It's A Storm Without God by Larry Taylor
Book starts with a dedication page then table of contents. Foreword is given by his aunt who cared for him for many years of his life.
Acknowledgements are included. Poem and introduction are included.
Story about how Larry has encompassed God in his life. He recalls back to when he was just a very young baby and some events that took place.
With the demise of the family unit the kids are removed and some stay together, others go to live with other relatives.
Things seem fine but only for a short time before the kids are relocated to another foster home. Cycle goes on and on.
As the author speaks of other family members he lets you know he could write a book on them only, maybe in the future?
Interesting the passages he uses that bring him to his life today and how accomplished he is.
Yearly chronicle of events occur and are discussed. Special remarks are listed at the end of the story: quotes, Bible passages, songs and his morning and night prayers.
Received this review copy from the publicist and this is my honest opinion.

This is a short book packed with such a powerful story. From birth Larry Taylor has faced more challenges than the average person but has handled them all with grace, and of course God. It is such an inspiration to see a man with such unwavering faith. This book is a great read for anyone that needs a little help with their own faith or may be facing battles that seem impossible to conquer. If you put your trust in the right places you can achieve many great things and overcome any obstacle.

This author has been through all kinds of hell and fought back. Several times he bounces back from the brink after going through unimaginable traumas. The story is very short but to the point. I recommend you give it a go.

A survivor’s journal

Ohio born author Larry Eugene Taylor Jr. earned his education from Kentucky State University, has been a successful college level football player, single parent, and is an entrepreneur, a motivational speaker touring the country to stimulate business development and economic empowerment.

In a brief but stimulating book Larry shares his life experiences – a difficult childhood from a broken home and living in foster homes, a struggle with addiction, a cancer survivor – and how in every struggle he acknowledges that God protected him and provided a new path for him to overcome obstacles and succeed as the entrepreneur and motivational speaker he has become. Larry offers his thoughts on many aspects of his life journey, and in doing so provides a supportive resource for understanding his frequent appraisal that God’s so Great! He adds pertinent scripture references and even songs that supported him along the way.

Larry’s excitement and enthusiasm are contagious and his book lifts the spirit. This is yet another success for the author whose mission is to be a disciple of God’s power and influence. The book is short in length but long in supportive testimony.

This is such an uplifting and inspirational book that I really needed to read right now. Reading Larry's struggles through life and seeing how he came through each difficulty with a stronger faith in himself and in God is so great to experience. I'm sure that he must be a fantastic motivational speaker and now with this book he is sure to motivate and inspire many more people.

It is a great opportunity to read someone else's story and testimony. No doubt faith makes miracles in people's life but what I found interesting in this book is the spirit and positive energy of a person who kept faith and remained thankful despite all the tough circumstances and challenges faced throughout his entire life. It is wonderful and inspiring to read such testimony glorifying God in hardship. God bless!

It's A Storm without God is the personal story of Larry Taylor's struggles through life and how he overcame it in the end with the help of God.

Starting from his adolescence up through his teenage days, he narrates how he was taken away from his mother,to his first and second foster homes where they were mistreated. His younger sibling took most of the ass whopping due to his unique juvenile behaviour. With the help of child services, they were finally relocated to another foster home where God was truly present there. GOD'S SO GREAT!!!

Being back and forth with his mum and dad at various times growing up, he grew to be addicted to alcohol and drugs. Realising this was not the way to live life, he started to withdraw from them. The withdrawal had the effect of him being paranoid, hysterical, recurrent seizures and major hallucinations resulting to his being hospitalized.
Told by doctors he has but 48 hours to live, he found God in the midst of it all who helped him out of his hallucinations and bewilderment. God even inspired him to make inventions, making business plans resulting in his being an entrepreneur. He praises God through out the book and ends it with select songs and Bible verses that help inspire him through out his new journey alongside prayers and beautiful quotes.

As an African reader I couldn't understand why he didn't explain the reason his mum and dad got separated from them at such a young age or why he and his siblings got taken away from their mum untill "she got clean and healthy". I however appreciate the helpfulness of the extended family especially Aunt Barbara in helping him and his siblings through it all and their God mother, Amy. One only needs to wonder what would have become of them if the aforementioned developed an I don't care attitude. GOD'S SO GREAT!!!

In the Bible Book of Job, a righteous man, blessed with wealth and children, is put to a test by God. In the short book entitled It's a Storm Without God, Larry Taylor, a modern day Job who never enjoyed Job's wealth, is another righteous man put to the test. A self confessed "crack baby", Mr. Taylor was unable to live with his mother until she overcame her substance abuse difficulties, and was therefore housed with his aunt. Taylor spent his youth in and out of the type of foster care which was mostly horrifying, yet he found a way to enjoy the hiking adventures and gospel singing at a center for kids. Taylor was also proud to have been baptized at age 8. Foster care was not the sum total of Mr. Taylor's problems, however. He dealt with alcohol in high school and drugs in college. His attempts at sobriety resulted in hallucinations and hearing voices. He neglected cooking and burned a residence, wrecked a car as part of a DUI, and suffered a brain tumor, which caused him to receive surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation treatment. After finding his way through all of that, Taylor found his way back to academic success, all the while praising the glory of God.

If ever there were a person to give up all hope, Larry Taylor would be the one, yet he persisted by relying on his faith to get him through. This little book, this tale of woe, remains somehow optimistic throughout. It is the story of an extremely difficult life, yes, but it is also a tale of constant faith, the type of faith which can overcome seemingly innumerable sad tidings.

A recent college graduate, Larry Taylor has experienced a lifetime of maladies. It would be interesting to read a follow up to this book, perhaps to celebrate a more normal life for this troubled young man.

God’s so Great! By Larry Taylor
GOD IS SO GREAT is a testimonial book by Larry Taylor. The book entails that, there is no storm without God’s grace, for God can never allow us to walk a path where His grace cannot protect us. Sometimes God allowed us to walk through the storm because he wants His Glory to be seen. It is the perfect journey when you know the name of Jesus is guaranteed in your life. In this testimonial book by Larry, we are being spiritually enlightened that, there is no excuse to not be who you want to be. Sometimes we are afraid to walk through adversities and obstacles because our own understanding is full of fear of the unknown. However, when you trust God with everything, you know that, we might not be able to smile every day, but God’s grace is always with us. Sharing your past life is not always that easy, but Larry takes courage to share his life battles and victories, just so that they can inspire someone to keep believing in the wonder work of the Lord. Me being a fan of Christian literature, I enjoyed every bit of this book. Not only did the book entertain me, but is also improved my faith in God. If God can do it for Larry, they He can also do it for me and others who are going through a lot. Having experienced the hand of God in my life, I find peace and confidence in reading this book, because God is so great! It is a book full of preaching, inspirational, and spiritual motivational encounters. If one is a fan of Christian literature, then this book is not a miss. Each page of this book is a teaser, it keeps pushing you to read more and more. When you reach at the last page, you will surely see and agree with the author that, GOD IS SO GREAT!

Thank you to Booktasters and the author for this copy.

This is Larry’s story, since his birth, Larry went through the unimaginable. From having a rough childhood, to foster care, to the awful babysitter that he and his brother had to bear her and her abuse. And having to live with different family members.

Larry’s life didn’t get any easier as he was growing up, he battled with drugs, drinking, and anxiety attacks. In 2016, he was diagnosed with cancer and on top of that, he lost his home. But Larry didn't let life bring him down.

I like how Larry used his story to offer inspiration for others and to help them not lose hope no matter how dark things get. I also liked that the book ends with some of Larry’s favorite verses songs, and prayers that helped him through the dark times.

One of my favorite quotes from the book is “All I got to do is keep God first, and giving my all and doing everything I could do and know God would handle the rest.” It was nice to be reminded once more and I think this quote sums up the entire book quite well.

This book is the true life story of Larry Taylor. Tells of his life’s challenges, trials, and overcoming them through determination, courage, trust and faith in God. It is a story of inspiration, hope, courage, family, love, triumph, and above all, faith. It encourages the reader to know and believe that anything is possible and circumstances can change, no matter how dark or bleak things may seem.

It is briefly told yet with the important aspects and events of his life highlighted. Such that the reader is able to have a general understanding of the circumstances of his life. One is able to have a knowledge of his background and life.

It is a good book for someone who is in despair, or for anyone who needs encouragement and inspiration. It certainly did inspire me and motivate me into having more faith and hope under any circumstances. Great read!

This is a book about overcoming obstacles in life and about never giving up.

In the book, Larry teaches us how how believing in God can change the way you look at things and how every problem he has gets solved. He also includes at the end of the book some prayers to use at different times of the day.

The only thing I didn't like so much about the book is that sometimes the sentences are very long.
I would really recommend to read the book at least once in a lifetime.

A testament to the power of God in our lives. Reading his story reminded me of my own upbringing and finding my own faith in God.
Every person's journey is different and this story is full of tribulations that would render many lost. He is a survivor. Write the other stories because as you do you will find healing. I wish you and your family happiness. Thank you for sharing your testimony.
