The pictures were beautiful and the layout was fantastic. Overall though, these are not things that I would try or decorate with. Great concept, but not for the average family.
This is a lovely picture book fantasy for a Christmas that I'm never going to put together. The Entertain section shows five different events with decorations, table settings, menu, and recipes that range from a tree trimming party to a New Year' s Eve party. The Savor section has recipes for roasts, sides, desserts and cookies. The Kit & Kaboodle section contains homemade food gifts for anyone on your list. The book also contains a Holiday Planner so that you can track everything from creative gifts to holiday memories. The last page includes a checklist for your thank you notes and notes for next year.
Southern Living's 2018 Christmas book contains a number of ideas for decorating and preparing items for holiday feasts and get-togethers for friends and family. While it may include some thoughts that remind you of past editions, it still is a good book for readying the mind for the upcoming Christmas season.
Ok, this book was just okay. I know that this is the normal set up but I didn’t like it. The recipes seemed jumbled, I couldn’t tell where one ended and the next began. The actual recipes where just okay, but there was not really anything I really wanted to make.
I did find several great recipes that I want to try, but I was disappointed that there were no crafts instructions. The decorating mentioned on the cover is just few photos of decor you can do but nothing about making any of it yourself. 3 stars for feeling misled.
