2003, oversize trade paperback edition, later printing, Scholastic, NY. Children's title; delightful. A certain moose has a wobbly tooth. He's looking for the tooth fairy, but the tooth won't fall out. Moose and his animal buddies decide to give it a big tug. Cute; lovely color illustrations.
My first grade teacher gave this book to me when I lost my first tooth. Reading it now as an adult, this book is NOT IT. Easily the most boring story ever. The repetition didn’t interest me—in some stories that works, but in this one I feel like it didn’t. The story is so flawed. Moose’s tooth gets knocked loose by running into a tree, but it feels like it’s supposed to be a story teaching children about naturally losing teeth?? I don’t get it. And why does Elephant get the silver dollar?! It wasn’t even his tooth! Why do any of the friends get any money at all?! It was Moose’s tooth! Also, the illustrations are gross. So I’m not a fan. Very cute! Students loved it. It was fun to laugh and act it out a bit. Great illustrations. Added it coming off of Feb. and dental health month. A speech teacher told be about it. Has some repeating phrases so even non-readers can join in.
Modern Fantasy Kindergarten-1st grade This is a silly book that includes the theme of community and teamwork. The moose has a loose tooth and with the help of other animal friends, they get it out to give to the tooth fairy. In return, the tooth fairy gives the elephant and the moose a prize just for helping out. I enjoyed reading this book because I liked how the author teaches young readers to work as a team and to build a community when you need it the most!
Moose has a loose tooth, so he enlists the help of his friends: Bird, Tiger, Zebra, Giraffe, and Elephant. Teamwork does the job. But what happens when you don’t exactly have the tooth to give the tooth fairy? With cute illustrations and a humorous ending, children will be delighted by the tooth fairy’s reaction.
Brilliant!! Love the illustrations. Story has lots of repetition which kids love. I also really liked that they were animals from all around the world... because you know how a moose and elephant always see each other
This book talks a lot about how to everyone working together can make something happen. The children enjoy saying the same lines over and over again until the tooth fairy comes and leaves a note thanking them all for helping moose to loose the tooth and for the elephant for keeping the tooth safe.
A basic story about a Moose with a loose tooth. Various animals try to help him pull it out and when it finally pops out, Elephant swallows it. So then Moose is worried the Tooth Fairy won't come. I know my niece who just lost a tooth will love this.
I think that this would be a great book to read to children that are about to start loosing their baby teeth to make them more comfortable and not scared about loosing their teeth. This story is so cute and a easy read for kids. Moose tries and gets help from all of his friends to help him loose his tooth!
The students in my group seemed to enjoy this book because it allowed them to share stories abut their loose teeth. Different parts of the story reminded them of things that happened to them or someone they know, they also told me about trips to the dentist. I like that the book repeats a phrase consistently through out it, it's interesting for kids and allows them to catch on to the story line in ways they might not have before. I also like that the author uses describing word that all begin with the same letter and are synonyms when describing moose's tooth.
This cute story about a moose losing his tooth can be used as a great teaching tool. The story is very engaging for students in Kindergarten through 3rd grade-for anyone who is still losing teeth! The author uses the same phrases over and over which can be used to help a new reader become familiar with reading an exciting book. The story can be retold easily and students can practice their prediction skills.
Moose's Loose Tooth by Jacqueline A. Clarke is a cute story. Poor Moose has a loose tooth that will not come out. I like that the book shows all the animals working together. It didn't matter if they were the tallest, strongest or biggest the animals worked as a team. I also liked that everyone who help was thanked by the tooth fairy. I think that this book could be used as a read aloud. Students will love the story as well as the pictures.
I loved this story! I thought it was really cute and well illustrated! I think this book would be great to keep in the classroom library or to use as a read aloud because the book is very funny and it has good pictures. It is also a good book for students to relate to because they at an age where they are losing teeth.
This is an entertaining story about a bunch of wild animals helping Moose pull out his loose tooth. Once the tooth comes out, it disappears! Find out what happens to that missing tooth.
Mom: great book for 4 year old with repetition and rhyme and silly pictures to make you laugh. Also good for when children start losing their baby teeth.
