As the description didn’t really give plot information, I included brief descriptions with my reviews. Cowboy Doctor - Slow start so I guess it’s what some would consider a “slow burn”. Dual POV. Some heat and some humor. The steamy parts were usually pretty short and could have been better written. The plot was fine (switch of the “guy must get married in order to get/keep/obtain whatever”). The “cowboy” wasn’t so much “alpha” as he just had a lot of masculine qualities. Cowboy Roommate - Still a slower burn but I enjoyed it more than Cowboy Doctor. Dual POV with an interesting plot (city girl living on a ranch for research for her next book). Good amount of heat and humor without a crazy amount of drama. The cowboy was more “alpha” but had a shy side rather than a jerk side. My only complaint is that I wish that the epilogue contained more of a status update with regards to the states of the ranch and Hailey’s career. Single Dad Cowboy - Cute plot (famous country singer gets stranded and stays on a ranch with cowboy dad) which contributed to the slow and secretive nature of the romance. Dual POV. The steamy parts were on the shorter side again but overall a good amount of heat and humor. Cowboy Christmas - This book seemed to drag on but it was still pretty good. Dual POV with some heat and some humor. Good plot (horse rescue girl falls for restaurant cowboy with some mystery sabotage; Christmas isn’t really a factor until close to the end). Shorter steamy parts but I expect that now. Cowboy Ride Me - This is the “enemies to lovers” plot between a bull rider and his best friend’s sister (who also competes at the rodeo in barrel racing). Dual POV. Good story with some humor. Same heat level as the others. Overall, this collection relied on the females being the more “alpha” over the males, especially in the bedroom. The language wasn’t too bad and the steamy scenes weren’t as descriptive as some other books. Depends on your preference as to whether that’s a good thing or not.
The stories weren't bad; the details were. An author should know what he or she is talking about before making errors that diminish the quality of the writing.
The word "motorbike" is NEVER interchangeable with "motorcycle" if you know what you're talking about. Yes, motorcycles are called "bikes", but never motorbikes. My motorcycle is in the garage, so I feel competent to comment on this.
Horses don't have "fur" - they have coats. I've shown, bred, and ridden horses for over 50 years and never has a horse's coat been referred to by anyone I've ever come into contact with as"fur".
One story mentioned "barrel riders." When young boys start out with the dream of riding bulls, they are introduced to a barrel hanging by ropes in the middle of four posts secured into the ground. Their buddies/siblings yank on the ropes so the barrel becomes a "bull.". THAT is a barrel rider. What was really meant by the author - - and later correctly identified, was barrel RACING.
Finally, this is a gray issue of sorts in that we seem determined to ruin the English language. The word "who" is used when referring to a person or perhaps a pet. The word "that" is used when referring to inanimate objects. This writer used "that" when referring to people, pets, and inanimate objects.
Cowboy and western themed books are not my usual tropes, however, this box set is pretty entertaining. There are five stories in this set and each one, though having similar outcomes (ending in HEA), is different in the sub theme (medical, single dad, etc). This set is recommended. I have more issues with how the authors name is spelled... Christian, Christiian, Christiaan.. yes it’s spelled differently on various outlets which makes it difficult to find the actual book/set. I received this set for a voluntary, completely honest and non incentivized review.
These are excellent stories,,,awesome plots but the ebb and flow was choppy. I am a very detail oriented person and when it was very detailed.....it was not necessary. Then there was the times when there was no detail and felt rushed to get to the next plot in the story. I have it a 4star because all could have been excellent with a bit of editing here and there. But overall good stories.
Well written must read set of books. Hot cowboys and the women they meet. It is exciting, emotional, hot and steamy, surprising and so much more. I really enjoyed this set of books. They kept my attention and I couldn't put them down until the end. I was given a review copy and voluntarily review it.
This is a great box set that includes five stories about people finding love. Each story brings its own aspect to the set as a whole. The first book about a surgeon that has PTSD will drawn you in and the others will keep you captivated until the end. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend it to any book lover.
This whole set was great from beginning to end.Iloved all characters they were torn about relationships but then the chemistry between them was to much .And the ended result was in like then in love great set. Christian!!!!! I recommend all you cowboy lovers read this set!!!
A bundle of 5 books with sexy cowboys that are about to find what real love is like. Each book has their own story that will keep you intrigued from the first page. I felt that the books were well written and the characters were very enjoyable.
Each of the five stories are fantastic! They’re all going to keep the pages turning and leave you begging for more. So Hot!!!!! I can’t decide which story is my favorite, or which characters I’m more in love with. I’m voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book.
A collection of the romantic adventures for cowboys and the women they meet. Each story has its own drama containing action, intrigue and how they overcame road blocks before reaching their happy endings.
I enjoyed the premise of these stories, however they were all a bit too wordy. It’s nice to set a scene, but there seemed to be far too much nitty gritty in each story. That being said it was nice that each one ended in a happily ever after
Not my usual reading material but thought I'd try something new and different. Even a new author to me. Well I was pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed the stories immensely. They were well written and very entertaining. Will be looking for more from this author.
5 book series and I didn't bother with the last one. Author obviously not American trying to write about an American icon: the cowboy. The idiosyncrasies of the language differences made it tough to concentrate. The characters were less believable as a result.
Each book is based on a different Cowboy and boy are they hot. You are pulled I to the stories and they hold you captive. This is a first from this author for me and it definitely won't be the last.
Really enjoyed this box set. But then who doesn't love Cowboys? Lol Five great stories. I'm voluntarily leaving an honest review for a copy of the book set.
Enjoyed reading these books. No cliff hangers. Like reading from each character's feelings and thoughts. Showing they were not always sure of how things would go.
Loved each and every book well worth the read treat yourself and enjoy the ups and downs of each book you won't be disappointed by the ride it takes you on so enjoy
