This is my little girl Jess' own review (with some input from Mom on spelling and grammar). Jess is 9.
I really like the Thea Stilton books. They are really interesting and fun to read. I decided to go on to this book 'cause I couldn't find Thea Stilton And The Dragon's Code. D: So in this book the main characters are the Thea Sisters which is a team of mouselets consisting of Nicky, Colette, Violet, Paulina, and Pamela. Nicky is from Australia and she's claustrophobic (meaning that she hates tight spaces.) Colette is from France and she likes to shop a lot. Violet is from China and she's always calm and she likes to drink green tea. Paulina is from Peru and she's a real computer genius! Pamela is from Tanzania and her most favorite food in the whole world is pizza XD.
In this story, the Thea Sisters went to Australia to solve a mystery involving ill sheep at Nicky's ranch. They soon figured out that a mouse called Mortimer McCardigan was the cause of the problem. Then Nicky's grandmother, Naya, told her to take a necklace with a picture of her clan on it. Nicky took the necklace with her on her journey to find the ancient Australian aborigines. When they found the aborigines, Nicky asked the elders if they knew a cure for the sheep illness. Then she soon figured out that the medicine that she needed was right inside her necklace all along! After that they heard a horrifiying shriek. It was Mortimer McCardigan, and he fell into a canyon (but he was able to survive ....LOL... what?)
So the Thea Sisters came to help him. And finally, Nicky and the other Thea Sisters returned home, to Nicky's ranch and got a letter from Mortimer saying that he was sorry. And that was the story.
I like the story and I find it interesting because I learned things about Australia that I didn't know. (One of the facts was: "The wallaby is a marsupial of tiny dimensions. It can reach a height of 12 to 40 inches, while the red kangaroo can grow to 5.5 feet tall. Kangaroos and wallabies can be found throughout Australia. They live in the desert and in wooded and rocky places".)
Thank you for reading and I hope you like it! -Jess
The second book in the Thea Stilton series, this book centers around the Thea Sisters traveling to Australia to help Nicky solve the mystery as to why one of the flocks of sheep is very sick while the other two are fine. Nicky being very concerned has decided to leave school, but the other girls will not let her leave on her own as they know that she will need the help of all of the girls in order to solve the mystery. The headmaster allows them to leave even though this does not normally happen, so the girls head off to Australia to help Nicky and her family solve the mystery and get the sheep well again before the great shearing set for a months time. The girls overcome many challenges along the way but work together to get it all done.
I enjoyed this book, was well written and I enjoyed the tidbits of information about Australia that was offered to the reader. I also like the magnifying glass that pops up at times so that the reader is able to help solve the mystery along with the Thea Sisters in the book. Such a good book
I thought the book was really good. It was good because the four friends tried to help the other friend which just led them to another mystery. It was just cool because it had an unexpected twist.
This is a cute little children's novel. I really loved all the little extras and explanations about Australian geography, climate and aborigine culture and customs.
When I was little, for some reason, I never did like the Thea Stilton stories quite as much as the Geronimo Stilton stories and that hasn't changed. Similarly, I still find the sheer amount of crazy artistic fonts annoying and distracting find that they negatively effect my ability to follow and enjoy the story.
I am so charmed by these kids' colorfully illustrated mysteries, I just can't seem to resist them! In this one, Aussie mousling Nicky gets a call from home where the sheep are all sick and losing their wool. Off Thea's sisters go to Australia and an adventure that takes them around Australia, ending at an aboriginal gathering inside Uluru. As reader helps the mouslings save the sheep, lots of interesting information on Australia is shared and puzzles sprinkled to solve.
There are some wonderful 'adult' bits too.
“Hmm, what should I read?” I wondered. Eat, Squeak, Love. I’d read it already. T HE M ONA M OUSA C ODE . That was a great mystery That be my fave. Also [T]the food was whisker-licking good!"
the answer to her problem was with her the whole time ! why didn't the grandma just tell her from the start ?? her grandma just wanted her to go meet the elders? and go through all that trouble that they went through ? like I just felt that was a waste of time reading all that about their adventure loool that annoyed me honestly. but asides from that I really liked the fun facts about Australia mentioned through the book. I didn't even know a lot of the stuff. very educational.

A really fun and interesting book. This book was an easy and fast paced novel. I thought the plot was interesting. I loved the facts and info on Australia. Tea Sisters teach you the value and importance of friends and family which I respect this novel for.
"Thea Stilton and the Mountain of Fire" is an enchanting and adventurous tale that takes young readers on a thrilling journey into Australia. The story follows the Thea Sisters as they embark on a daring expedition to Australia to save the sheep!
One of the strengths of this book is its engaging narrative style. The author employs a lively and interactive writing approach, incorporating colorful fonts, illustrations, and maps that add an extra layer of excitement to the storytelling. The characters are well-developed, each possessing unique personalities that make them relatable to young readers. The emphasis on teamwork, friendship, and problem-solving also imparts valuable lessons in a subtle and entertaining manner. The author seamlessly weaves educational elements into the narrative, providing readers with interesting facts.
The illustrations by the talented team add charm to the book, enhancing the visual appeal and aiding in comprehension for younger readers. The combination of engaging writing and captivating visuals creates an immersive reading experience that will surely capture the attention of children.
I'll make sure I read the next book faster than I did this one, which at the time of this review, has been a year and a month. Oops.
Other than that, The Mountain of Fire was a fun little adventure. I liked seeing the Sisters work more together and cheer each other up when times got stressful, learn more about places in Australia, laugh at some trails and tribulations of the main antagonist, and follow a journey that was tedious at points, but paid off in the end.
Geronimo's adventurous sister Thea narrates this fabulous adventure that's packed with action, mystery, and friendship! Thea's friends the Thea Sisters take off for Australia to solve a mystery. A flock of sheep at Nicky's family's ranch is losing all its wool, and the ranch depends on the wool to stay afloat.
I’m reading my 11-year-old daughters favourite Thea Stilton books and I must say it was really cool! I learned a little about Australia’s culture, history, places and phrases. Both educational and fun with a cool storyline. Lovely illustrations too which really bring the book to life. Looking forward to the next one!
I'm reading this series with my 7 year old daughter, and we are both enjoying it. This one was particularly interesting to me because I'm a huge fan of all things Australian. The title was a bit misleading, we thought there would be a volcano but there wasn't.
This is the worst Thea Stilton book i have ever read. I am not ever going to read this again. I hated the plot. The 2 stars i have given are because:- I love 'Thea Sisters' The writing style was good.
A flock of sheep at Nicky's australian ranch was losing all its wool and no one knew why this strange thing was happening. Nicky's grandmother had called her to help and so they had a ride to the whole of Australia to find out what was weird. I really recommend this book for its so interesting. Hope you would read this book soon. Happy reading!
i got this book as a present when i was little and i remember being OBSESSED with it and the characters. i wanted to reread it for the nostalgia but maybe it's better not to risk messing up the nice memory i have of the series
