The beautiful cover of this book appealed to me and made me want to pick up the book and start reading it. I admit that I'm a person drawn to books with beautiful covers. The uplifting story was both sad at times and at times beautiful and heart warming. The characters Raesha and Naomi Bawell were strong women who believed in reaching out to others who were in need. Two of the characters, Josiah Fisher and his sister Josie were not strong characters because of their abusive past . Another thing I enjoyed about this book was that the author used the town Compton Creek and bought in characters from other books she has written in the past. I love the character Judy Compton and also Jeremiah and Ava Jane Weaver. Also characters from Amish Christmas Hideaway where mentioned here in this book. It's so nice to keep up with fictional characters from past books.
Raesha Bawell is an Amish widow who lives with her mother-in-law also widowed. Although Raesha still grieves her late husband, lately she finds herself to be more contented as she helps Naomi and runs their hat manufacturing business. Then came the day her life changed completely. It was the day she found a small baby left on her front porch. Who would abandon their own precious child? What would Raesha do do with this little girl?
The Baby isn't the only change that has happened in Raesha's life. There's a handsome new neighbor who has come to introduce himself and now he thinks the baby might be his niece . Josiah Fisher has a lot of things in his past that he has been running from. He's confused and searching for his runaway sister, Josie Fisher. Could she have left her baby on the Bawells front porch? He just wants to do the right thing but he can't help but notice his beautiful neighbor Raesha and how much she has grown to love this baby. Could this really be Josie's baby and is she somewhere close by?
I would recommend this book to readers of Amish Fiction and fans of Lenora Worth. This is book two of Amish Seasons Romance. It can be read out of order but I think you would get more out of the story if you read it in order because the author has bought characters over from Their Amish Reunion, book one of this series.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. Thank you! A review was not requested. All opinions expressed here in this review are my own.

This is the second book in the author's 'Amish Seasons' series. I read and reviewed Book #1, but I believe this book can be read as a standalone as the author brings us up-to-date on the other characters in the community.

This is a beautiful story of redemption, reconciliation, forgiveness, and survivors of childhood and adult traumas.

The main characters are realistic, and I feel they exemplify exactly what I believe the Amish faith represents as far as how they reach out to others in need without expecting anything in return.

Highly-recommended for readers who enjoy Amish/Christian/clean/historical romance and Amish/Christian/clean/historical fiction.

Her Amish Child is a true love story. I enjoyed reading about Compton Creek. I didn’t realize this book was in a series and read Seeking Refuge 1st. It can be read as a stand alone but reading this book, Her Amish Child before reading Seeking Refuge would have been much better.
Raesha Badwell is a young widow. She lost her husband to cancer but stays busy with her business of making hats and farming. Also her mother-in-law Naomi, lives with her.
Hearing a soft cry on the front porch, Raesha finds a very young baby with a note attached stating that the baby’s name is Dinah. The note stated that the mother was unable to care for the baby at this time and wants Diniah to be loved and raised Amish.
Josiah Fisher has returned to his home town to hopefully find his sister whom he has not heard from in quite some time. Also he wants to repair the home where his parents lost their life in a fire many years ago and put the home up for sale. He has hired a detective to find his sister but no one seems to want to talk.
Raesha and Naomi live next door to the home place of Josiah. He needs a place to stay while working on the home and was told that Raesha and Naomi will sometimes rent out the small grossdaddi haus.
He visits them to make a plea to rent from them just long enough to get his home repaired and on the market. When Raesha comes to the door, Josiah hears a baby crying and notices the hat the baby is wearing. It looks so familiar and he starts asking lots of questions concerning the baby. He states that the hat once belonged to his sister and this must be his kin. Raesha and Naomi have already called for little Diniah and worry he might take her away.
Will this bring closure for Josiah locating his sister? Will Raesha give little Diniah up?

A friend (MH) sent me this book in a box of books.

The romance plot is a lot of does he love me or doesn't he/can she love me or can't she episodes. I understand Josiah being torn between obligations. He feels he owes his uncle in Ohio for taking him/them in and loaning him money. He feels he owes his sister because he left her behind when he left the family and also because he moved her away after their parents died (thinking it was the best thing for her). He feels he owes Raesha and Naomi because they take Dinah in and care for her as well as giving him a room nearby so he can rebuild his family's buildings (whether to sell or stay is to be determined).

Josie went through quite a bit prior to us meeting her. It does make me wonder how often it happens to Amish girls. In some ways, they are sheltered prior to their running around time and I can see how they could be taken advantage of. I can also see why they might fear returning to their Amish community.

After a couple of intense books, this was a more relaxing read, although there's still lots of plot twists, characters who have a hard time recognizing they're in love, runaway siblings, abandoned babies, etc. It was worth reading.

Sometimes you just need the simple stuff to read in life. I’ve definitely read better Amish romance books than this but this was cute and dramatic but yet wholesome. Nice way to pass the time.
