A Love of My Own
Author, Sheryl Lister creates some of the best family Contemporary Romance series today. The Grays of Los Angeles was, without a doubt, a memorable and well-written series. A LOVE OF MY OWN introduces the Hunters of Sacramento, whom we first met in STILL LOVING YOU, Malcolm Gray’s story. A LOVE OF MY OWN features Lorenzo Hunter, a Civil Engineer in the family construction business, and Desiree Scott, an entrepreneur who owns a thriving bath and body store.
I love reading Sheryl Lister’s stories because she always incorporates a life issue into the storyline that gives her stories a realistic touch. In this story Desiree’s mother is experiencing the onslaught of Alzheimer’s disease. Kudos to the author for successfully handling this serious subject matter.
The HEA is wonderful!
I enjoyed this introductory story to the Hunters of Sacramento. Once again, prolific author, Sheryl Lister has created an entertaining and engaging family series. I can’t wait to see who’s next. In the meantime, grab a copy of A LOVE OF MY OWN and enjoy.

Totally enjoyed this book

Aliyah & Bryant frenemies with a secret attraction to each other are thrown together on a road trip with his dad and her aunt who are dating. During the two week road trip these two discover they have a lot in common. Aliyah realizes that Bryant is not the complete mean grouch that he appeared to be, and Bryant realuzdz that with Aliyah he smiles a lot more than with anyone else. The two quickly realize that not only are they sexually attracted to each other they genuinely like and just maybe love each other

Desiree and Lorenzo theirs was a sweet but slightly complicated journey to happily ever after. Two people both wary of relationships and love but can't stay away from each other. Desiree endures drama due to her mother's declining health, and her siblings not stepping up as they should. Lorenzo endured stress and drama with his dad's unexpected retirement and a unscrupulous business vendor, through all if this they are there for each other proving that true love does exist

Aaliyah was just what Bryant needed. Bryant held on to something he saw years ago and his failure to address it tainted his life and his relationship with his father. Aaliyah helped him to address it. They each realized the feelings they had for each other for years.
Two books in one
Both Lorenzo and Desiree had trust issues. Lorenzo's issues were due to an ex girlfriend. Desiree's were coupled by both ex boyfriends and her family, namely her sisters. Lorenzo's family helped him to see that Desiree was not like his ex and Desiree's best friend helped her. Desiree finally got the backbone to put her sisters in their place once and for all. patience and love saw them through.

Green and Lister in a combination book is just what the writing God's ordered. You want a story where you feel like you're in it. where the character development and plot make sense. Where you just have to know what's going to happen next. That's what you have with Road to Forever and A Love of My Own. Family dynamics are different from us all. Whether you have lost a parent or dealt with their pending department, it takes a toll on the family and relationships

Two Great Reads
Road to Forever was a wonderful frenemies story. Aaliyah and Bryant were associated by family and friends and neither felt the other liked them. A forced cross country road trip allows them to not only work out their relationship, it helps them both work out other life issues.
A Love of My Own was a great connection to the Grays of Los Angeles. It is always great to catch up on characters from previous books. Having a relative that progressed through the stages of Alzheimer’s this book struck a cord.
Road to Forever was a wonderful frenemies story. Aaliyah and Bryant were associated by family and friends and neither felt the other liked them. A forced cross country road trip allows them to not only work out their relationship, it helps them both work out other life issues.

Thoroughly enjoyed this trip on the Road to Forever! You can always count on this author to deliver a well written story full of heat, real-life issues, along with healthy dose of funny. I loved the road trip Aaliyah was coerced into taking with Bryant after experiencing all those heated glances. It was a joy catching up with the Bare Sophistication families and the little divas.

It's always nice to see someone find that special one just when they decide relationship love is just not worth the pain. And I was pleasantly surprised to catch up with some of my favorite characters from the Grays of Los Angeles, although though I'm partial to Khalil and knowing he's still involved with Anthony.

A Love Of My Own...Sheryl Lister
A beautiful written sweet inspirational love story....that will grip at your heart for beginning to end....
Our main character, Desire Scott was strong, secure, and determine to find true love with Lorenzo Hunter...(I love his relationship with his family and cousin)...the ending was awesome when Desire had the courage to stand up to her sister, Melina....high recommended
