Jason Monaghan is a crime writer, historian and archaeologist. His Jeffrey Flint series of archaeology thrillers was first published under the pen name Jason Foss but have been re-released in e-books under his own name. He is a member of the Crime Writers Association. Born in Yorkshire he now lives on the island of Guernsey but travels widely. His career has included being a Roman pottery specialist, shipwreck archaeologist, museum director, anti-money laundering consultant, bank director and financial regulator. His current projects are the Roman small fort at the Nunnery, Alderney and the Romano-Celtic shipwreck from St Peter Port.
The action here is mostly set in Greece, where Flint is wanted for a murder that he just avoided being arrested for many years before. I preferred the English setting of the first book, but the cat and mouse chase is good fun to read – though if I were Lisa I’d have run a long time ago. The ending is a little deus ex machina but it works well.
