Throughout decades of teaching, he has run numerous workshops, written a series of books, and published a number of training videos. My favorite overview of the Taoist teachings of Master Mantak Chia. This book is invaluable in providing information that you would have to look in a dozen books to find.

A great beginning book on Taoist energy practices and meditation practices. The only downside I've noticed is that while you will find everything you need in this book to practice the three primary meditations (Inner Smile, Six Healing Sounds, and Microcosmic Orbit), various details and steps are scattered throughout the book.

In my practice of Qigong, I have appreciated the non-dogmatic and approachable method of Chia's routines. My aim in reading one of his books was to balance the historical and seriously disciplined practice of Qigong as presented by the Chinese masters with a more modern-adapted Thailand practice.

Here is the good: I am making many connections with Donna Eden's work, of which I read nearly 2 decades ago. So many things are getting more tangible. For example, I finally understand to what "triple-warmer" is referring. Hence, I have clearer intention when doing this simple move.

I believe that having read Eden's Energy Medicine has better framed this book, so much so that I will buy the new edition and re-read it, as Eden organizes the information in a format that makes it easy to use as a reference guide.

Here is the bad (at least for me): there is some dogma, in which I have no interest. Breatharianism is one of them.

I praise Mantak Chia for what he has done with the spread of Qigong. He is also one of 4 people, including myself, that teach people how to feel and move Chi right away in their book. Although buried under Taoist philosophical jargon about cosmic consciousness that I feel people miss how profound feeling and moving Chi is. He takes Chi from 1moh to warp speed. Which for some people they want to create some grand mental journey to deal with the blandness that can be life. Personally I find the journey of Chi cultivation towards the healing and mastery of the self quite amazing already. I feel people need more preparation for a cosmic journey other than a few techniques.

An excellent resource for the practitioner of Tai Chi and/or Qigong. More of a reference manual than something to read and be done. The exercises are well detailed, however I would still recommend consulting with a skilled practitioner rather than relying on just the information in the boom.

Calm, insightful, and deeply grounding. A beautiful intro to energy work and self-healing. It made me slow down and reconnect with my body in a way I didn’t know I needed.

Ha sido interesante, aunque también suelta de vez en cuando alguna que otra patraña pseudo-oriental de las que los occidentales quieren escuchar, desde mi humilde positivista punto de vista.
