This novel focuses majorly on Taria Cross and Michael Vaughn. Taria is struggling with her identity and trying to figure out who she is still, while Michael, on the other hand, is hiding who he is. When people and secrets are exposed, will they be able to push past the consequences and accept their fate? Or will their future bring them crumbling down? Taria and Michael have been carrying around like the Van Allan family are their biggest enemies. However, once some things come to light, they may realize the puppet master is more significant than the family that is trying to destroy them.

This book was awesome and I am on to the nest one. This is a very good paranormal romance with African American characters. I am a huge fan of Taria and Michael and want to see them kick butt! I would recommend that anyone who likes Paranormal Romance to give this series a try. I can't wait for more!

Good & annoying

I understand the importance of trying to have black women be strong, but your also making them look stubborn. So much stuff can be prevented, but it’s like everyone is dumb and repetitive. Michael new he smelled sulfur from amber, but chose to ignore it instead of addressing it then and there, but he’s “king”. They are loosing so much and the story is dragging because of dumb shit that anyone should know that is going through so much. Black people are always on edge and suspicious, but yet the are ignoring everything that matters and asking all the wrong questions.

Solid 1.5 rounded down! There are glaring issues that knocked what would be a 4 star continuously down. The typos are almost unbearable. The switching POVs honestly leads me to want this and the previous books to have been written in 3rd person. At some point I think that the sex is just written for the sake of sex it’s often out of place and used to quell a problem. The characters lack emotional maturity going back and forth with their emotions from one second to the next. Finally we get everyone is an asshole and Taria is fat there is no need to say it as often as it in WE GET IT! Overall the only thing that allows this to still have a star and half I’m my book is the concept is pretty decent I think that the story (given were 3 books in atp) has potential But istg between “asshole” “fat ass” and the typos I’m not sure if I can make it to the conclusion

Too much

While I am invested to see this series through to the end for some resolution, I am becoming annoyed with how the story is being told. This poor girl has way to much going on in her life to no doing on her own and not only that she is way too immature to be able to handle any of it. I’m hoping that some time soon she finds herself and make some adult decisions. Also as I’m reading I’m finding that the information given is contradicting what I read in previous chapters.

E. Bowser yet again pulls the reader in. Page after page you are thrown into the events and scenarios as being apart of it. Making this series a definite page turner and the cliff hangers on the ends makes you immediately get the next one. Amazing work!!!
