The title I have written down is "The Man Who Changed Overnight and Other Stories and Dreams," but that wasn't listed. I read about Fielding Dawson in The Believer, and took a couple of his books from the library. He's a reminder of how many great, innovative writers never get the recognition they deserve. His writing is fast and free, heavily inspired by the visual arts and free jazz, with a ripple of Southern twang running throughout.
