A suffering MC novel—the main character must be forced to suffer, be oppressed until they’re hovering between life and death, dying and living here and there. They can have a golden finger, but before getting it they must pay the price. They can also have beautiful women, but all are snake and scorpion beauties, able to look at but not eat.
“Curse” is just that type of suffering MC novel. The main character Xi Wei, after being forced to experience numerous sufferings, had, at last, become the most powerful, at the same time linking together with the world’s qi and fate. After he was oppressed too miserably, he committed suicide and buried the entire world with him.
Zeno transmigrated, in the end arriving at “Curse”.
Zeno was adopted by the MC, finally becoming the number one person/wife.
Zeno: Help, I don’t want to be destined to be raised by this perverse person!
All living things (wipe away tears): You must rescue this world, ah.
I wish with all my heart that 4.5 was an option. I loved this novels so much. It was captivating, the MC was interesting, the ML was interesting, the plot was interesting. Basically, the entire novel was amazing — enticing, enjoyable, and not at all cliché. But not perfect.
It honestly felt too short. Everything moved very quickly and I felt so much more could have been addressed and explained. Such as, the world the novel took place in. There was not much explanation aside from when the MC and ML were involved in and i felt there could have been so much more world building. I also thought that each volume/arc was rushed through as well, when there could have been more — more action, more characters, more character building, more explanation of the lore.
But what really could have used more effort was the romance. It had always been hinted at in some way, but it was only in the last two volumes the author really shone a light on it. And, to clarify, it didn't feel like 1-100. Instead, it was more like a one-sided love that jumped into a relationship somehow. The ML did not really show any major signs of love rather than possessiveness. Not to mention, the entire betrayal plot line felt unnecessary and just a way for the author to wrap up their threads of feelings. That was just unrealistic — and honestly didn't leave me with amazing feelings regarding the main couple. Their relationship felt shallow; not really a relationship between lovers but more a relationship between two people dependent on each other.
I did think that the untrusting ML was realistic, but I wished it was resolved differently. Still, I loved it and would recommend. The slow burn was great as was the MC's drive to ensure the ML lived a better life than in the original. But, be warned, there is a small section of confinement and dubious consent.

I really liked this story, but the ending threw me off, and that last extra especially threw me off.
I really loved the story, the characters, the mystery. I thought the author and translator did a really good job of bringing the transmigrated story to life. I loved the first part when they're relying on each other and randomly nice people to survive. I also liked the middle where they finally seemed to catch a break.
But then the author seemed to speed write the ending in a way that made me question the main characters. Does one person really need to sacrifice all of themselves and break another's trust in order to change the other's personality and fears? What's wrong with living a life of pretending if both parties are happy? I think the author has bought deeply into the belief that all horrors and slights a person suffered has to be dredged up and psychoanalyzed for a person to be happy. But I don't think that's true - sometimes, a person is much happier ignoring some things than confronting it. I don't need my fear of heights or needles cured. I can live happily even if I can't tightrope or get a shot without looking away. I know some people wouldn't be OK living with that fear, and that's ok - it's their decision to seek help. Help isn't forced on them in the most traumatizing, easily misunderstood way possible.
I also didn't understand the purpose of the pandora's box metaphor. How did he give anyone hope?
Anyways, for me, the good outweigh the bad in this story. The translator was very nice and did a good job. The story was interesting and the characters vivid.
Rating: 4/5- Absolutely brilliant, although heartbreaking and sad at the same time.
Truly a masterpiece transmigration novel with rather dark undertones. This MC and ML don’t win at much and they are in for a world of pain with every chapter, but this is refreshing to read when it comes to transmigration.
Personally, this would have worked much better as a longer novel that explored all the MLs breakthrough to eventual leader of the world, a lot of plot holes or shallow executed ideas came across due to the shortness of the book. It’s not terrible but it would have been better.
The ending and romance are slightly rushed but everything ties together really well, nonetheless. The MC and ML are really well written and show so much character and dynamic. I think I enjoyed the ending a lot even though it brought me to tears. It was very well woven by the author from start to finish and as much as the angst hurt, it was well placed.
This novel was just not for me. I really dislike when the protagonists start off transmigrating into children because the thing I enjoy the most in danmei is the romance aspect and if the characters are children, there's not any romance. So this novel in particularly was even worse because an adult man transmigrates into a literal baby and he's not a baby for a chapter or two he remains a baby and under 5 years old for over 40 chapters!!! So half the book he's a baby/toddler. I'm sure some people thought it was cute to have the ML take care of a baby but I was mainly bored and hoping that the second half would be good but again, the romance aspect was really missing. The ML was supposed to have severe trust issues but that meant that he barely spoke so I wasn't particularly invested in him either. Not liking it is mainly my own fault for not looking at the tags on NU.
The book was okay, and I mostly enjoyed it. However, a lot of the plot holes were only resolved in the “extras” and not in the actual story. Also, it seems like some of the characters are only there to be stepping stones or some sort of “cheat” for the main character. This makes me care less about the story because it doesn’t have many dimensional characters. Essentially, it had a lot of potential, but I don’t think it was executed in the best way.
The ending was so adorbs that I can't, tho I can't say I'm completely on board with Xi Wei at the end. I didn't like how he managed the betrayal and we weren't given enough space after to really forget it.
Also wtf happened with the rest characters after????
Le doy las cinco estrellas. Me gustan mucho los personajes principales (Zeno y Xi wei) están bien desarrollados. La única falla que tiene es que la historia va demasiado deprisa (tal vez sea por qué me gusta mucho xD)
3.8 stars. It was an ok read. I was able to finish it very quickly. I just think that there were too much of them growing up and too little of them together as a couple. I think it should have more time of them as a couple.
I pick this book because I like manga and someone recommended that I should read some novel at first I was specatalcal cause it was all words no picture but then I was like whatever I have nothing better to do with my life anyways might as well read it and when I started to read it I really like it. This book is about a guy who read a web novel when he was living on earth but then he fell asleep and woke up in the novel as a baby that met the protagonist when he was little the protagonist was homeless but he still took care of the baby who was the mc. The protagonist took care of him until he realise the baby was a half demon and he became to not trust the MC anymore they started to drift apart then some accatect happy the MC get kannape alot he is very kannapeable but they had to departed because the Mc had to go thru a face but they reunited. Overall I really enjoyed this novel but the ending was so rushed I was not happy about it. I feel the author got tired and just rushed so I will give this book a 3 star. I would give it a 4 star but I don't feel like it. I really wanted to know more about their relationship when the protagonist kannaple him and lock him away because he feel like the mc betrayal him and when the mc ran away I wanted them to go more in depth into that but they didn't and when I was dont I was left unhappy because this is a really great but and I wish they would had gone a little in depth but overall this is a really good book I recommend people read it it's really good.
