Remington Kane is an American author that writes action-packed thrillers. The author might be unfamiliar to some people because Remington Kane is actually a pseudonym for Donald Wells.
Donald Wells has garnered a reputation for writing darker and somewhat serious novels about killers. The author was born in New Jersey. He never really left and has since made a home there. Like most of his peers, Donald Wells was an avid reader as a child.
He spent many an hour devouring every book he came across. And it wasn’t long before he began to yearn for the chance to write. Like many aspiring authors, Donald Wells knew he had the capacity to tell stories. However, he was a little hesitant to venture into such uncharted waters, not only because he didn’t know where to start with regards to writing a book but also because he didn’t have confidence in his own ability to produce compelling fiction.
Again, like most notable authors, Donald meandered about for a while. Rather than going into publishing the first chance he got, Donald tried his hand at various odd jobs. He worked as an insurance salesman, a Real Estate Sales person, and even a Retail manager.
The jobs, though seemingly meaningless in the grand scheme of things, did wonders for the author’s writing capabilities. Whether he was driving trucks or cleaning floors, Donald gained insight into the workings of the world.
He met unexpected people and heard their intriguing stories. He came across numerous strange encounters and even participated in some of them. He essentially dipped into so many unique aspects of life that it came as no surprise that he had more than enough stories rattling around his head when it finally came time to write his first novel.
Not that many authors can claim to have been offered a chance to act as bodyguard to a drug dealer. Since getting his first book sold, though, Donald has finally settled in his career. The author loves writing novels and there is nothing he else he would rather be doing. The fact that he has found a way to make money out of his passion makes him one of the luckier individuals in the world.
By the time Donald Wells began writing as Remington Kane, he had already become established as a novelist with numerous thrillers under his name. However, writing as Remington practically took over his life.
This is because Donald has achieved more success writing as Remington Kane than he did producing novels under his real name. Kane is best known for the Tanner series of novels. Tanner is a hit man who accepts a job to take out a mob boss.
When he is betrayed and thrown into prison, Tanner thinks of little else besides getting revenge. And once he finally gets his freedom, the hit man becomes a one man army, engaging in a brutal way against a crime organization known as the Conglomerate.
Each new book sees Tanner raising the stakes by finding a new target that will sting the Conglomerate in ways they couldn’t possibly fathom.
Remington Kane has been praised for the Tanner novels because Tanner is such a refreshing hero. The protagonist is so average physically, devoid of the exaggerated traits that most action heroes seem to bear. If not for his natural fighting and survival instincts, one would be hard pressed to tell Tanner apart from any other ordinary man on the street.
Wow. I did not expect to like 'Suicide or Death' as much as I did. I did not expect to ever like Sara again, but here we are. What. A. Ride. Full of action, great characters and full of thrills. The story line was so good. I truly ejoyed the way the story played out. There were a few surprises that left me going 'ok, I can see that happening'. Sara has quite the transformation and it's nice to see her coming down from her blinded rage high she's been on. I might actually like her now. I look forward to reading more of the 'Tanner Novel Series'. A great add to your tbr list.
Well well, will wonders never cease? The writer takes us on journey because of love and loyalty. The saying "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" is so true in this story. Also it was quite refreshing to get to see that Tanner doesn't always have to be the champion all the time but can be quite exceptional as the back up. This was not only good writing but the close.look at the emotions we get to see from the characters was done just right. The storytelling was like a raging river with moments of a slow stream. This is and was just good ,the story is just like the previous, we get a complicated man ,who is also human. Get on broad with this series and just have a good time.
Wow, this book was a page Turner. The most unusual things happen in Tanner‘s life before he knows it. He and Blake are working together under a truce Sarah Blake sister. Jennifer plays a large role in the story as does Jake. It’s absolutely riveting in the end as the stage is set in the bar. fire ignites from gasoline and everyone thinks they’re going to die. There’s no tanner. They have to figure this out on their own and just wait till you get to the end.
Interesting change of location. Liking how Sara has calmed down with her attitude. Much better than the constant obsessed blind rage she was filled with before. Sucks that it took what it did to snap her out of it. Moving along to the next book! These are addictive!
These books get better and better! I liked the first two, but the writing and action and characters have gotten better with each book. The back stories are great and make the characters so much more alive.
This author just keeps getting better and better. Cant stop reading this series. At beginning didn't really like Tanner but now I really like him despite that he is a hitman.
Book 7 ties up a few of Tanner story arcs with Sarah Blake. The books really reached to try to add too many things happening to bring some of the plot lines to a close. It was a simple read but I had to force myself to get through some parts as it was just bad soap opera. I still enjoy the series and it was an easy read so it was probably the worst Tanner book to date but it was bearable.
Tanner and Sara finally come to an agreement not to kill each other after Sara's sister is taken hostage. The action takes an inside look at Jennifer's problems with being a hostage and forced to travel with her African captors through the jungle to the main camp. Sara's friend and lover, FBI Agent is tracking the group and tries to take out her captors one at a time. Tanner and Sara mount a rescue, but end up captured as well. During the action, a plan develops and Tanner figures out a way to help their rescue team by setting fire to the camouflage pattern that allows the helicopter to see and help before getting shot down. But their assistance was enough to allow the hostages to fight their way out with the weapons of the killed hostages. Action then shifts back to home and an attempt by Vance to burn the bar down killing everyone inside and Turner's return from vacation results in Vance being killed by Tanner. Thanks for another great read.
I am continually intrigued by the cleverness displayed by this man. I continue to feel physically exhausted when I finish one of these stories. Thank you Mr. Kane. I specifically enjoyed your careful weaving of the story, updating us on Cody Parker's status. A refreshing use of a flashback moment, almost leading me to believe Tanner is becoming part of a family, heaven forbid! I found your use of the "Deus ex machina" the narrative ending being used to create this improbable family moment narrative especially clever. Well done, sir, well done!
