The Twelfth Preamble: To all the authors to be!

My tryst with writing spanned over ten years when I first started writing columns for a leading financial daily, which were obviously edited by their team, before publishing under my name. The writing bug stung again and again, and I took to blogging for next few years on varied subjects. In due course, I wrote a novel as well, essentially a nonfiction, which probably may be a case with all the writers to begin with, however, I never had the desired panache to go ahead and publish it. At that time, I could not explain why, perhaps some kind of inexplainable fear engulfed me. That was the only time in my life when I procrastinated. Probably there would be hundreds and thousands of writers out there who sail in the same boat as mine. Finally, one day this opportunity struck, where I got a chance to embark on fictional sojourn for a year long. I got a chance to write eleven short stories, and I determined right away to write on all the eleven leads given by known authors. These leads were to provoke authoring skills amongst the beginners. It was enlightening to know the difference in writing fiction and nonfiction. It was also a revelation to know how tough it was to go through the process of writing on a fictional theme. There was a divulgence as well that one cannot be a complete author without going through the grinds of writing fiction. Having gone through this journey, I advise all the budding writers to attempt writing fiction first, which will essentially help them to enhance their writing the nonfictional endeavours, and eventually equip them to emerge as complete authors. I have encapsulated my experiences of my attempts to write each of the stories in the form of 'preambles' at the beginning. Preamble, no doubt, is a heavy word though, but befitting from the point of view how effortful the process is when you attempt doing something new to you for the first time ever. My first novel is still pending for coming up on Kindle, but I exactly know now that I have to virtually re-write it, I exactly know where it is deficient and how, I exactly know how to enhance it in order to make it into appealing reading for all.
