Sleepless is back, and I couldn't be happier! In the short hiatus between arcs, I'd actually forgotten how much I missed and adored this series. And this arc starts off very strongly indeed...
But I'm so frustrated. I can't believe Poppy is going to marry Helder. Dude has a**hole coming off him a mile away. Lady Orleni is so cool, the bullsh*t she has to put up with is infuriating. And the King, real piece of work. Can he stop thinking about his own power for a few seconds to know he is f*cking things up.
Anyway I feel like I'm gonna pull out my hair over these character. I hope there will be another issue soon.

I really like the writing in this, and while the art is usually stellar as well, this issue in particular had a kind of shocking number of panels that were completely absent of backgrounds, with some noticeably sketchier pencils at times as well. Considering the four month gap between #6 and #7, I really hope the artwork in the upcoming issues returns to its usual quality.
This issue, as with every issue of Sleepless, was visually beautiful. Some of our beloved characters are growing and maturing, and others are sleeping/in a magic-induced coma. The pacing in this issue is maddeningly slow. And the tease for it was misleading - everything you thought might take place in this issue will likely happen next issue.
Fear not! I really believe next issue is going to have a lot of the reveals and plot twists and resolutions of certain plot lines we've been waiting for. This issue, however, is just a teaser. But a pretty one so I can't complain too much. I'm really in love with the way characters' looks changed this issue to depict the passing of time. I'll be interested to see how our sleeping beauty reacts to all of the new hairdos and styles when he is reintroduced to society...
All in all, not a bad issue but I think it works because at this stage reader's are pretty much dedicated/too invested not to hang on for issue #8.
