After being gone for years, Mick ‘Ace’ McIntire ordered himself a mail-order bride and returned home to Russell Gulch, Colorado. But everything has changed at home. If things couldn’t get worse, his mail-order bride is right out of the past he’s trying to keep hidden.

Anna Young, or Lady Melody as she’s known in the saloon, is running from a much too ambitious fan who wants to make her his own caged singing bird. Realizing the only way to escape her over zealous suitor is to become unavailable, she signs up with a mail-order bride agency. But imagine her surprise when the man who lifts the veil at her wedding is non other than the attractive gambler in the saloon where Lady Melody sang.

Hiding from the past, can Mick and Anna start fresh or will the demons from the River Bottom Saloon follow them to Colorado? And can the attraction they denied in Kansas City overcome their distrust and bring them together forever?

Montana Sky: Ace's Bride (Kindle Worlds Novella) by Sylvia McDaniel is a sweet Western Romance set in Morgan’s Crossing, Montana. Steady paced, quick read, a novella, packed full of love, hope, distrust, emotions, and twists and turns.
Mick ‘Ace’ Anderson, the gambler of the Anderson family, returns home to Morgan’s Crossing, to escape his past, and orders himself a Mail-order Bride. Emily Black, aka Lady Melody which is who she was known as in a saloon, in River Bottom Saloon, Kansas City. She returns to Morgan’s Crossing to escape an over zealous suitor, to become a Mail-Order Bride. Only to find Ace is her would be groom. Sparks fly, again.
The past collides with the future. But can these two people learn to trust again and find their HEA? Or will their past finally destroy their blossoming romance? Emily's over zealous suitor follows her to Morgan’s Crossing and creates havoc.
A clean romance, with second chances, hope, trust and finding a HEA. Ms. McDaniel has done an awesome job in this Western Novella. She has created a story with emotion and healing. Fans of Western Romance, second chances and Mail-Order Brides/Grooms, will definitely enjoy "Montana Sky: Ace's Bride". Ms. McDaniel is an amazing storyteller. A great read to be sure! An enjoyable and satisfying read!

Great story but…

This story like the others in the series has been great. However, there were some details that I guess were missed in the editing process. One being a name change. Jesse’s daughter was Grace in the last book (Pearl) but now has a new name of Lilly? My mind kept trying to correct the name. Also in one part the Mick says his wife has on a blue dress but 3-4 lines passed that point (at the same party) her dress turns to green. These aren’t huge issues other than the name but it took a bit away from the reading experience.

Outstanding!

I loved this wonderfully sweet story! Mail order bride Anna, unexpectedly finds herself married to a man she is already acquainted with... a gambler! Definitely not a husband she would have married if she could have seen him through the lace veil. Mick feels the same way about her! Not a good way to start a marriage. HEA ending!

Mick and Anna

This is a very good read. I liked that I was able to read it in one setting. It has a great storyline. The characters are all believable. I was never bored or tempted to skip parts because it was repeating.

5 STARS, OLD WEST ERA DRAMA MAIL ORDER BRIDE

Mick was back home again & had paid for his mail order bride before he returned, he just didn't have his bride yet. He was hoping that his family & his bride would not find out he had been a gambler; because he needed that sweet bride to help keep him on the ranch.

Anna wss shaking with nerves, being a mail order bride is scary some, now she was walking down the isle to marry a man she had not ever met with a veil on that made her almost blind. Her hopes were high & she kinda was hoping he was the tall manly blond man she saw out the window, she was so relieved because her husband to be had been 2 hours or so late. Now, she was getting married & to a good honest man with a working ranch that would she was thinking give her her new clean life, when the veil was lifted & she got her focus.

Loved this book of two people seeking redemption & hopefully will find it together. Recommend

Mick "Ace" Anderson has returned home after being gone for years. He has been Ace the gambler for a long time and he has kept that from his family. He wants to start new back home so he has ordered him a mail order bride. For one reason, to keep a certain woman's advances at bay. But when he returns home, he finds out that that woman is no longer an issue. Now he has this bride. And come to find out, she ain't a stranger after all. So much for leaving his past behind him.

Emily Black is on the run from a man who is obsessed with her. She was known as Lady Melody in the saloon and he became enamored of her going so far as to kidnap her. She got away and signed up to be a mail order bride to get out of Kansas City and away from her unwanted suitor. When she shows up in Montana and meets her husband at the alter, she realizes she didn't leave all of Kansas City there. He was a regular at the saloon. A gambler. What has she got herself into?

I really loved this book! It kept my attention from the very first page. Sylvia did a wonderful job and I can't wait to read more.

Emily and Mick are looking to start over putting their past behind them. Both decide on the mail order bride both looking forward to their new life. On meeting you could have knocked both over with a feather when their past comes back with a big kick in it. Both knowing the other very well now they have to get over the past put their best foot forward and try to make this marriage work.

I totally enjoyed this plot the author gives you wonderful characters with outstanding scenes that will hold your attention and keep you entertained. I loved the sparks they set off when they are together. The attraction has always been strong now it is even stronger, it was a pleasure wanting these two dance around their passion and love.

This is a very well written story that the author put a lot of time into with so many twist and turns your head will spin. Do not start this unless you can finish it at one setting. It was a book I couldn’t put down and look forward to going back a reread it later.

Mick "Ace" Anderson is back home and ready to settle down with a fresh start. He wants his past to remain in the past. That's why he sent for a mail order bride.

Emily Black needs a fresh start. She's tired of her old life and simply wants to settle down with a husband and family. That's why she signed up to be a mail order bride.

However, surprise is hardly the right word when, after the vows were given, Mick lifts Emily's veil and they each see a familiar face! How could their past have already found them? Can they move forward and still be happily married?

This story picks up a few months after the events in the story about Faith and I liked it quite a bit - even more than I liked Faith. I appreciated the openness and honesty Mick and Emily had with each other. I also liked the realistic timeline for them to grow closer to each other. And, I thought the ending was rather creative.

Romance - PG - lots of kisses and referenced romance
Language - PG - one mild curse word

My rating - 5 stars

I liked this western. It's a sweet quick read about Mick, gambler, and Emily, a saloon singer, both using assumed names. People had preconceived ideas about them because of what they did. They knew each other from the saloon, and neither respected each other, thinking as the rest of the world. When danger threatens them, each decides to get out of town, change their lives, settle down and marry. He looks for a mail order bride, and she becomes one. You guess what happened. They write to each other, using their real names, and agree to marry, sight unseen. Imagine their surprise when they meet to marry. Watching them learn the truth about each other and grow to one another was heart warming. But they can't outrun their pasts, and danger finds them. I loved how Mick was sweet and protective of Emily, and Mick's family was funny, especially his stepmom.

Mick and Emily needed to marry, both for different reasons. He sent off for a mail order bride just as she applied to be one. As soon as they were married, they received the shock: they knew each other from a recent, apparently unseemly past in a Kansas City saloon. Each had preconceived ideas of the other's character.

Throughout most of the book, each strived to fathom his/her spouse's true persona. As trouble looms, Emily and Mick demonstrate their dedication to each other.

I liked the H/h for their human foibles: their insecurities, their biased opinions regarding their spouses, and their secret hopes for a loving marriage. This is my first experience with this author, but definitely not my last.

I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own.

Ace's Bride is my first experience with Kindle Worlds and for those who haven't read one yet, you should give it a try. At no point did I feel like I was missing part of a bigger picture within a series. Even though this seems to be a series within a series, I was able to read the whole thing as a stand-alone.

Ace's Bride is a story set in the wilds of Montana on the brink of winter. Both Ace and Emily are hesitant about their new union and not for the usual Mail-Order-Bride reasons. Both have secrets that almost come to the fore with the very first kiss!

This was an exciting quick read that will leave you wondering if these two will make it. You'll just have to read it to see if they do.

Montana Sky: Ace's Bride by Sylva McDaniel

From the Kindle world of Deborah Holland, this adorable historical romance extends the mail-order bride stories. In this book by Sylvia McDaniel, Morgan Crossings gets a new bride when one of their own returns home after running from a flirtatious married woman.

Lady Melody, aka Emily, is so sweet, innocent and willing to try. I wonder how she can be so happy after a lifetime of limited means and years of singing in a saloon. And kudos to her for being successful at learning to cook. Or maybe we didn't hear about the failures? And no mention of laundry in this household. But why focus on the mundane? It's a sweet romance that is a perfect addition to the series.

Mick "Ace" Andersen and Emily Black were both trying to leave their past behind and start a new and better life that would last forever. They both wrote away for mail order bride and groom and were anxiously and hopefully waiting for their new lives to start. Were they ever in for surprises! And so the story begins. Can this union be their forever's?

This book is one you will make the time to just sit and read and won't want to put it down. It is such a good and fast paced book, full of tenderness and excitement I didn't want it to end!. A definite keeper. It would be a wonderful series.

A warm and sweet novella of times in the old west. Mick and Emily both have a past that meets when she becomes his mail order bride. Both are trying to leave a past behind and start anew. Never having formally met, these two have to find a way to put their past behind them and connect with each other. While Sylvia McDaniel books are well known to me and are always a great read, this is my first book in the Montana Sky series. I found it very enjoyable, a short read that I would recommend to anyone that loves a clean sweet romance of the old west. I was gifted a copy of "Ace's Bride" by the author asking me for my honest opinion. This is mine. 4 Stars!

Melody and Ace as they were known in the life they left behind or Emily and Mick, they may be the same people, but they are from completely different worlds.

When Emily moves to a new town as a mail order bride to Mick she has no idea that he is the man she knew as Ace back in Kansas City and the problem is, it's too late when she finds out. How much fun is that story to read...

Montana Sky is a fast paced and fun story to read. Emily and Mick are a great couple and it made me want to go back in time and visit those days when life was so much simpler.

High card drama and love story

I loved this story even more than the first book. Ace returns to Colorado to start over. Anna takes a chance to start over from saloon singing and ends up the mail order bride of Ace. Their first look, or reunion at their wedding was intense. They both had misunderstood pasts and both wanted love and family to work. If only more people entered relationships with that attitude of work and commitment. The stalker, the Pinkerton and the gambler all added great tension to the story.

I was given a free copy of this book for an honest review.

It was a great book, I couldn't put it down. Two who want a different life than their past. Both wanting what they thought they could never have.
I was so into the book it was hard to come back to reality. The story line was full of twists and turns, but there was always hope. I hope everyone gets to read this book. I can hardly wait for the next.

Mick (Ace) and Emily's story was fast moving and full of action from the very beginning. The characters captured me right off. A perfect mail-Order bride book with a romantic flare that didn't need details of their sexual relationship to capture your heart and fail in love too. Sylvia McDaniel has never disappointed me and she didn't this time either! Provided by author in exchange for an honest review.

Ace sends for a mail order bride before returning to his family ranch to act as a buffer for his sister-in-law. His new bride is a real surprise but he doesn't know it until he has married her. He has seen her before and not sure he wants her for a bride. She is just as surprised. Trouble follows her to the ranch in the form of an unwanted stalker. Enjoyed the story. So Ace is trying to change himself into a better man from being a gambler, with a bad reputation because he won so often. Lady Melody was being pursued by a rich rancher who wouldn't take no for an answer.
Imagine their surprise when they find they're married to each other, can Anna and Mick make a go of it or will the rancher find her?

They Deserved Each Other

Two people trying to escape their lives for something better agree to a mail order marriage only to discover they ended up together. Great secondary characters in this book made it a pleasure to read, plus it was fun to see the two gradually develop trust and love for each other, not to mention how they buried their past.
