A second chance romance that packs a punch. I felt for Ty -- rough upbringing, impulsive youth, wounded rodeo star...it seems like he can't hold on to anything good for very long. He may look like a tough cowboy but deep down he's afraid. And fear has been the impetus for a lot of his mistakes. I can totally relate to that! But he keeps on fighting and he's back in his hometown, stripped of everything he thought made him special and looking for a way to start over...and maybe reconnect with the girl he left behind.

Morgan is fierce and proud and not about to forgive and forget. I just wanted to shake some sense into her. Gah! Sometimes she was so hardheaded and mean towards Ty...gah! And he just took it and then that steamed me too! lol Definitely a rocky-road-to-a-happily-ever-after romance.

I can't believe this book is rated 4.23 stars right now. I dont get it. The trope was boring already and then the writing was just bad.
It took FOREVER for things to happen, there was barely any romance at all, we don't see MJ falling back in love with Tyler really, and it took Tyler's selling of all his precious rodeo trophies to buy some land and donate it to Morgan for Morgan to finally go to him and tell him she loves him!

Also, while this doesn't bother me, I'm wondering how this Christian book said that Morgan and Tyler had sex before they were married.. very interesting. It's like it's being normalized.

Morgan was annoying as crap. I understand her not wanting to instantly forgive Tyler for walking out without an explanation years ago, but why did she stay grumpy with Tyler for the entire book and keep his identity hidden from their daughters? When was she going to share with Hannah and Allie that Tyler is their dad?

Tyler's cool and he never did anything wrong.
Morgan just sucked kinda.

I didn't care for the side story of MJ's mom ditching their family to be with a boyfriend & then serving her dad divorce papers via email.
Then MJ & her dad go to visit her mom to talk about the divorce face to face, but that whole thing is weird and MJ harbors a lot of hatred towards her mom. Not very nice or Christian. Why was divorce and MJ's dad trying to get over the whole thing quickly normalized like this? Interesting.

This is a bad book compared to the other love inspired ones I've read. Oof.

2.5. ugh. Just ugh. Neither main character was convincing - he left her years before because he was SCARED? and she just forgives him just like that? And then he breaks her trust again and thinks he's right and she still trusts him? I just didn't get this book at all.

Whew, I made it. Every so often I think it's a good idea to read from a genre I'd not normally select and this was one of those times. I think it's important to understand what works and how these stories change. Of all the genres romance is my least favorite so it's probably been 20 years or more since I read one and I can't say it was easy.

I can't say I enjoyed this book but I was never intended to. This story was written for an entirely different demographic. I rated it a four, not because I like it but because I think the author succeeded in producing a story that would be well received by those who enjoy romance novels.

Things have changed over the years. The last time I read a romance novel, the plot outline might have been based on Pride and Prejudice. The male lead was austere, distant and, apparently, arrogant. I believe he was a surgeon. The female was a nurse, caring, compassionate and infuriated by this surgeon's high opinion of himself. Eventually things changed and they got together despite a third party who, as I recall, was either female, wealthy and trying for the good doctor. In Beneath Montana Skies the female lead is a strong woman, running a cattle ranch almost single-handedly and he is a former rodeo champion who had been pretty much disassembled by the bulls and comes home broken and filled with remorse. It's quite a change over the years.

If there was any more sweetness to the story I'd have a case of diabetes right now but for those who like this sort of thing I'd recommend it. The pacing was painfully slow for me. I just wanted it to be over but Mia Ross is a competent wordsmith and made her characters come to life.

There are strong feminist and environmental themes running through the book but in the end, there is a suggestion that family trumps everything else. For anyone who is reasonably young and enjoys romance novels I think you'd like this one.

I like Mia's books. This one is worth a read. For someone was in a hurry to leave which was Tyler Wilkins. So Morgan Whittaker made a decision was it right you need to read the story to find out. Mia writes a great story that draws you into it. She shows you how decisions can be good and bad. Then when things are worth fighting for you can give up certain things to fight for it. This is a great story. Worth reading from beginning to end.

A perfect Hallmark movie of a book with a handsome cowboy and a strong, independent woman.

I am a fan of Mia Ross's books! This is a touching story set in Montana that involves twin girls, one with autism, a cowgirl, and an ex rodeo star. Need I say more?
