I was walking down and road. I had no idea who or where I was. I had no place that I was going. I was really just wandering. I needed a friend and a point of reference.

The village that I entered was small. The friend that I found was a young woman in a hood and tunic that covered her from head to foot and I had no idea what she looked like. She spoke well enough and was gracious and helpful, and she wanted to help me navigate my circumstances, but she wasn’t thinking that she could be my friend.

She was “Nogud”. I didn’t know what that was, and I had no idea what she looked like under there, but I knew that I needed her and I liked her. And I knew that I was a little afraid because that was all that I knew.

That was the first day. A few days later, I was “The Wizard of Bonvale” and I knew the girl, the nogud, very well indeed. She was bright and funny and marvelously sexual.

I didn’t know where I came from, but I knew that I was staying here.

This is the first book in my story, The Nogud Legacy, Book 1: The Wanderer.

Warning…or perhaps enticements: The story of The Nogud is filled with mysteries, humor, good friendships, a bit of martial arts, post-apocalyptic fantasy, robots, and later on in the series, horrible monsters… and a lot of sex and casual nudity. The culture where our hero lives has a tradition of having more than one mate, so that’s where the sex comes into it. His story doesn’t shy away from the graphic details of any of it. It’s an adventure story for mature adults. A vicarious romp with heroes, nymphs, and pixies. Maybe you will enjoy it. Writing it was certainly a lot of fun.

Won't let me put less than one star

10% through and I'm done with this travesty. The dialogue is horrendous, coulda worked if the MC had forgotten how to talk properly or something, but apparently everyone else in the book did too.

Horrible writing!

This was the most stilted, awkward, poorly written book that I've read on KU. I tried multiple times to get through it and never made it past the hassling way point. Don't waste your time.

Teaching an old dog new tricks...

What a delightful and playful story! Many stories are are escapism and this is one of those. Not only is it delightful and playful, but uplifting as well. The sex is tantric and titillating. Don't be a prude, Read and enjoy!!!

Good story

Good story with excellent building. She begins with a unusual start, but the reader discovers the world as the MC does. The ladies are unique, but without spoilers, you can read the women in a few different ways.
Looking forward to exploring the whole series.

Fun

Fun best describes this series the way things are progressing in such a strong way you feel apart of the whole world. You learn from the effort experience by all involved.

Definitely a strange one.

I really like this book and found it quite enjoyable to read. The only reason I did not give this book 5 stars was because it tended to drag on. It was almost like the Author had to account for every minute that passed. Because of this the events that happened in the book did not give any realistic time for them to settle into the characters. Nobody had any time to think things over and everything was excepted at face value. Because of this the whole story I had a feeling of surrealism to it and this is maybe what the Author was going for, we shall see.

Strangely Addictive

It starts out as a confusing ramble but starts to quickly fill in the gaps. My only complaint is the lines between lust and love are a bit blurred. Frustratingly, I had trouble putting it down.

Will leave it unrated because I didn't read that far. The dialog is just too stilted and there is lots of it so hard to ignore. That aside the plot is as with many harem erotica an excuse to make it super easy to collect woman. Basically having big breasts and butts and a narrow waist + being easily turned on and sensitive disqualify you as mate in this setting. They are called Nogud=no good. Of course mc comes from our world and finds them hot. (well from what I read they wouldn't be found unattractive there either and just dress in sacks with hoods so nobody sees much of it, wonder how that works with growing up don't the people remember them from before being declared nogud?)

Also woman not part of an household travel around with the merchant who tries to find them man. So the merchant tends to have nogud and they are cheap(btw their currency is dollar and he has dollar with him and luckily most stuff costs cents not dollars. He gets his first nogud for 4 cent and getting more of them is no problem either.

I was looking for erotica in a fantasy setting else I wouldn't have tried it but I just prefer woman with more of a personality and relationships less boring than "you are the only one interested in nogud in this world so I latch onto you like I was imprinting". Didn't get far enough to see whether there is a plot.

Unique reading pleasure for adults!
I think these stories by Marilyn Foxworthy are unique.
The interesting mixture of philosophy, psychology, fantasy and pure sex probably doesn't exist a second time.

I love how the characters find each other and bind to each other. Always on the basis of free will, of course! Although sexuality is very explicitly portrayed, this is never purely a purpose in itself but is in a meaningful context. The stories carry us off into a better world and yet also radiate onto ours.

The protagonists often conduct very detailed monologue-like dialogues. In the process, their complex and yet very clear positions develop. To read it this way is certainly not for everyone. But the associated "deceleration" is highly beneficial.
Readers who are willing to get involved are rewarded with many hours of reading pleasure.

I've waited a while to write the review for this one, and it was the first of Ms Foxworthy's books I read.

They say some things are "love it or hate it", but I am pretty ambivalent about this book. These books are really a way for the author to exercise some fantasies and give her version of utopia via her worldview.

There is a strong socialist slant to this world, and like any version of socialism it won't work; motivation to innovate and work harder are always crippled, and it's no stretch to say that if you spend more money than you make you'll run out sooner or later.

These are the problems I have with the story and MC. The language is a slog to get through too. The book is really a 2.5, but I rounded up as there is an interesting world buried in there. There is also a LOT of sex; you are warned of that, but I think a lot of what is described could be compressed in the text. Really, a ruthless editing could tighten this book up a lot.

I enjoyed it.

It was fun, but way different than the books i normally read. It was a day or two in book story world, but still a story. The editing is pretty terrible. The sensual portions don't seem to need editing though. Sometimes or most of the time,; except for the end, i dont understand the endless talking circle. I dont believe guys talk that much. It is a book though and starting the second book i hope the author is not foreign. I havent read a book that - it is very odd. Conversation for a day. Maybe two. Broken english. I'm still happy i read this.

As the author says, this book can be summed up like this: If you’re a man, take time to kiss the lower lips. If you are a woman, you are an exceptional creature and worthy of happiness. If you choose to read on, that’s your choice. The author was careful to tell potential readers what was in store, and she did not lie - this is a whimsical fantasy with a lot of thankfully consensual sex. If, having read this review, you decide to read this book, do not expect "War and Peace" or a Dickensian tale. Instead, get a snack and a drink, and lose yourself in a bit of fantasy. Cheers!

Weird doesn't even cover it!!!

Well I can't say they don't warn you in the introduction, but to say it's weird doesn't even come close....
If you're just looking for titillation and bizarre storyline I guess it delivers something of that ilk. I can honestly say that the 1st short instalment/book was more than enough of this saga for me (probably the 1st chapter was sufficient lol)

I read this book as part of my Kindle Unlimited subscription (free book but I have to pay £7.99 a month for the subscription)

UNFORTUNATELY NOT ALL KINDLE UNLIMITED BOOKS ARE CREATED EQUAL!

Enjoying this and all the other books I've read

One minor distraction for me is they need a second edit.

The first edit was for publication and often miss things like flipped pronouns and missing words. I've been doing this for over 20 years and know how it works.

When someone reads for pleasure and has no deadline, these minor errors are easier to see.

I'd like to assist if possible. No renumeration or credit.

I'm retired and like projects to keep me busy

Great read

I am a avid reader of books of all kinds, as long as it sparks my interest. This one did and then choked it in to submission. Only a couple misspellings that took a moment to figure out.

Very Entertaining.

Quite differently written. There were a few places that I would have liked to have shortened, but overall I was very satisfied with the story. Looking forward for the sequel.

A New Favorite Author

I love her style of writing, mixing the old “Tom Swift” style in a refreshing way. This magician can take me mountain climbing anytime she wants. I’ll be happy to enjoy each journey.

Good start to a serial.story

Had fun reading over the weekend. You will like this series of books of you like erotic romance. I don't think that you can compare this to Ulysses too wordy but still fun.

I keep re-reading Marilyn Foxworthy's books. I think I have all that are available. And am more or less patiently waiting more. This author has been part on my inspiration to write my own stories. Maybe I'll share them some day.

a new story for me

As of now, I find Ms Foxworthy’s stories quite entertaining. She make it clear that no one is forced, it is all choice. I am sure I will read more of her stories.
Only major downside is some times it difficult to see who the speaker is.
Still highly recommended

Book was pretty good but the author lost my interest at time's while describing conversations. The book has some really good parts so I will read book 2.

Lots of potential here which unfortunately was ruined by an incredibly repetitive & slow moving story line.
