Crooked cops and corrupt politicians rule the streets.
All it took was the murder of an innocent to ignite a firestorm and set two cities ablaze.

The choices I make aren’t easy, but at the end of a long and brutal night, I’ll see what remains of both my city and the love of the man I can’t live without.
Patton:
Overcome with grief, I walked away from the love of my life. Jen is on the streets, doing what she does best. She’s saving lives while I watch the city burn.
But, when she goes missing in the middle of the riots, I can no longer ignore the truth. She’s my wife. My love. She's my life. I’ll do whatever it takes to find her and beg for forgiveness.
I’m not sure if I’m strong enough or worthy of such redemption, but I will bring my wife home.

The Collective Season Two is a incredible Collaboration of Authors. The way that each writer combines their writing skills with the rest of the writers in fabulous. This story is truly a work of art. The way that the characters come to life throughout this story is fantastic. The storyline takes you through a roller coaster of events and emotions. I felt some of these emotions coming through, especially with the portion with Harley. The connection that Jen and Patton share is incredible in both the love and torment they both go through. This isn’t one of my normal Genre reads, but I found myself drawn in and enjoyed it immensely.
“A story of the deepest love, tragic loss, and a chance for redemption.” – Ellie Masters
“No matter what he said, her body had betrayed them.” – Jennifer. Jennifer Galloway was a paramedic, and her job took her into some of the most dangerous locations in San Francisco and Oakland. Her husband, Patton, was a military cop; working in the security forces division of the local base. His overprotective nature had him fretting daily about Jennifer’s job. But it wasn’t just her job; Jennifer was pregnant for the third time, the first two having ended in miscarriages. Patton was worried that the stress of her job would lead to another miscarriage; another disappointment. Following an emergency run while transporting a gunshot victim, Patton’s and Jennifer’s worst fears come true: Jennifer miscarries for the third time. Jennifer blames herself for the loss. Lost in a haze of guilt, depression and grief, Jennifer finds herself spiraling down, down, down…. “I don’t like this; it smells ugly.” – Patton A senseless act of violence costs an innocent her life, and the city is on edge. Charges of corruption and policemen neglecting their duties are fanning the flames of discontent, anger and hatred. While attending a candlelight vigil for the slain child, Jennifer is witness to a crime, but before she can get anyone’s attention, the moment is lost. Patton and Jennifer struggle to make their marriage work; to bring back the joi de vivre that once enhanced their days. But Jennifer feels Patton pulling away; turning away from her and her needs. In her grief, Jennifer suffers alone. She knows that Patton is grieving too, but they’re married, they should turn to each other for solace, not try to face it all alone. “Instead of the shadows, it was the light which hides the truth” – Jennifer Attempting to bridge the ever-growing chasm between them, Jennifer makes plans for a surprise wine tasting tour for Patton and herself. She even arranges for doggy day care for their puppy, Harley. Jennifer is ecstatic to see the old Patton beginning to peek through as the day progresses, but her plans implode when an unexpected accident takes the life of their pup, and Patton walks away. For Patton, it was the last straw; the last straining strand of love snapped. Ended. Broken. Shattered. “She was his to protect, to hold, to love, and to never, ever leave.” – Patton Patton is lost; lost in a world of his own making. Grief and anger over the loss of yet another child, the loss of Harley, his pup, the loss of the undemanding love between Jennifer and himself; it was all too much. Patton distanced himself from Jennifer, not touching her, not conversing, not acknowledging she even existed. Patton had to find his own way back; back to Jennifer, her arms, and her all-encompassing love.
“His actions had done more than hurt. They’d ripped apart the very foundation of her world. She’d learned something important. In the unravelling and destruction, hope remained.” – Jen Jennifer is determined; determined she will not give up on Patton and their marriage. She will find a way to make him see; that they are stronger together and have been since the start. The escalating violence is terrifying, but Jennifer will not stand down; she has a job to do, and she will do it. Others are depending on her, and she must hold true to herself. “You’re my treasure. You always have been, even when I was too blinded by my grief to see. It was time to take back what belonged to him and what he had foolishly given away. It was time to redeem himself.” – Patton
Wow…. Just wow…. Once again, Ellie master’s has crafted a masterpiece; a riveting, action packed story that runs the gamut of emotions: Elation, despair, joy, grief, terror, comfort. She skillfully interweaves all the threads of this story into a cohesive whole, leaving this reader breathless. A thrilling, intense tale of love, grief, forgiveness and redemption. I read this through in one sitting and know that I missed some of the subtler nuances; but like a starving man, I devoured this book and will be going back for a 2nd or perhaps even a 3rd read before I am confident that I discovered all the hidden gems in Ms. Masters’ latest offering. Some sexual scenarios with BSDM connotations, meant for a mature audience 18+.
What is better than fresh new and young love? Old love that has been forged in grief, despair, disappointment, hurt and finally hope and redemption. Masters is a one click writer for me because she has the ability to keep it real. She takes the everyday emotions we all feel at some point and spins them into a riveting tale. She brings the feels in spades.
Sometimes I write a review and try to give a few details that make a person want to read and enjoy the book also. It's hard to do this and not give away things that spoil the book. In a nut shell you have 2 people, Jen and Patton who are in love, battle life's losses, face the stress of intense jobs, daily worries and try to keep their relationship a focus. Will they make it through the grind and come out with a happy ending? I'm not telling you this one. What I will tell you is that this author is a spinner of words. She brings characters to life and really gets me as a reader invested. I highly recommend this read and cannot wait to read the other writers who make up The Collective. Buy the book!
This was the first book by Elle Masters I've read and boy did she hook me good. Jennifer and Patton are a married couple who are in love with each other and their jobs. Personal loss cause them to grieve and lash out at each other until one final straw pushed Patton over the edge. He walks away from his wife and his marriage. In the meantime, the city explodes in riots and chaos. Jennifer pushes away her hurt and does her job but when she comes up missing, what will her husband do? Realizing what a jerk he's been, he sets out to find her and win her back. Will he be in time to save the woman he's come to know means literally everything to him? The drama, the mystery, the grittiness, this story has it all. I loved this and can't wait to read more from this author!
I was so nervous to start this book since it's part of a crossover series, even though they are all standalones. I never usually read books out of order I'm terrified in case I miss something.
However as I started this I didn't let that put me off. I was intrigued straight away and realised it didn't matter that I hadn't read the other books because Patton and Jens story stands strong on its own.
They both have demanding jobs Jen is a paramedic and Patton works in the Military Police. Their physical chemistry is off the charts and scorching Hott. They're a very passionate couple. The way this guy worships his wife left me light headed. You'll need a cold shower that's for sure.
But the physical side sometimes isn't enough. After personal tragedies leave them drifting apart. They both throw themselves into their jobs to help them cope. I really felt for them, My heart hurt for them both for different reasons.
This book was fast paced there's riots and danger lurking around every corner. The cities are literally up in flames. When Patton realises his wife has been caught in a dangerous situation. The race is on to get her before its to late to get back what's his. Gah!! I loved take charge Patton this guy oozes authority. There's nothing like a man on a mission.
I'm pleased I read Patton and Jens story, It was riveting from beginning to end. I was in awe of Jen she's such a strong woman who genuinely cares about people. I just loved her.
I am curious about the others in the series now. I may have to take a look.
I love Ellie Masters' contemporary novels. They are lush, steamy and just darn good.
As the city falls to pieces Jennifer Galloway, a paramedic for San Francisco, has been there to help the victims. From the death of an innocent child that seems to be a catalyst to the riots, to a tenant in Hisoka's building who was suffering a heart attack, to treating a wounded Aiden and so on and so forth. Jennifer has borne witness to it all. Therein lies the problem with her very story, bearing the burden when she seems to have a problem with bearing her own children.
She and her husband, Patton love one another very much, but have had trouble sustaining a pregnancy on top of additional losses that continue to surround them. Love may not be enough to get them through their troubled times. With the very city falling into chaos around them it only seems right that nothing else is right in their world either.
With a war on the brink, the city in chaos, and people in an uproar what will become of San Francisco? No one is safe as corrupt politicians and dirty cops rule the street. A child’s death puts targets on the backs of those in law enforcement and sets two cities ablaze with riots. When the police chief’s daughter is kidnapped amid the chaos, will the Collective solve the case and rescue her in time?
This is a chronicle of a marriage unravelling despite the fact that the couple involved love each other deeply it's like the old saying the straw that broke the camel's back. What happens when one dreadful thing after another pushes the stress levels up? When one partner blames the other for something they had no control over, when that partner in the moment is blind to the other's pain and lashes out with words that can never be unsaid. Although the sex is off the charts it's not strong enough to keep them together. Communications has slowly and then explosively erroded. This is set along a backdrop of the city unravelling in a Machiavellian and anarchic way. It takes a totally breakdown with lawlessness to pull Patton out of his own head to go look for and save his wife and her colleague in the midst of a riot.
This was an exciting read because of the dual story one of a marital breakdown and the other anarchy and lawlessness.
This is the part of a story we never really see as they end at the HEA, this is the after, relationships that appear sound can sometimes just unravel because of outside pressures, broken dreams and grief.
Do they manage to repair and mend their marriage? That you have to find out for yourself.
Another "can't put this down" read from Ellie. Jen and Patton have an undeniable chemistry between them which you can feel right from the start. Jen is pregnant, but loses the baby, the third one she has lost, you can feel her grief and I felt that Patton blamed her job for her losing the baby. But, they seem to come back together until the day that their dog is killed. In his grief Patton tells Jen that everything is her fault, losing their babies and their dog, is all her fault. Patton cannot deal with his grief and leaves Jen, he even tells her he wants a divorce. With the city on fire, and riots going on around them, Jen tries to put aside the hurt and pain that she is going through whilst she carries on savings lives. But, when Jen ends up going missing in the heart of where all the riots are, Patton realises what he could lose and goes to find her. Can Patton find her? If he does find her can Jen find it within herself to forgive Patton for his unforgivable words?
They had a whirlwind affair and then they married. He was military born and bred to serve and protect. She was a paramedic partnered with his best friend. She was good at what she did and well respected. The San Francisco and Oakland erupted in riots. The world has gone crazy. No one is safe especially anyone in uniform. That's not the only thing Patton and Jen face. What happens when tragedy causes cruel words to be said and harsh actions to be taken. It's going to take more than an apology for them to get their hea, Patton needs redemption.
Great ending to the collective as all of connections and loose ends are tied up. Great emotional story with intrigue and action that keep you turning the pages for more. Love this author and her style. This hot and passionate couple will win your heart.
Honestly, at first I wasn’t sure about this book. It was solely due to the fact I have yet to read an Ellie Masters book that I have not liked that I decided to give this one a try. However, I ended up loving this book! It turns out I learned a lot about EMTs and their job. I didn’t think I would find it interesting but it really was. I found myself drawn towards the learning aspect for the first half of the book. Through the second half, my heart was fully engaged and torn for the love-hate that developed between Patton and Jennifer. It became one of those books where I wanted to smack some sense into the man and scream about the unfairness that is life. If anyone is on the fence about reading this book I would recommend it. I can absolutely chalk this up to another grand book from the fabulous Ellie Masters.
I found myself unable to pause reading this book because of both the action in it and the relationship between the main characters. This isn't a "falling in love" story; it's an insight into a couple already together and married, and who are under pressure from a city that's exploding in riots and anger (he's military, she's EMS), miscarriages, and obviously growing frustration. Jen has a third miscarriage near the start of the book, and it's clear Patton blames her for them - either her body or her job. But they get through it until another tragedy causes Patton to explode.
The riots are a unifying factor in the story, and, when one night's work goes bad for Jen, there is a chance for redemption for the city and for the couple. The book is painful at times, a stark look at what can happen when the world goes mad. I couldn't put it down; it's one where you have to find the end!
What a powerful story Ellie Masters has composed for a married couple. She has the unique ability to tap into emotions and bring them to life with such vigor you will experience each of them as they unfold. Jen and Patton have been through hell and back but always had their love and physical bond that held them together, until the world went crazy and the final straw broke the camel's back, or did it? This was heartfelt, raw and powerful in it's telling. One I'm glad I didn't miss. You'll get your HEA but it won't be tied up with a big red bow, no, it comes with the loops slightly tattered and a little off center, but isn't that how life sometimes presents itself?

One of the great things about multi-author series like The Collective is that you get to read not only amazing books, but meet new authors. Ellie Masters is new to me and I can safely say I am hooked. Redemption is an amazing continuation and end to a great series.
This was a truly heartbreaking story at times. Relationship aren't easy, but when there are losses, it makes it even harder to fight through the obstacles. Jennifer and Patton have suffered many losses and Patton has no way to deal with these losses and distances himself from Jennifer. When Jennifer is caught up in the chaos, the city has been engulfed in, Patton realizes his love for Jennifer is too strong to let go.
**Definitely read the series in order it is the way to go**
I received this book for an honest review. What an emotional love story about Jen and Patton as we are drawn into the lives of this married couple as they go through tragedy and misunderstandings that finally leads to their Redemption. The storyline and characters will deeply affect you as you go through the problems these two amazing people are faced with. But through all of the dangers and heartbreak these two faced, they realize that the love and passion they have for each other finally wins in the end. Another great book by Ellie Masters. This book is a must read and I highly recommend this book.
The Collective Season Two is another incredible action packed collection of stories from many Authors.
Redemption by Ellie Masters is a story of love, tragedy, and redemption. The connection between Jen and her husband is strong, or so they both thought. However one tragic loss after another shakes them both and their marriage. Can it survive?
Ellie Master’s has once again given us an action packed story that will leave you flipping the pages until the very end. Her writing style and characters a FANTASTIC! I look forward to the other books in this collection.
*I voluntarily read an advance copy. This is my honest review.*
Ellie Masters delivers again with Redemption. And I mean she has written another wonderful touching story about two people dealing with loss so great that it threatens their love for each other. The loss they go through is something so real that you feel their pain each and every time. As you read the story you get a sense that Jen and Patton are meant for each other so what they are having to deal with as a couple and individually is tough to read. Will they be able to move past the loss and hurt and pain and find the love that has bound them together?
Beautiful! Smart, twisted and exciting, this read is chuck full of hot steamy passion. I haven’t read all the installments in this collection but from the ones I have read, I can say that they can each be read as a standalone. In this installment, the author has truly given us a treasure! This author has the uncanny ability to take a simple theme and produce a masterful creation. Flawlessly written with well developed characters, this is an intriguing story of love and all its complicated facets. Beautifully told... jump in blindly and discover how the story of Jen and Patton plays out!
This is a story that I wished I had NOT read the blurb. Because as perfect and wonderful as the marriage was between Patton and Jen, you knew the bottom was going to fall out. I read with anxiousness knowing that something was gonna happen but wasn't prepared for what was to come. And then, true anxiety set in, for the blurb was barely a snippet of the events. This author has an amazing way of describing the people, places, and circumstances while you sit to the edge of your seat in anticipation! Thankfully I finished this story without physical harm to myself!
Jen and Patton’s story held so much grief, tragedy and hope that my emotions were all over the place. This story had me wanting to turn the pages so quickly that I read it in one sitting. When the world is in turmoil there will always be hope, especially for two people who were destined to be together. No matter what the circumstances or heartaches true love exists and will shine a bright light at the end of any darkness. A great story that I truly enjoyed and recommend.
This book literally had me in tears more than once. And had me on the edge of my seat for most of it. I read it in one day because I just couldn’t put it down. So don’t start reading if you have anything you need to get done. If you’re looking for something wonderful to read that will give you all the feels then you need to go one click it right now. And as always happy reading. 📖
Wow! Another Ellie Masters masterpiece. Jen and Patton’s story held so much heartbreak, grief, tragedy and hope you won't be able to help yourself from getting wrapped up in their story and throwing your own emotions in turmoil. Redemption will give you all the feels, a truly exceptional story one I highly recommend to all!

Intense heart wrenching down right breath taking book. I didn't think I would want to read this one without reading the first one but I couldn't put it down. Intense from beginning to end. Gripping from the very first chapter to the very last chapter. Intense relationship between two amazing characters. Had me on the edge of my seat wanting more. I loved this book and can't wait to read the first one and the next one. Ellie blew me away.
At first I didn’t know what to expect in my reading especially since this was a Season 2 Episode 8. But dang, my emotions were up and down and felt along with the characters. This book can be read as a stand alone and does have an HEA, but wow does the emotions come out. Definitely recommending this book and I’m going to have to back and find out if about Episodes 1-7 and the thr first season was about!

The Collective Season's are created by several great authors telling their stories and leaving pieces of the mystery for the readers to find. Ellie Masters does not disappoint, she has always intrigued me from the first time I read her work. This Episode was a page turner, it captured me from start to finish, the minute I thought I knew what was happening, something changed. If you love a good twist, a heartbreaking love story and redemption, this read is perfect.
Losing another pregnancy and the death of their beloved dog, Patton and Jen find themselves left with a ruined marriage and broken hearts. When Jen is left in the middle of the chaos surrounding the riots and fires, Patton realizes that love is worth fighting for. But is it too late? With beautifully written characters and a human side to the entire series this was a fabulous read. I loved the entire collection and this was the perfect ending.
Another fabulous story form Ellie. Patton and Jen are a couple that may be married to one another but they are also dedicated to their work. Patton leaves the marriage and Jen but soon after their city becomes violent and they are pulled into riots and chaos . He realizes that although he has a job to do he also comes to the brutal and hopefully not to late conclusion that he truly loves his wife . He will do anything to find her and bring her back to him. ~~Michele McMullen ~~
She is out on the streets to help others while the city in flames. He is stuck but when she disappears he knows he needs to find her. She was his wife. He has to find her. Where is she? Will he find her? What will happen next? See if he can save her

This story was so good! Jen is one tough cookie!! She has literally been to hell and back during the riots. While grieving her circumstances on top of it! She is the definition of strength. Patton is a total alpha male. While I like reading alpha stories, I always want to throat punch them and Patton is no different. This was such a great story with lots of action!!
Jen and Patton have the perfect marriage. She is pregnant and they are excited to be adding to their family. Jen's job as a paramedic in San Francisco is definitely putting her in danger right now. People are rioting and getting hurt. When tragedy strikes the couple, Patton lashes out and truly devastates her. Can they work through their problems before it is too late, and one of them is hurt?
Jennifer is a paramedic and loves what she does and it shows in her work.
Patton is in military and he is devoted to his work
Jennifer is pregnant but has a miscarriage and Patton can’t forget her his time.
They live on the base and Patton decide to ignore her and carry on with his work. But events in the City makes him regrets his decision to divorce her. Will she ever forgive him.
