Lanawyn a promis à Lah’saa de trouver le moyen de changer les elfes Noirs Lea’yn et Feda’yn en elfes Rouges. Alors que le lien qui l’unit au crystal bleu semble de plus en plus distendu, elle et ses alliés doivent affronter mille périples afin que puisse renaître la dynastie Rouge. Mais dans l’ombre, certains se sont ligués et ont engagé la compagnie Noire pour les empêcher d’accomplir leur dessein.

Istin continues the story of Lanawyn, whom we last saw in Elves Vol. 16: Red Like Lava. She is on a quest to restore the Red Elves with the two last members of the species. The catch is that they've turned to the Dark Elves, and the only way to reverse the curse is nothing but a rumor. Istin brings back one of his old characters, charismatic Turuk from Turuk, whose story we read in the first issue of the Orcs and Goblins series. And there is a mercenary Black Legion following them.
It's amazing how much story and details Jean-Luc Istin can pack into 60 pages. Superb writing, action-packed and plot-twisting with great art.

The 21st issue of Elves brings back an "old" favorite- Turok from the very first issue of Orcs! He lives!

Turok is found by the group of blue elves and red elves that are seeking to end the horrifying effects of becoming a dark elf. They think theymay have found a way. Turok and the crew take a journey to see if such a thing is fantasy or truth. The Black Legion has some other plans for this group.

While the events of this issue are momentous for the continuity of this series, I shall not spoil it. As ever, the artwork is excellent and the story is a very good one. I enjoyed the return of Turok, as well as the story behind the research into the cure.

This entire series, from Orcs to Elves, has been superb. I hope to find more of this series (and I know there are more such as Druids), but it is a French comic and hardly known in the US. That is a shame as this entire series holds true to the best of fantasy writing and the artwork is usually excellent.

I loved this book and because I read the first one also today I understand that she had out the blue crystal somewhere safe. Because it wasn't in her possession it would explain why the connection was disappearing. I do have to say the saving of the red elves is a difficult endeavor and the black elves don't want this to happen. I still don't understand why they have a problem with elves going their own way... I'm curious if the next graphic novels have the answer to this problem.

Vingt-et-unième tome de la saga, on approche doucement du trentième tome de cette série. Dans ce tome, nous continuons l'histoire des elfes avec Lanawyn, l'elfe bleue dont le corps a été possédé par Lah'saa, souvenez-vous.

Petit rappel : avant que Lah'saa ne disparaisse, Lanawyn a promis à cette dernière que les Elfes Rouges renaîtrait et nous apprenions aussi que quelques elfes noirs étaient auparavant des Elfes Rouges.

Lanawyn, accompagnée d'elfes bleus et de deux ex-elfes noirs, ils se dirigent vers un lieu où les deux elfes noirs pourraient redevenir rouge. Malheureusement, certaines personnes ne voient pas cela d'un bon oeil ; l'avènement d'une nouvelle race ne convient pas à tout le monde et la fameuse légion noire envoie un capitaine afin de « prévenir » les elfes et les jauger. Néanmoins, Lanawyn ayant promis, elle décide de continuer son périple avec ses compagnons de fortune. Sur le chemin, la compagnie croise plusieurs personnages dont Turuk, demi-orc demi-elfe apparu dans le tome 1 de Orcs et Gobelins, laissé seul pour compte sur une minuscule île déserte.

Bref, on continue de suivre leur aventure mais cela ne semble jamais se calmer. Il y a pas mal d'actions, de beaux combats et certains elfes se méfient tout de même de Turuk, sauf Lanawyn, qui voit le bon fond de ce demi-orc. L'histoire est intéressante en elle-même et j'ai hâte de voir s'il y aura d'autres tomes sur les Elfes Rouges et uniquement sur eux. Sincèrement, ce serait vraiment chouette d'avoir un arc consacré uniquement à ces elfes. En tous les cas, un tome assez sympa à lire et qui peut donner des idées pour des suites.

Фінал міні-арки про відновлення раси багряних ельфів. В якому дають копняка ще кільком сюжетним лініям, бо сам фінал у фіналі слабенький. Ланавін плаває морями, таскаючи за собою кількох трансформованих багряних ельфів і чекає, поки маг Бельторан порішає за неї розгадку прокляття темних ельфів (темні ельфі у цьому всесвіті - штучна раса, яка поповнюється мутантами з інших ельфійських рас, яким не пощастило перетворитися на темних завдяки якійсь давній магії). Темні ельфи лякають лише у флешбеках, бо на роль поганців вже заступив Чорний Легіон. Кілька бійок і плагіат моменту з “Двох башт” потому з ельфів таки знімуть прокляття (у стилі “Кошмару на вулиці В’язів”), і саме це тут найнудніше, бо боротьба з власним звіром у снах заїжджена до дірок. Ну, і коротенькі вагітність та діти з червоною шкірою теж присутні.

А шо по нових сюжетах? А це вже відомі “Війни Аррана”, де люди геноцидять всі фентезі-раси, та катастрофа, що виросла з арки про Лах’Саа та світлих ельфів (теж не обійшлося без вагітності) і наслідком має пробудження (чи звільнення) древніх титанічних істот, які от-от мають крепко трахнути цей сетінг (в плані не струсанути, а саме виграти, ну, ви зрозуміли).
