After surviving the Chinese triads, Tomas had joined his saviors on their mission to "cleanse" America off the "untouchable" criminals. Soon, Tomas realizes that being hunted and being the hunter, makes a big difference when it comes to his ability to kill a man. He start to have regrets in joining up the "Agency", the secret organization that is being supported by a rogue "element" of the US government, but doesn't know how to say to them that he wishes to quit. Guilt-ridden and horrified by his own brutal behavior during each mission, whilst unable to admit that he lost his stomach for "it" at the same time, Tomas spirals down mentally.
"I have tried that before! I tried to walk away so many times. I would rather live and let be. But you, or someone else has to always push on me the right way! Threaten me in the right way. Trying to kill me? I can forgive that, you're not the first, nor the last. I kind of got used to it. But you have f*cked up, you tried to kill my friend too. Made me think, what else would you do should you be able to?"
This book is part 3 of 4 series. Fan work dedicated as a tribute to the Linkin Park music band life's work to date, of which the author's inspiration had come from. This book includes references to the songs, that should be played in the background while reading it, for enhanced experience. Note: This book doesn't contain any of the songs referenced in itself, and its purely optional for the reader to gain access to those songs at his own expense. As use of those songs is experimental, it doesn't guarantee improved experience compared to 'just' reading of this book.
I’m totally hooked at these series of books. No doubt I feel satisfied with the scenes of these books like with an action movie. Once you use your imagination, you’re addicted to this story, and the plot of the book keeps you needing more and more reading. It’s not the typical predictable book you find in some corners, it’s a rough one. I personally feel identified with the main character because we all have personal issues, we face ourselves with hard decisions, and every single one leads us to a new one, no matter how easy or hard may it be.
This is one of my favorite books, and I personally recommend reading it and putting into the character shoes and remember what is to face really hard decision. This one is totally worth every single penny invested in it.
Now I’m coming into this book with no knowledge of the previous two installments, so this review will be based solely on what was read in this installment. The author’s blend of music not only from Linkin Park but other great artists acts as a written soundtrack for the reader, highlighting the emotional and action fueled scenes that play out throughout the novel.
While the writing of the story could use some refinement in terms of grammar and editing in general, the overall story is filled with great action and intense scenes that showcase the hero’s journey to stop threats like slavery rings, all while focusing on the relationships between the protagonist and the team he works with.
The Verdict
Overall this was an interesting, unique and creative fusion of musical inspiration and action fueled psychological thriller. If this story is any indication of the author’s vision, this is a series worth jumping into feet first. A bit of polishing off with the editing will make this book shine even brighter, and readers will delight in imagining the emotions and feelings running through the characters in connection with each track the author lists. This book is part 3 of 4 series by the author Tomas Cudzis who’s done an amazing job at keeping me hooked and wanting what happens next. After recovering from the fight with the Chinese triads, Tomas decided to join an organization that goes by the name ‘The Agency’ in the USA that kills criminals. He realized he had a lot of blood on his hands from killing people and started to question himself, am I a killer? Is this how justice works? Tomas wanted to leave ‘The Agency’ as soon as possible, but couldn’t get around it because it was protected by the American government. He longed for his old simple life, and missed his family from back home and decided to talk to them, he found out how hurt they were by his absence, so he realized he had a lot of explaining to do. Missions got bigger than he expected, he now fights terrorists. But none of it was pleasureful to him. I found part 3 very Compelling and captivating. Great characters that draw in the reader. The trail to solving this mystery is well developed, I look forward to read part 4.
I'm some kind of girl I never learn my lesson, so, I'm re-writing the same advice: NEVER read THIS BOOK while eating. The scenes, the plot, and how with strong will can keep you up no matter what even when you are fighting against yourself, even with fears... That's is the spirit of a fighter.
I'm heading to read the next chapter, but anyone interested in this one: IT'S WORTH IT!!! Pure electronic gold, believe me.
One of the best parts I’ve read so far. How action and plot, drama and hard decision leaves from one to another scenario… I doubt so far there is any book like this one, and with music… You feel like you’re watching live every single step in HD. Can't say that much, don't want to spoiler you guys, you'll love it from the begining to end this book.
In this part, as I put myself symbolically in the persona’s shoes as it helps me connect with his emotional state throughout the scenes. I see a man that is stuck in doing something he would rather leave because he is tied down by a haunting past. His options are limited and he has to go with the flow or face tougher consequences. I am loving where this story is headed. It isn’t as predictable because you can never be too sure when the plot will take a turn. Like every good movie, it keeps you hoping for the best for the main character whether they are right or wrong. Seeing things from their perspective gives you a better understanding of why they do what they do, even if you wouldn’t condone their conduct in real life. Can’t wait to read part 4!
