Darkbeam Part II

Rate this book
Please note that this is not for YA Audience like the Dragonian Series Everyone knows the Rubicon is predestined for evil, and the alpha dragon does nothing to change their opinions of him. What they don't know is that he harbors a secret, a secret that can set him free, but also trap him forever. Refusing to give in to that which can lead him to a path of freedom, Blake Leaf allows the darkness to attempt to claim his soul. But there is always a shining light somewhere, and sometimes it's just too dark to see it. Will Blake find his way back to light, or is it too late for him? Darkbeam Part II is about the events of Thunderlight and Frostbite (Book 2 and 3 in The Dragonian Series) told from Blake Leaf's point of view.

I don't know what is going on with the covers for this Darkbeam parts, but I am not a fan.

I liked the parts, yes, but the covers are a bit misleading. They inspire something more erotic and more dark than it is truly the case.

This part covered Black's POVs from the book two. It was quite entertaining. I really can't say too much about its content because everything might be a spoiler for the one that hasn't read the series yet.

So, yeah. Good read, but not that good/ many reasons to give you for why you should read it.

After reading the 1st part where the world of Paegeia is sketched and the students of the Dragonia Academy, I was already under the spell of this story. A story where Blake, as the Rubicon dragon, will sink into darkness and eventually destroy Paegeia unless he finds his rider. Someone of the royal bloodline but not his best friend Prince Lucian and certainly not Princess Arianne.
And who is that new girl who looks so much like the murdered King Albert? Can she really be a daughter of royal blood and ultimately his salvation from the dark?

Part 2 of a great fantasy series where a lot is happening and not so much good things. Where Blake continues to doubt who and what Elena is. Where disaster strikes and where it seems to end

So this is Blake's perspective of books 2, 3, and even a bit of 4 of the Dragonian series. This guy is a roller coaster of an emotional mess. And now I wish he was drunk more in the earlier days of knowing Elena lol. So close!! I know that is a terrible thing to say, but if you've read the series, and read this, you will know what I mean.
Things with the Viden continue to shock me and I was even a bit sad for her and Blake in this. It is interesting what things are focused on. And what seems glossed over. I love comparing what is happening to the timeline. Blake is such a complex character.

I can never get enough of Blake and Elena's story. Especially, when it's told from Blake's POV.

Adrienne Woods has blown me away, yet again, with Darkbeam Part II. So much so, I'm currently holding my breath & stalking (kidding, sorta) the Facebook group for a release date on Darkbeam Part III.

I loved every second of this book; and, of course, all the others.

Thank you, Adrienne.

First off I want to thank Adrienne Woods for providing me with a free sample of Darkbeam II. Blake is turning darker and I kind of really want to slap him. Like in Darkbeam I there is a lot of inner dialogue and depressive, repetitive, redundant thoughts about how big and bad he is, how evil he is, how much he doesn’t care, and so on so forth. It’s frustrating to read about him thinking that he knows best and not bothering to ask others what really is going on or refusing to listen to what others tell him. He has dug himself a hole and he is determined to stay in that hole, snapping and biting at every hand that reaches out to him. And then suddenly he thinks that Elena killing him is the answer, which I think is a little pathetic as he’s looking for an escape and not a solution. However, when that is said and done I actually quite liked this Blake that wasn’t thinking and running in circles, telling himself that he is evil incarnate when he is not. He is nothing when he could be more, and I think him not fighting himself showed us what that more could be.

This was a fantastic series of dragon books. It's a lot like Harry Potter - if you love HP, you'll love this. The plot is somewhat complicated but was easy enough to follow and it was very well thought out. I loved the characters and the great blend of old world and new. I also loved that there are prequels and reverse POV books to the series as well. I have read every one of them!
I'm going to put this review on each book as I hope Ms. Woods will take notice - while I loved these books, the grammar, spelling, and punctuation errors were RIDICULOUS. I don't know who the editor is but it is unforgivable for them to not catch these errors. Maybe English is not Ms. Woods's native tongue but, regardless, a good editor should catch these errors. There is one at least every 5-6 pages and those are just the ones I saw. I thought maybe it had to do with the conversion to ebooks but I've noted other reviews on sites similar to Goodreads that say the same.
Ms. Woods - your books are fantastic. It's a shame for them to look amateurish because of the many many errors in every single book.
I gave these books a 4 star because of the many errors in every book.

The characters, banter, dialogue, interactions and charged atmosphere along with relatable qualities and individual traits, blend and flow adding depth and diversity, transforming into outstanding personalities. The scenes are strikingly sharp with abundant details and graphic descriptions creating an elaborate backdrop that feels as though you were transported to ground zero with them. Remarkable job Adrienne, thanks for sharing this amazing thrill with us.

I absolutely love the Dragonian Series, so I was counting the days till this one came out.
I love to see more of Blake, even if I wanted to hit him over the head with a frying pan the first part of the book.
In terms of the story itself, what bugs me is that he lies a lot, which I don't like.
But the narrative is consistent, the other characters remain true to what we saw in the original series.
One tiny pet peeve I have is, in the first 2 books the potion was called "Calupso" pulsing, and like it happens in Moonbreeze, they refer to it as Calypso in this one.
Also, some of the dialogues don't match, but it could be added to different people telling the same story.
Overall, I love this book, I love the story and I can't wait for Part IV, but also, I don't want it to come out, because then it will be over, and break my heart.

Blake and Elenas story told from Blakes point of view. This is a dark fantasy read with bits of horror mixed in. It has situations that will make your toes curl and your breath hitch! I was a bit skeptic at first but I just could not pass up this story! This is not my usual genre that I read now do not misconstrue what I am going to say please, I have enjoyed this series from the first book and all of the novellas in between. I am looking forward to the next book and I am glad I took a chance on Miss Woods. She is very intriguing storyteller. One that I will revisit. I like that she graced us with Blakes point of view in this book. It provides more clarity and is really a remarkable read.

So much in this book! Heartache and pain, and love, but unrecognized. Blake's POV is so intense, his darkness, and seeing Elena sharing the burden. Finally, the claiming! So amazing to see from Blake's POV. This whole book had me on edge. I have obviously read all of the Dragonian series so I know what to expect at major points, but kudos to the author for keeping it new with this perspective. Love this book, it really pulls you in and you can feel the pain, anguish, hope, confusion, and love.

I cant begin to explain how much I love this series. The world building is so complex in the original series, but when you add in the vantage point of blake.... daaaamn! It fits seamlessly with the the original. It's a short and quick read which is nice too :)
I've read the kindle version of the Dragonian series twice now. The beam series was via scribd( the first on audio, the second via ebook edition)

This is the second book from Blake's point of view
Blake is still battling his inner darkness - gets a bit overwhelming at times -
Either you do or you don't!
Quit your waffling
I am enjoying the tension between him and Elena and the thousand excuses he comes up with when he finds himself "unwillingly" playing her white knight
As the inner darkness vs light battle continues for Blake he also finds himself embroiled in other nefarious and not so nefarious plots
The question is will he take the easy way out or will he accept the truth and embrace his destiny?

The darkness is eating away at Blake, can he keep it at bay long enough? Or will it take over and have him end up destroying all that he loves? I loved tormented singer Blake, who doesn't want to turn dark (and certainly is a bad boy), and I loved Elena who has heaps of challenges too. I look forward to the next book, and what happens next.

This series only keeps on getting better

It was soo hard to put this book down. I pulled an all nighter for it. The writing is amazing. The story pulls the reader in and keeps them hooked till the end, with enough twists and turns.

The fight scenes get better. Story gets alot more intense than what it was in part 1. Also, I loved the pull and push between Blake and Elena. Blake's character becomes darker.

Continuing Blake's journey as he continues to fight the darkness. A new student arrives and creates quite the stir. The King of Lion is stolen and the students journey to The Sacred Cavern. This is a wonderful addition to the Rubicon's story and provides more insight to the Dragonian Series.

I was gifted an ARC in return of an honest review.

4 1/2 stars - This is the second book in this series which is this MC’s POV from the original Dragonian Series. This is lot darker and not sure I would recommend for YA but I am loving it. Lots of drama and action. Characters well developed. Can’t wait to read next one.

This story is dark ,filled with horror that may put you under the blankets while reading.
The story is complex but easy to follow.
The main character knows he is dark and evil but does not care.
The other characters are great and consistent as with book 1.
Great book you will enjoy this or be scared out of your wits.

From dark to darker

We get to see how dark Blake had become and what goes on in his mind. Part 2 has Blake’s point of view from Thunderlight and Frostbite so we get to see what Blake thought about Elena’s transformation. I enjoyed the book, just wished it was longer.

Outstanding

I replenished reading this from Blake's POV. It enhances the storyline in the original series too knowing what's going on in his mind. Cannot wait for the next one!

A definite must read of you enjoy the draconian series!

Amazing

I love these books, I am going to hate when they end. Blake and Elena's story has always been interesting, but reading it from Blake's POV has really brought me more clarity. I am looking forward to the 3rd installment this year

Finally getting to the parts I was hoping for sooner. Don't quiet understand the beast vs. old him vs. the one who loves her- the one the audience loves back. Let's see how it turns around in part III. Part I felt like it dragged on. This is less-so & picks up towards the middle-early end. Interesting how he didn't trust Kara & Elena dynamic.
