Newly divorced, Cassidy Porter has returned home to her parents’ ranch. Needing time on her own to recover from a bad marriage to a cheating man, she tries to concentrate on her career as a romance author and helping her parents with the ranch. Worried that her ex will follow her and try to convince her to return to him, she is determined to hold her ground and never again trust him or any man again.
Life is good for Ash Beckett. His feed business is successful and although busy with business, he’s thought something was missing from his life. Ever since his brother found happiness in love, he’s been wondering if perhaps it was time for him to pursue the same thing for himself. The only problem—the women he knows are simply not what he wants in a life partner. When he meets Cassidy, he recognizes that she’s different but doesn’t seem all too interested.
Cassie is attracted to the tall sexy cowboy that women seem to follow and flirt with wherever he goes but can she trust her judgement, for it had already failed her once. Was she ready for another relationship and if so, could she trust Ash Beckett to be faithful or would he betray her too?

This is a great series and I can't wait for more! Ash is quite the cowboy. He's confident, tenacious, knows what he wants and goes for it. In an attempt to shelter her heart, Cassidy keeps him at arm's length, a place he refuses to be. Can she resolve her trust issues in time, or will she lose Ash, the sexiest and most loving man she's ever known?

What a truly amazing story this was. It is a great addition to a wonderful series.

I absolutely adored Ash in this book. When you picture a cowboy, from the way he walk, talks and acts this is Ash. He runs a successful business and also trains horses on the side. He cares about his family and is a great neighbor. While helping out a friend, he meets his daughter who is recently divorced and Ash is immediately smitten with her.

There was so many things I liked about Ash. The way he was with his animals spoke to the kind of man he is. He is a confident man who would stand in front of a wild horse and through soft spoken words and training, he would make this animal trust him. I firmly believe this says a lot about a person. This caring and compassionate attitude also carried over to Cassidy. He knew when to hold back and give her space but yet he didn't go far so she could see that he was a good man.

I could relate to Cassidy is so many ways. There were things she did and it upset me but when I thought about it, I would have done the same. She was married to a man who couldn't stay faithful. At times, she wonders if it was because of her. It also breaks her trust in men in general. The part I was frustrated about was she would openly admit to herself that Ash wasn't like her ex but yet she would push him away.

I couldn't believe how invested I was in this couple. When they were fighting, my heart physically hurt for them. This book will definitely make you believe in love when you are with the right person.

Another Good Book

I have become one of Susan biggest fan I have enjoyed each book starting with the first of the 52 book series. I'm a black senior citizen in my early seventies. You've got me in my bed every night. I'm never able to put the book down. Now I search through my kindle just for books by you.. I wish I were in Montana. Maybe I could find a husband.

Too "in her head" wordy

Could have been a great story. The characters and location were good. The female characters "in head" conversations got redundant and boring to the point this reader was wishing the red hot cowboy would find someone less whiny and insecure.

Loved it

This author makes you love the men of Montana as much as their women do. This particular book showed heartbreak from the man's side and broke your heart.

Sweet

Really liked the story because both were shy about love. They finally came together for forever in spite of their issues.

The man whore with morals (except when he’s using women sex) and the sexually inexperienced 30 year old famous romance author. Why does this author slut shame his ex girlfriend for having multiple partners when he and his and brother are doing the same thing? Why bad mouth women who like sex and not the men. Also where are all these women coming from? It’s a small town with one bar. Are the women coming from out of town to sleep with these 2 men and to be called whores? Let’s stop with the double standard.

“I really don’t know what you saw in her. I mean, she is pretty, no doubt there but she sure gets around.”

“But how else do I find a woman for a quick lay? I’m sure as hell not interested in a relationship.”

“You need to move on, Gray. You only care about getting laid.” Gray’s lips flattened. “True. I’m not interested in any other kind of relationship.”

She’s the whore?
