Yale Univ., New Haven, CT. Introductory immunology textbook for medical students, advanced undergraduates, and graduate students. Previous c1997. Extensive use of illustrations. Softcover.
I thought it might be kinda funny to put this book in my goodreads list because I have definitely read it cover to cover. I'm actually surprised it showed up, so that's cool. If you're looking for a book on immunology that's simple to read with good figures that are easy to follow then you can borrow this from me, because you certainly aren't going to buy it unless you're willing to spend 100 bucks on it. There's a section in the end called the toolbox that's good for getting ideas for experiments if you're into that kind of thing, which I happen to be...
There are other immunology books (Kuby, Abbas, Paul) that are also good, this book just happens to be the one I chose to have my department buy for me since it was recommended by most people.
For the ADD med school student. This book is colorful, both in illustrations and content. This text has helped me visulaize complicated biochemical processes that are imperative to understanding immunology, The included CD is packed with animations of all sorts, and the lady that does the voice over sounds hot, smart women are hot.
Yeah, I really loved this. It made microbiology and our immune system seem like a huge video game, with an epic struggle going on. Our immune systems are beautiful, complex, and fascinating. I also really liked the graphics on the accompanying CD.
Makes life easier! It helped me to understand how everything works, much better than lecture slides XD ! I didn't read the full book, I only read a couple of chapters which helped making immunology clearer.
UBC, Micb 302 + 402 - Immunology, Advanced Immunology. Great book for studying immunology. Great illustrations, the figures are extremely helpful at understanding each concepts. The book go into a lot of depth.
