Incredible puzzle piece of San Francisco/Bay Area history, depressing metaphor for American spectacles (abundant use of resources for a temporary installation only to be used as a site of radiation and navel shenanigans)

A nostalgic look back at San Francisco's Golden Gate International Exposition of 1939-40. A great read, and abundantly illustrated.
