“People die or leave when you need them most. Nothing is ever certain. Nothing is ever sure.” – Kailor Smith

When Kailor Smith’s mother dies, her life crumbles. Completely. Still looking out for her in death, Asia sends Kailor on a journey of self-discovery. The journey, meant to be a six-month path of fun and finding purpose, leads Kailor to Finley Trails where she temporarily lives with her brother Kai… and his best friend and bandmate Zion Johnson.

Zion Johnson is convinced that he has only two things to offer the world – his music and his manhood. Nothing more, like love, but definitely nothing less. After losing his parents at a young age, he’s convinced it’s his job to protect every damsel that comes his way. Even his best friend’s sister. No matter how much his best friend wants him to stay away.

As Kailor and Zion’s paths collide, they find themselves on a journey of healing and love together. There’s just one problem; their union is forbidden. Not only could their relationship destroy Zion and Kai’s friendship, but it also has the potential to ruin their band and all of the success they’ve built. The odds are stacked against them, and for a while they are even at war with their own feelings, but Kailor and Zion must choose between love or the numbing pain they have both accepted as their truths.

This was a good read though there were some sad, tear-jerking parts. I was hoping Kai would mark off some of her bucket lists items & find love. Nicely written enjoyable read.

Unconditional love

The Love We Seek: A Forbidden Love Story by B. Love is a good read. It’s a emotional, connection, commitment, communication, forgiveness and heartbreak from this book. B. Love teaches her readers how the communication and understanding are the most important for relationships.

Kailor and Zion have a good connection with friendship and relationship. They have their ups and downs but they realize that the communication is the most important for them. They’re understanding, commitment and forgive to each other but they’re not afraid to telling their goals, and loss. I understand that Kai is good protective and good brother to Kailor.

I didn’t like Kailor’s step father and biological father because they weren’t there for her. I can’t wait to read part 2 of this book.

Good read:

great read

of course you never disappoint and this book was really good. Kai was so against Zion and Kailor being together in the beginning I wanted him to but out. I'm glad that they got it together in the end and I can't wait for more from these guys. I can't wait till Kai find love at his door.

Quite the magical love story.
I loved these two. B never disappoints. It's so much detail that is in this story, it'll make you feel like like you're really in "Finley Trails."

Mama knows best

People may die or leave when we think we need them most but God is always on time. Zion was sent right on time for Kailor. He brought her out of that shell and had her living her best life. Yea she ran but it was just a need to analyze.

The Love We Seek is the first novel in a standalone series by B. Love. We meet Kailor, a young woman reeling from the recent loss of her mother. Life leads her to Finley Trails where she goes to stay with her brother and his band. One of his band members, Zion, peaks her interest almost immediately.

These two quickly begin a…friendship that is about healing, surviving loss, and living life but also stretches the bounds of love. A friendship that is firmly forbidden by Kailor’s brother, Kai.

Kailor has lived a sheltered life until her mother passed away. Zion is an unexpected yet calming presence as she works through the next phase of her life. Both characters sought a love that they had longed for (even if unknowingly) and never experienced that they found in each other.

These two should not be together, more people are against it than they are for it. Kailor has to learn to trust Zion, to not immediately walk away because of fear or lack of information. Zion must learn to open up his heart to another and experience feelings he’s long shut off to the world. They both have to believe in their connection and drown out the outside opinions that don’t quite understand their bond.

In The Love We Seek, Individually, both characters stood out. They were carefully developed and so even when I was annoyed with their decisions or wanted to shake one of them over some BS, I understood their motivations and their way of thinking. There were also really solid secondary characters and I’m definitely interested in reading their stories.

"The Love We Seek" by B. Love

My Assessment:

"The Love We Seek" was a good love story featuring Kailor and Zion. What will happen after Kailor Smith's mother dies, sending her on a six-month journey of self-discovery. What will Kailor find on this ride after he goes to stay with her brother Kai in Finley Trails and meets his best friend and bandmate Zion Johnson?
Will there be a change in Zion's way of living after these two lives collide, finding themselves healing and loving each other? How will these two being together caused trouble in this relationship between this brother and sister? That brother of Kailor needed to but out, even though he felt the need of being able to help his sister, but was he helping? The reader can be left with the thought that Kai needs a life of his own and to let his sister live her life. Be ready for 'some sad parts, emotional, connection, commitment, friendship, communication, forgiveness, and heartbreak' from this read as Kailor makes off their bucket list items that her mom had left her to do. To understand this good read, the reader will have to pick up 'The Love We Seek' to see how well this author brings us an epic love story.

Love ❤

This story is about a 21 year old woman, named Kailor. Kailor’s mother has passed away recently and this has completely caused a shift in her world. Upon finding what her mother “left” behind for her, she embarks on a journey of self discovery. & I enjoyed every bit of her finding herself & Zion ❤

There were so many things that made this a great read. B gave us characters that we watched grow throughout the story. In addition to great character development, we were blessed with a well executed plot! We even got someone to hate because I literally CANNOT STAND Kai.

If you’re a romance junkie, this is definitely a must read! Can’t wait to hear from my girl Frankie next!

Happy Tears

I cried the whole time while reading this book. My gown and pillow are wet with tears. I absolutely love this book. Zion and Kailor were absolutely adorable! Talking about some developed characters, B I could punch you in the face honey. You are the only author I know that can make love and music feel like you're cheating in them; like you can't be with the both of them. If any of you decide to read this book and don't cry, you need to be slapped lol. It's that good. I recommend this book to everyone; especially the mushy people. Just be prepared to go on and emotional roller coaster.

This was cute but a little bit deceiving!!!

When it was said that it was a stand alone I jumped on it but after reading it, falling in love with Zion and Kailor, and at the end, it was mentioned if we wanted to know more about there love, read book 2, I felt deceived because there wasn't going to be any way for not reading book 2 as these characters were the bomb"...
It was very refreshing to have so many characters involved and yet to be able to concentrate on these two was awsome. You really could fall, laugh and relate to them. I thought these two were the perfect combination.

Loved it ❤❤

I love the whole storyline, I don't like the fact that someone had to die in order for Kailor to feel the type of love she never felt before not even from her mother but I felt like it was all worth it in the end. In my eyes Zion was dangerous because he never dealt with his feelings with anyone before but he was safe for Kailor because they were so meant to be. I also loved the idea of the bucket list and made Kailor live in the moment and not have any worries. Great read B!!!!

Love sets you free

So many emotions ran through me as I read this story. I started off with sadness and then anger but by the time Kailor and Zion meal other, I felt hope. I was in the same emotionally journey I felt reading Jacinta Howard’s first book in her Prototype series Happiness in Jersey. The Wanderers remind me so much of them. I can see so many journeys being explored with this group. I’m glad it began with Kailor and Zion because they are such an example of the freedom true love brings and how it heals.

I absolutely enjoyed reading Kailor and Zion's story. I enjoyed watching them both grow into exactly what the other needed. Kady became everything her mother knew she would due to Zion pushing her to blossom. Zion stepped away from his fears and learned to open up and talk because of the presence of his Kady Baby.
I was over Kai the first time he tried to keep them apart. I completely understand being protective of your little sister, but dude let that girl live her life. It's funny how he thought he was running something, but Zion was just trying to keep the peace because of Kady.

GREAT READ

I enjoyed this book. Very refreshing. I loved Kailor and Zion story. Two opposites that attract instantly while trying to figure out what path to take in life. Kailor the lost soul who tries to navigate through life without the sheltering of her mother and Zion a young man trying to survive by any means necessary until he no longer wants to live the life hes been living. Very well written love story and looking forward to the next journey Kailor and Zion will be on together.

So I agree with the other reviewer, this must be a movie or TV show

I loved every moment of this story and watching the growth of Zion and Kailor as individuals and in their relationship. A part of me could relate to Kailor in how she reacted to meeting new people and being in new situations. Idk what's up with Kai being overprotective but I'm sure it will be told in the next book. I really thought Warren might try to holla at Kailor though but Zion was it for her

Loved it!

Omg! I was absolutely in love with Zion. He was so sweet mixed with a side of thug and I understood why Kailor made the decisions she made. Dealing with losing her mom/best friend then doing what she thought was best for Zion because she loved him so much. I don’t want to spoil it but I’m so glad this book had a happy ending. I was rooting for Kailor and Zion from the very beginning.

Kailor and Zion

This story was so poetic.. it flowed so nicely!! I went through all types of emotions but I really fear these characters. I understood their logic or their thinking. I knew where they were coming from. Kailor was pure and kind but can be feisty when tested. Zion is strong and passionate but soft and caring as well. The way their energies were drawn to each other made up an epic love story!!!!

Conflicted Rating

I’ve rated “The Love We Seek: A Forbidden Love Story” 3.5 ⭐️’s. This book was an okay read, bot honestly it was difficult to follow. More so, Kailor’s immaturity was just annoying. However as frustrating as her character is/was, I need to remember she’s only twenty-one/two years old and has clearly lived a sheltered life. Thereafter, Kailor & Zion’s friendship with benefits is interesting. Hopefully as the series progresses so will Kailor & Zion. …🤷🏾‍♀️

Loved it

This was such a great book I loved the way Zion was so drawn to kailor and helped her grow. I know how hard it can be after losing a parent or parents. I genuinely felt the emotions on both kailor and Zion’s end. That’s how well written this was. Not like I was expecting anything different from B!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Another 5 star read!! I definitely loved me some Zion!! I loved that his character was different from what I usually read. I loved how he handled Kailor. I admired his hustle. I was so happy when Kady stopped allowing Kai to influence her and quit running from her feelings for Zion.

Cute!!!

As always, I like the diversity in your characters. Poor Kailor!!! I admire the relationship she had with her mom but it makes me appreciate my relationship with mine. We are not buddy buddy but we are our separate person. Just like in relationships we can become too dependent on the very essence of the comfort it brings to where we are lost without them...

Really good

I laughed and cried and went on the rollercoaster with them. I loved that they were exactly what each other needed and didn’t understand it completely. They made each other better and it’s exactly what we all want to find in our lives. I can’t wait to read Frankie’s story and get my updates on these two.

Refreshing Romance

I love when I find an author whose writing is similar to mine. Zion and Kailor's story was told with real strokes of reality. I loved that Zion was a regular, boy next door that was rough around the edges and that Kailor was trying to find herself. You have a new fan, B. Love.
