I love this series...but this installment was a hot fucking mess.
I am hugely bummed out by this, people. HUGELY.
Truly. I was so excited for this, words cannot express what a letdown this was.
I adored books 1-3 in this series. ADORED. I have truly read them all multiple times each. They are go-to's in the treasured "re-read forever" library shelf I keep stocked and catalogued in my mind.
Will everyone who reads them feel that way?
Of course not.
But for me? They check all my personal fave romance cliche boxes.
HARD.
But some of the things I loved most about books 1-3 became the things I hated the most about book 4.
1) The heroine (Eve) from book 1 read like a vapid trophy wife.
2) The MC club seemingly turned into a group of incompetent asshats unable to find their dicks without the aide of the chicks they didn't used to even have around.
3) The wacky characters I loved from books 2 and 3 became TOO wacky.
Too much of pretty much anything is never a good thing. And I can't tell you how many times characters were described as disturbed or unhinged or crazy.
It was constant. In almost every scene, someone had to either SAY how crazy someone was or that someone had to do something ridiculous to prove it. Again.
It became a veritable parody of the humor I loved about books 1-3.
WE GET IT.
Stop beating me over the head with it.
As I said, the wackiness of certain characters was one of my favorite aspects of the previous books. I really liked Sarah's character and I ADORED Maya's character. They were completely batshit, and I dug it; however, their craziness ADDED to those stories without taking anything away from them.
It this book, it's like proving how crazy they were in a push for "quirkiness" became the sole focus of the book.
And the rest of the book suffered for it.
Which made me a sad little bunny.
Regardless, I'm hoping this was a one-off for me.
I'm hoping Snake and Sarah's story is as awesome as I want to be.

So fun!
This series should be made into movies. It is awesome. It has a bit of everything. Hot bikers, hilarious banter, warring factions within the MC, death and mayhem. There is a scene where a female mob assassin has a guy chained to a table and she is about to interrogate him so she turns on the music to Julie Andrew’s “I feel Pretty” and whilst hanging from the ceiling and using a light bulb as a microphone she begins singing “I Feel Stabby” and starts flinging knives into his legs. It’s crazy and funny and bloody!!

Now that that's out of the way I'll say I'm supremely disappointed in this book!!!!! I've rated the previous books 5 stars each and have reread them many times so to say I've been looking forward to this book is a gross understatement!
Basically.............
All the crazy that I loved from Maya and Sarah in the previous books was so exaggerated in this one that they just seemed ridiculous.
Sarah especially with the Julie Andrews music as the soundtrack to her killing was way too OTT.
The back story of them being together at 15 was too young for me
Drex is painted as hotheaded and foolish
Kara started off strong enough to assist a guy in faking his death yet at the first sign of bullets she's weak kneed and ready to black out
Eve has always been sweet but here she's basically Drex's pet
Sarah/AJ was way too crazy
Maya was nothing like her previous self
Drake turned into a whining pussy
The sexy times sucked
Gun play was matrix worthy with bazookas making an appearance 🙄
This started off with Rush acting like he barely cared about Kara, literally in the flip from one chapter to the next he changed into a possessive,over protective,controlling OTT psycho threatening anyone who touches her
There's speculation( not confirmation) that Rush has been celibate (I can't recall from the previous books) while apparently Kara dated and presumably had sex. Lack of actual confirmation of this was just one more thing to annoy the ever living heck out of me!!!
This addition just made my favorite mc series
look like a bad action movie. I'm however hopeful that this author will dial down the crazy in the next book because even with this epic fail I'd really like to get Snake and Sarah's book. All for now I'm going to get my blankie and continue crying in disappointment!

I am gonna grant another 5 star rating to this series.
“At the end of the day, I don’t make friends. I have one thing that keeps me sane, and you don’t want to be the one who kills her off.”
Epic lines like this is why. 🥀
Bloody intense is what it was.
Rush was so much a crazy alpha man, bordering on the psychotic, and yet he totally compelled me. #yesIamweird
My only “downside” is that at times it gets a bit tad too unrealistic. Mainly Maya and definitely Sarah. Don’t get me wrong they are great characters, really intriguing, but they are just on a differently kind of crazy -level.
The story was good as always. Action packed, thrilling, intense and powerful.
Kara is in hiding from her powerful President father hell bent on making her pay for running away all those years ago. Drex(Kara’s brother) need her back to the clubhouse as bait and for her own protection. Who gets charged to bring her back?
Rush. Deliciously, crazy “I-need-to-be-in-control”-Rush.

Oh Man...... CAVEMAN ALERT!! CAVEMAN ALERT!!! I'm in love with a kidnapping, knife and gun wielding, obsessive, controlling nutcase!! Who would have thought i would ever say that?!?! But i am, he's my kinda crazy.... Rush.
From previous books we knew Rush had a thing with Drex's sister, but we didn't really know what happened between them before Kara had to flea for her life from Herrin. With everything going on between Drex and his father, Drex sends Rush to make sure his sister is safe. Rush jumps at the chance. He watches her for months knowing her every move.
When Kara discovers Rush is watching her she fears that Herrin has sent him to finish her off. She takes drastic action in order to escape and continue on with her life as she has for the last 7 years. Normally. She's hurt that it's Rush that is trying to end her and tries to flee. The plan is flawed and goes wrong. She was so close to escape.
Rush knows exactly how she thinks. He's watched her for months so he's prepared for her to flee. He catches her easily and resorts to drastic measures to keep her safe. Of course... He kidnaps her.
From here he takes her back to Halo and the Club she hated and fled from. It's time to end Herrin.
Grab a club Rush and drag me back to your cave!!! I'm your's!!! lol I'm actually a little surprised i loved him so much. I always liked him in past books even though he was a bit of a loner but this book shows you him in all his cray cray glory and i bloody loved it!! Yes he's slightly controlling... ok he's way over the top controlling and protective and bat shizz crazy to boot but you seriously can't help loving his brand of crazy. His love and devotion and years of waiting for Kara make you forgive him anything.
Kara is very different from what i imagined. I thought she may be a little bratty princess with a deadly attitude. But she was none of that. She's quite innocent really. Despite being born into the club no one really paid her much attention so she was only ever jaded by her father. This made her a little naive to club life. She's a little lost i guess. Never fitting in with the club or with normal people but when she's with Rush she finds her place. Where she can be herself and feel all the love she missed out on.
The plot and story line is captivating and will keep you turning the pages until you've read the lot. I delayed finishing it, well i tried... it lasted maybe an hour and i had to know how it ended!! This book is action packed full of kidnappings and traps and double crosses, then throw in some torture and a huge body count and you have an amazing read. But that's not all! Then CM Owens throws in some intense, very satisfying love scenes mostly involving cable ties and silk bindings oh my! Some very funny disturbing scenes from our resident crazies The Vagina Squad. And finally an incredible love story that starts from their teenage years and never ends! Epic!
I'm gutted the next book will be the last. I want more more more!!! I devour every word this author writes but this series is one of my faves of her's. I love it when she goes quite dark she has a massive talent for it.
If you love your MC series on the darker side so get this book. This series. I guarantee you will not be disappointed!

Well this is hard because there are parts I like and parts I don't. Plus - warning.... you won't get the ending of this series.
Kara (Drex's sister) has been in hiding since she was 15. She knew her evil dad, Herrin (former MC Prez), had murdered both hers and Drex's mom. She had tried to get Herrin arrested but he found out about her plan and has been trying to kill her ever since. Rush (crazy ass MC member) was her first and only love. When she asked him to run away with her, he chose to stay with the club. He's also been looking for her ever since, but for a different reason.
When Drex spills that he's always known where his sister has been hiding, he sends Rush to capture her and bring her home so that she can help take down Herrin.
Kara quickly discovers that Rush isn't going to let her get away again, even if it means keeping her chained to his side.... literally.
We still get all the crazy antics from the other characters. In the last book we had two enemies the MC was after. This book might get rid of one of those enemies, I'm not convinced that they really do.
Several issues. For one thing, there just wasn't enough sex. The first time they get physical isn't until the 50% mark and then it's interrupted before it even gets good. I really hate when author's do that. Then, the same crazy antics are repeated over and over. You can only make a joke so many times before it loses its funniness. Drake's issues with the girls always trying to get him in trouble just became stale. Talking about how crazy Sarah and Maya are lost its punch because it was repeated about 500 times in the book.
I really do love Rush. He was fun to read. I still think it's a decent book.
Now the sad part - you'll never get an ending to this series, and you'll never get the love story for Sarah/AJ and Snake/Jude. That's because the author has since passed away.

I mean how much crazy is too crazy right?.
I dread to imagine the kind of crazy Sarah and Jude's book will be after reading this one. This isn't for the faint hearted and you probably have to be a little unstable to vibe with it .. lucky for me nobody ever said I was sane ha!.
Rush honesty is up there on my tally of crazy book boyfriends. What's even scarier is his crazy comes in many forms. He doesn't even try to hide it but what I will say is he uses it to his advantage almost fooling people into believing it's not possible to be that crazy. Yes.. for him it is. Under the homicidal lunatic trendencies is a whole lot of broken with a pinch of sweet in his own very twisted way. I loved him, his character fascinated the shit out of me to the point I could of read a story all about him by himself. Not just for the crazy because behind that is a very smart, cunning, devious but brutally honest man.
Kara grew up with crazy and felt that harsh blow of reality to many times to counts so for her she needed that little piece of normality even if it wasn't real, permanent or realistic. You have to be strong to do what she did at such a young age however underneath the bravery was lot of broken and a desperate need for something safe. Credit where it's due she is capable, smart and ruthless in her own right. But like Rush she had a plethora of issues (serious daddy issues) that over time became so imbedded in her being it changed her. I'm not going to lie I enjoyed and kinda sorta understood why she was so hot for the crazy guy.
These two are 6 sarnies short of a picnic. Emotionally unstable would be the understatement of the century. Why is something that should be so fucking wrong in every way so god damn right to read?. I mean this story brings you EVERYTHING from kidnappings to moments of absolute hilarity that your reduced to crying in fits of laughter. I mean if that doesn't sound like insanity I don't know what will. I can't even touch on the story line because I don't want to spoil it for others number 1. But also because I can't even begin to explain the crazy. The chemistry between these pair is deadly quite literally almost kills them several times. The characters are fucking mental in the best most fucked up psychotic ways. The story line is 100 miles a minute from the first page and continues to run at full throttle until the last damn page. Seriously I need a stiff drink and probably a visit to a quiet place to recover. This book will make you laugh at the most inappropriate shit there is. I feel like I'm in recovery after that crazy rollercoaster but lord was it a fantastic book. They do not disappoint!!!.
Give me Sarah and Jude's book!! Never have I been so scared and excited about a book at the same time ever.

Credit where it's due she is capable, smart and ruthless in her own right. But like Rush she had a plethora of issues (serious daddy issues) that over time became so imbedded in her being it changed her. I'm not going to lie I enjoyed and kinda sorta understood why she was so hot for the crazy guy.
These two are 6 sarnies short of a picnic. Emotionally unstable would be the understatement of the century. Why is something that should be so fucking wrong in every way so god damn right to read?. I mean this story brings you EVERYTHING from kidnappings to moments of absolute hilarity that your reduced to crying in fits of laughter. I mean if that doesn't sound like insanity I don't know what will. I can't even touch on the story line because I don't want to spoil it for others number 1. But also because I can't even begin to explain the crazy. The chemistry between these pair is deadly quite literally almost kills them several times. The characters are fucking mental in the best most fucked up psychotic ways. The story line is 100 miles a minute from the first page and continues to run at full throttle until the last damn page. Seriously I need a stiff drink and probably a visit to a quiet place to recover. This book will make you laugh at the most inappropriate shit there is. I feel like I'm in recovery after that crazy rollercoaster but lord was it a fantastic book. They do not disappoint!!!.
Give me Sarah and Jude's book!! Never have I been so scared and excited about a book at the same time ever.
10 points for me managing to get through this review because honestly my brain resembles scrambled egg right now.

Painful to read
I’m a long time reader of this author and this was definitely my least favorite of her work. The last quarter or so of the book was more typical C.M. and enjoyable. The rest of it was difficult to read. The ‘feeling stabby’ joke got old quickly. Having the characters talk about how crazy they are on every single page throughout the book is redundant, tiresome, and not good writing. I would have enjoyed the book if she would have focused more on plot and character development, and less on trying to convince me the characters were crazy every five seconds.

I wish i didn’t read this last installment and just stopped after the third book :/ because this was not it... they pretty much took everything i enjoyed from the first three books and bashed me in the head with it...
1) They somehow turned Eve’s sweet nature into a complete ditz who barely knows her right from her left without Drex??
2) Agreed with another reviewer on here who mentions how every other dialogue in this book is about how batshit crazy one character or another is, like okay?? Don’t need the constant reminder?? It just ends up sounding like a parody of itself...
3) Made me dislike Drake??? Like oh look, it’s me, drake who always windups in crazy adventures with the girlfriends of the guys even though I'm not fucking any of them haha get it. Also, him referring to the girls as the "vagina squad" was sort of funny the first time i guess? But after the 10th time not so much.
If at least, i liked the romance and the couple, i could’ve overlooked some stuff but nope hated it! 😃 Rush is way too intense and angry like im sorry but wanting to completely isolate the girl you like cause "she’s never leaving you again" is not hot or sexy, it’s psychotic 😃Like I know you got money dude, ever thought about getting therapy? No? Well you should!😃

I absolutely love this series so far. I feel that the women of the series is the best part. My favorites are AJ (Sarah) and Maya. I love the craziness and how they shine. Drake the tattoo artist is the best with his comedian comments. I was laughing way too much his vagina squad. lol. I am looking forward to the next book, # 5.

I will say I was disappointed with the ending of MC # 4 because I really would have liked Rush and Kara stay in the story line instead of leaving. I felt that Rush's and AJ (Sarah's) relationship with their personalities meshed so well together; their insane take on life. I would love to see how Jude (Snake) would play out with AJ with Rush providing his insight. I would like to have seen Kara have more of an impact in this book, so that was a bit of a let down compared to how Owens showed Eve and Maya thinking and their strengths with fighting back. I already knew this MC is full of loveable psychopaths, but Rush was the cherry on top.
He's a cold-blooded killer, a stalker, a possessive asshole with the sexiest scary grin. Sorry, but I loved him to pieces.
Rush and Kara had a teenage love, but it's been 7 years since she ran away and he stayed. Now she's to be brought back to Halo to help take down his father and Rush wouldn't let anyone else be in charge of that. He stalks her for months then simply kidnaps her. And keeps her mostly naked, tied to his bed. He's not letting her out of his sight until he can be sure that she wouldn't want to leave ever again.
As I said, twisted as hell, but somehow it was the perfect mix of humor, edge, and crazy.

Well, I finished.
This book was chaos. Unhealthy.
Kara, I liked the version of her from the beginning of the book. Once she was kidnapped by Rush, she turned I into a weak, incompetent shadow.
Rush, we are never really told why he is so controlling. He was abusive IMO. And no one stepped up to stop him! They all let him walk right over them.
The rest of the characters had major personality changes. All anger with no finesse.
Sarah, that girl got crazier, and maybe portrayed a tad too invincible.

DNFd at 95% so decided to rate it. Was literally left with 1 chapter and just said to hell. Rush was just... possessive and arrogant and I didn't connect with him. One would think it was sweet that he stayed celibate since their last encounter, 7years ago, but this dude just failed to make me fall for him. And the heroine was just plain boring. Her story with her ex, Collin, would have been more interesting.. enjoyed catching up with Maya and Axle tho😁

I usually love, love CM’s books. But WTF did I read??? I feel like I was in a f*cked up Joker & Harley Quinn movie mixed with SOA gone bad. My brain is tired from this one. Too much all over the place for me. My least favorite CM book ever.

I looooved this book. I think the other three stories were building up for this one. Drex’s book started promisingly enough but the second book was a let down, Axle’s story was difficult to get into and I only skimmed it, but this one was just right. I loved the suicide squad ambiance, I loved Sarah and I really liked Maya in this book, and my only let down was SPOILERS how Kara fell short of the bad assery built up around her at the beginning of the book. But I really liked how this led to power reversal in their relationship dynamic.

Ugh. I was so excited for this one... ugh. It was like a train wreck I couldn’t stop reading, but I didn’t enjoy one second of the ride. I am well versed in this author but never saw this crazy coming. That’s perfectly fine as this is a more “it’s totally me and not you” scenario. I will read the next book, I’m probably asking for it by doing so but I feel invested in this series and want to see it finished. Ugh. I wanted to f-love this book.

Adrenaline Rush is the fourth addition to the Death Chasers MC series, and this series is not for the faint of heart. It's jam packed full of action, danger, intrigue, and suspense that will keep you guessing and completely enthralled from start to finish.
These characters are a special brand of crazy. They are intensely intriguing, quirky, fun, and humorous and a little bloodthirsty. It's quite a dark story, but has an element of humor that will have you laughing out loud, and it provides levity to essentially a dark read.
Adrenaline Rush is Rush and Kara's story. She's the MC princess who's on the run, desperately trying to hide from her past, and he's obsessive, controlling, possessive, bold and an alpha to the core.
Overall a second chance romance that is captivating, passionate, intense and steamy. I will never hear or think of the song "I Feel Pretty" the same way again, and not think of this title.
I will be eagerly awaiting the fifth addition to this series.

Rating this book was hard for me. I considered 1 star, based on how I feel now that I’ve read it. Then I considered 3 stars, since regardless of how left field this book was, I was still nostalgic enough to enjoy being in Halo and since I read all four books back to back, it feels a little like being at home with all your besties to delve right back into that world you have loved since book 1.
So...I settled for 2.
Honestly? I am a little disappointed. And I hate that since I looooooooooved the first 3.
I never really felt like Rush was all that crazy in the previous books, but he comes out in this book as being legit insane and cold AF. Do I like my hero’s a little nuts and off-kilter? Puh-lease. OF COURSE I DO.
But Rush literally never softens up. He’s just nuts all the time. He’s flat out obsessed with Kara and kidnaps her right out of the gate. He confines her in her room and hog ties her naked to his bed. That’s not sexy. Even though she kind of liked it... I had a hard time buying it. And I’m quite generous with what I’m willing to buy (so long as there’s no cheating!). His obsession and raw need to seclude her from everyone, and his need to own her completely simply never ceases. He doesn’t even relax when she willingly gives in to him. And for a man who apparently stayed to obsessed with her ever since she left 7 years ago (he likely stayed celibate) and for a man dead set on “making her love him again”... (literally says he’s gonna force her to love him again by re-kidnapping her and secluding her far out of halo).... as soon as she admits she loves him, he just stays silent.
WTF.
it’s a little weird too that they were in a sexual relationship at 15 but I can get past that, it’s a motorcycle club and they were the same age. Still kind of icky... would have been easier to swallow if they had been 16.
Now the side characters? It just became too crazy. Mya is too unhinged. Sarah is a flat out psycho and Rush has now painted as his kindred spirit and just as bananas as she is! Uh..... ok.... i just didn’t see that coming.
There’s a lot of banter about just how crazy everyone is, and eventually I got tired of Drake constantly complaining about the “vagina squad” and all the crazy.
We get it, everyone is coocoo for coco puffs.
Also Kara and Rush talked about their issues or their crazy as “their damage” and it became a term that was overused.
Anyhooooo.... in the end, I couldn’t connect or relate to the romance between Rush and Kara. It felt too empty, too controlling and too angry and I just needed a little bit more soft to go with all those hard edges. In fairness, CM Owens does warn that its a dark romance, and it is lol. But the element of romance felt lacking here, especially since I saw what she can do in her first 3 books.
And the ending didn’t leave me feeling settled. I wanted it to be different and the disappearing act didn’t sit well with me. (It is a HEA ending though for them).
Side bar - Snake all of a sudden owning a sex club was bizarre. Totally random for me.
Despite it all... I simply CAN NOT wait for sarah and snake to get their HEA and am stalking Owens for book updates lol
