A Highlander undone... Anyone would go mad if they'd been through 269 years of torment like Jack's. But he will never give up trying to fulfill that promise. A woman out for revenge... Callie cannot forgive the man who has stolen her mother away. Once she hunts him down, she'll make him pay...unless Jack can change her mind about Scotsmen. Maybe two troubled souls can find peace if they stay close to each other.
This is book 44 in the series. You will want to read the first short story, The Gathering, for the background information on the Muir witch before you start the rest of the series. After that, each one can be read as a standalone.
I really enjoyed Jack and Callie’s story. Callie is looking for the man that she thinks has taken advantage of her late mother. What she finds is very different than what she expected. Soni has given Jack his turn to leave the Moor and fulfill his good deed. One that he has waited almost 3 centuries to do. On their journey Jack and Callie learn they can find happiness in the oddest of places.
This starts off as a sad story. Jack is one of the highlanders to defend Scotland at Cullodin, or he was supposed to. He was killed just as the battle started, but he never got to engage the enemy. He was fulfilling a promise to bring milk to a crying baby. That promise replayed every night for 269 years until Soni called him to come forward. Oh and he did meet a young American woman who he fell in love with.
One of the Stories Beginning and Ending in Modern Times That I Liked
Callie and Jack are a bit older than most of the couples, and the major part of the story takes place in Scotland where Callie has gone to confront her stepfather of two years after she learns of her mother's death. There, in a pub, she meets Jack. There is a bit of a time slip for Jack as he walks Drumossie Moor/Culloden Battlefield and completes a long ago task interrupted by his death and earns his boon.
This is another winner. This is my favorite series with all the ghosts and love stories by different authors to make the books interesting and great to read. I highly recommend all the books in this series. 78 ghosts and 78 books. I have 45th book and I can't wait to start it. Diana Romano
He is a 300 year old ghost and she is a 21st century woman who falls for him without knowing him to be a ghost. He believes he has only two days to do his good deed. Read on for more details.
This is a wonderful short story featuring The Culloden ghosts. L.L. Muir brings Jack to life and weaves a tale of regret and second chances. Who doesn't love a good ghost story?!
Another great ghostie. Amazing book. Book clue will be talking about this one for awhile. This book has a little bit of everything in it. You will really enjoy this series. Recommend to everyone.thank you again
This one sure had some extra tidbits in it not only a mystery for future books in the series but Jack finds out something that no other ghost has found out yet! So good that I really wish it was longer to read more about Jack and Callie.
Making my way through this series has been a joy. There are so many different plots but with the same overriding theme. . . A 2nd chance. I'm sure many of us would lot a 2nd chance not to mention a hot Highlander . . . Sigh
When her mother dies, Callie goes to Scotland to discover the truth. Along the way, she acquires a step-father, and a longed for husband. But is he a ghost?
I just loved the story of the Milk Man. Good suspense, and as always true love found at the end. Thank you L.L. Muir and others for bringing the 79 to life.
I was a tad confused at this story about the ghost lady and baby needing milk And Jack needing to finally get her the milk. She he story was however fun and romantic
