Fox has been secretly in love with his best friend, Tobias, since grade school. But even though Fox has fought in wars overseas, he hasn't worked up the courage to do act on his feelings.

Then, an alien ship appears in the pre-dawn sky and bombs San Francisco.

Fox never imagined he would have to go to war again. Now things have changed. To save himself, and the man he loves, Fox will have to join the fight against the invaders.

Not really for me. The character development is non-existent. The main character starts out with PTSD. That disappears. The two main characters get together, so what. Their past is so undeveloped that I have no idea whether this is monumental or not. The plot is rushed and sloppy. Really, Fox is ex-military and they have no watch mounted at the community centre and no escape plan should they be attacked? I found the whole time travel plotline poorly conceived. If Fox was never president, how could his VP have assumed the post? Interference with the timeline would affect the future and change things for the bad guys. This plot has a very tenuous hold on logic. Sorry but this is not for me.

Interesting short read, and the plot has a nice series of twists (okay, the first one was pretty obvious, but the third surprised me 100%). I'd have liked it to be longer, with a bit more fleshing out, especially for Tobias's character. We get what makes Fox tick. Tobias, not so much, because the action keeps us from really getting to know him. Still, I enjoyed the ride.

The beginning could've used another proofread, but don't worry, it shapes up pretty well after the first couple of chapters.

All in all, I was entertained and given a cool sci-fi premise, so I'm happy.

Intersting plot

The plot is different and interesting. The characters human and mostly likeable. Although Fox needed a swift kick a time or two. I couldn't connect as well as I like in a book.

Not what you think.

Really good story, not at all what I thought it would be. I loved the unexpected twist. I love the characters and I really like the writing style. This author has more books, yay!! On to the next one for me.

Unexpected

This was very different from what I expected. It was a fresh and unique storyline that was a rollercoaster ride from beginning to end.
