs they used to subdue him. That’s where he found her, his enemy and his only salvation. Working for a secret branch of the government had taken its toll on Maya, but there was no way out, not if she wanted to hold back Armageddon and protect everyone she loved. The beast of a red man from an unknown race who showed up on her operating table only highlighted what she’d fought to repress—she couldn’t spend another day in this living hell. When her own people served her up like a sacrificial lamb, Maya squeezed her eyes shut and waited for death’s release as the demonic alien pinned her to the wall. She never expected to find redemption in the arms of a captive alien or a love so strong she was willing to take on the world to free them both. Getting lost in the embrace of her warrior was a wonderful plight. Warrior’s Plight picks up shortly after Vintor and Ashtoret land on Earth and runs concurrent to Warrior’s Purpose, Cadi Warriors 5.
Caution – This book has adult content and may have triggers for some. This story features a scene where Vintor, while drugged out of his mind, mates Maya.
Writing is my hobby. As a child, I had a hard time learning to read, so anything I took an interest in was deemed acceptable. I have always enjoyed fairy tales, the older unsanitized versions, as well as the modern ones, mythology, science fiction, action and romance. As I read, my mind wanders, spinning its own tales. So, I figured I’d share my ramblings with you. The books I write contain little snippets from my life. I leave it to you to decide which scenes are fact, fiction, or a bit of both. I am far braver and bolder than is likely sensible, so my heroines are just as gutsy. I'd probably be categorized as an adrenalin junky. My life has been an adventure. I've done archaeology in the hot sun, am well versed with power tools, took Tae Kwon Do in college, have ridden on a Harley with a dark stranger, but never met an alien, vampire or shifter, that I know of. My stories are tawdry, feature a heroine who is gifted in some way, and will always end happily ever after. It is my opinion this is meant to be entertainment, and a depressing ending is not entertainment. Real life offers enough depressing crap. However, I have been called dark. My apologies for my horrific grammar. It is something I struggle with. It is probably connected to the slow reading thing. Believe me people have tried. I truly hope that my fairy tales make up for it.
This book is paired with book 5, which I read when it came out. As with #5, the story lacks the motivations of the first 4 books set on the Cadi homeworld. The adventure aspects are exciting and well detailed, but the romance was weak.
Several new seeds are planted here for future books which are intriguing at this point.
I will continue with the series in hopes that the earlier strengths will return.
Book 6 in the Cadi Warrior series by Stephanie West.
To fully enjoy this book and this series I highly recommend starting with the first and reading in consecutive order. There is a lot of story in this series, each book develops and add to the one before creating a super massive world that is vivid, dangerous and wonderful..... and this book catapults the series as far as I’m concerned catapults this series in to a whole realm of possibilities.
This is Vintors story... and it’s gonna be so freaking hard because there is so much going on... and it’s so freaking great... but #NoSpoilers!
Victor is set with a mission to warn earth of the evil plan of the juju bananas ( which is not their name but that’s how it translates in my head ) after being captured he finds himself at the mercy of the humans he is trying to give his warning message to. Drugged and vulnerable he wakes to find himself being cared for by a goddess aka doctor. Maya has been manipulated, Her expertise with diseases made her the right person for the job to work on discovering the cure to a seemingly incurable disease that would have wiped out worlds not just earth without the aid of the Miran Sona... two years have passed and earths leaders just doesn’t trust them... after being bullied and black mailed, maya believes the evil Dr Emil when he says he will find other uses for her if she doesn’t do her job! Torn and conflicted maya finds herself drawn to the big red demon captive... and then thefun begins!!!
An epic story filled with adventure, chemistry and kick ass charachters!! The heat factor between victor and Maya was schorching and I adored the interaction and banter between them.
And that ending... ERMAHGAWD!! Bring on Bone heads Story!!!!
Warrior’s Plight is the last installment of the Cadi Warrior Series, if you have been avidly following the series like me (and secretly stalking Ms. West in all platforms); this book explains what happened to Vintor after the debacle at Abby’s house when all hell breaks loose, and everyone is running for their lives. If you haven’t, Ms. West has a nice preface and you can read Vintor story like a stan alone. Although I will highly recommend starting the series from book one to avoid any spoilers as multiple characters will appear across books. Regardless, be assure that every book is a delightful HEA packed with action adventure and hot sex 😊.
Back to Vintor and Maya… Vintor and a group of Cadi warriors were sent to Earth to make first contact and to warn us of the Jurou Biljana, an alien species who would love to slave humans while making a profit; of course, you can guess how that when down with our government. Vintor gets capture and sent to Lab facility where he meets his goddess Maya. Maya is an infectious disease doctor who was tricked by the government into helping them develop a dangerous virus and performing disgusting experiments in alien races, until she meets Vintor.
And that’s where the HOLI S**T I can’t put this book down to save my life starts, for real, there is adventure, intrigue, action, and the sex is out of this world (pun intended), the chemistry between Vintor and Maya literally come out of the pages. Maya is a kick a** heroine, that is smart and resourceful, she knows how to get s**t done and get our Vintor out of more than one dangerous situation.
I really enjoyed reading this authors Cadi Warrior series. Each warrior was loveable in his own way and the humans were funny as ever. I wish to read the book on Aculus and Hope eventually.
Well it was nice. I didn't enjoy it as much as the rest of this series because I've grown overly tired of sci-fi books evolving around Earth government and their treacherous behavior, it's always the same thing don't care or enjoy reading about it. I prefer my sci-fi stories to take place in space or on other planets. Sci-fi that take place on earth rarely capture my interest. Thankfully there are only two books in this series that evolve around Earth and there shouldn't be any new ones, thankfully.
I would have enjoyed to read about the warriors arriving back home and the humans reaction to the new planet. And I'm sure it would have been fun to read about the welcome comedy made up of the human women already on the planet, especially the reunion between Providence and her family. It's a shame we didn't get that. But the book was still good, I just don't care much for rotten politics and despicable scientific experiments.
In all honesty I don't care much for Aculus and Nadzia’s story, which is supposed to be the next book. However I don't get it since this series is called the "Cadi warriors" and focuses on the Cadi, and Aculus isn't from the same species and doesn't live on Cadi... so I'm not sure if the author will add the book to this series or create a new one for Aculus and his species.
I would much more enjoy reading the story of Smile and see where she will go (probably on Cadi with the Touffics) but I'm really curious about this character and I really hope she gets a book down the line.
I am reading this series of books and this one book six picks up right after five and gives the history from Vintor’s perspective. As you remember Vintor was kidnapped from Brennan’s home while trying to discus how to help protect planet earth. This book has a few villains roaming around the pages and the main one is like an evil doctor and scientist that enjoys pushing the limits of any spices to break them and to develop a super virus to protect earth from aliens. Maya is a doctor, one of many, that has been blackmailed to work with the evil scientist. Vintor arrives at the compound in a bad way and Doctor Maya is forced to save his life. Their journey begins there. . . . Read On!
I enjoyed how this book overlapped with Unleashing Boaz. The complicated interactions of the various species is interesting. Humans are not the only shitty ones.
My favorite quote - from the MMC to the human general,
“You had armed warriors and yet you sent a terrorized female in to do your job.” Vintor shook his head in disgust as he lurched to his feet. “The path to Perdition flows with the blood of cowards like you.”
The behavior of the humans is so disturbing because we pretend to have honor and follow a code of ethics but that is proven to be a lie repeatedly. At least the flesh merchants don't pretend to be something they are not.
I really love when an author crosses over her series with the characters meeting and interacting in one form or another.
I have read all the Anguis Defenders series books available so far. And it was great to see Vintor and Maya’s story after reading Boaz and Lainey’s story from the defender’s series.
With that epilogue ending, I’m now looking really forward to the next book. Thankfully, I already have it in my TBR.
This is an excellent Sci-Fi Romance series. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a new universe to read about.
I enjoyed reading this latest book in the Cadi Warriors series immensely. There was enough turbulence and steam to keep me interested throughout the book. The heroine had a great deal of substance. I enjoyed learning her story and seeing her evolve and the relationship with the hero evolve too. This is not only a great paranormal romance read but also a great sci fi read as well. Thank you Stephanie for another great story!
What a read can't get enough of this Cadi's dudes. Vintor and Maya are fighting to gain their freedom from people and aliens alike who want to destroy the world they know. But with even all that they found each other and now they fight for their love and their home. Like I said can't get enough of this Cadi's dudes love the series love the world the author has build and how easy you just can imagine that place.
From one scene to the next, you could feel the tension build with this book! The characters were polar opposites, the good guys were positively good and the bad guys were absolutely evil. The author captured the villainous government dudes at their absolute pinnacle of vile activity. This one kept my interest from page one to the epilogue. Now I just have to wait for the next one to get written.
Good read, I like this authors other books and decided to give her series a try. I started with this book rather than the 1st in the series. I’m going to read Viper next then the 1st book of the Cadi series. They storyline isn’t really interesting but I don’t have anything else to read at this time 🤷🏽♀️.
I want more and more your work was good . I enjoy how Maya was this sweet but smart genius who let the government think she was just average person. Her man was great he was the man or well the alien. He look after her better than a man an he loved her . This was a beautiful book . I am ready for the next book.
Sexy red skinned Aliens find their fared mates on Earth. Each book with different HEA stories, but some characters appear from prior books, so best to read in order.
I like them for quick , steamy reads. Just wish that they were longer so that the characters and the romance would show a little more depth.
It is kind of odd weaving this between two series. But it works because I started reading Cadi Warriors first and it makes a lot more sense reading in the authors order so you can get in her mind.
THANKS A LOT Stephanie for remembering human women come in more colors than shades of white! Keep going on these series.
Book 6 is every bit as adventurous as I’ve come to expect from this series. It’s basically a concurrent timeline with book 5 and gives a few more details of the characters from book 5 at the end, which I’m thankful for. Loving this series and continuing the journey with book 7 now!
Great edition to this series love the main characters great story plot was glued to my kindle until I finished the last page. I can't wait to read more books by Stephanie. I voluntarily review this book for my honest opinion.
I have enjoyed all in the Cadi Warriors series, including this one; however, I have read this somewhere or something very similar. The first 3/4 of the book was very familiar to me from the storyline to the characters.
These stories are all different but all are good. Vintor and Maya started in another book so I was glad to get their story as well. Who are the good guys and who are the bad? ??
Warrior’s Plight is loaded with action, betrayals, torture, deceitful humans and aliens, and hot hot loving. Love those red, tailed, massive, honorable, Cadi men! Love that Vintor got a story. Maya is an awesome heroine. Great read!!!!!
I'd like to think that humans wouldn't be this stupid when meeting new races in the galaxy, but I know there would be some. What a wild ride this book was. I'm wondering what the future holds for our intrepid group.
Well this book really shows the horrific side of men in power and their ability for cruelty and ignorance. Then the brilliant women and honourable aliens get together.
Loved it well written and loving the crossovers but found it hard to get into at first then in true fashion it flows so well and the characters are well written and individual making you smile
A well-written book that once I started I was not putting down so it was a very late night/ early morning read. I will be reading this series again when it is done. I recommend this book.
