Lisa dispels all the common misconceptions about this diverse religion, giving her readers the perfect foundations for taking their first steps on their Wiccan journey.
Unlike other Wicca guides, Lisa's books provide information that's found across many Wiccan traditions, rather than coming from just one person's perspective. In fact, she writes the kinds of books she wishes had been available when she was just starting out in the Craft all those years ago.
When not writing or experimenting with spellwork, Lisa loves to read, play piano, and spend time surrounded by nature.
My partner just returned home after a year so I have not read a single thing in like a week...This book should have taken 1 day to read
Don't be fooled by the term Wicca in this novel. This is not specifically designed for those practicing Wicca and is very adaptable in its usage. Lisa Chamberlain does a great job of allowing the reader to use these spells, tips, and tricks in any fashion they choose, making the book a great reference tool.
The spells themselves are simple and require few ingredients/steps. Too often, you buy a book on Witchcraft and it gives you a cheesy spell that anyone on Pinterest could have written - and it quickly becomes a waste of time and money. However, I didn't have this problem while reading Wicca Spellbook Starter Kit, as she provides spells that will require a few extra tools, have various outcomes, and are driven by the individual's intentions. Thankfully, it's not a bunch of pages saying: "Just hold a rose quartz, sit on the floor and imagine happy <3 Blessed Be <3"
You get 3 books in one, which I really cannot complain about. Chamberlain introduces the 3 crucial types of spellwork in Witchcraft - candle, crystal, and herbal magic. She gives extensive history and usage tips on each topic and of course a handful of spells to go with each. I greatly appreciated this book and it will definitely remain a permanent fixture on my bookshelf for a long time to come!
Here are a few of the spells that I personally liked and will use in the future, and it also shows the versatility within the book: Spell for Increased Patience Spell for Beginning a Long Term Project A Mind-Body Healing Bath Spell Anti-Theft Travel Protection Spell
The fist time I read threw the book. I got very upset. I felt like everything in the book was incorrect and just made witchcraft look like it does in the movies. The second read threw. With a LOT of tweeking. I made a few of the spells work. There’s a lot of knowledge in the book. And people debate over what spells work and how. Me ,myself. I did not enjoy nor would I recommend this book to others
At the risk of repeating myself, Lisa Chamberlain does a fantastic job of giving high-level overviews of the topic she covers as well as recommendations for beginning and places to continue your education. I appreciate her encouragement to connect with one's own experiences and intuition while continuing to learn from the experiences of others.
This set of spell books is The perfect companion for a beginners and intermediates like me, it has all the information you need and explains it perfectly. I definitely highly recommend!
I enjoyed this book. Learned something new and herbs and plants can be used in so many different ways. Definitely will be looking into more of this Arthur's books.
Easy to read and understand. Spells are simple and accessible, without requiring anything difficult to find, terribly expensive or long lists of materials. I'm finding them to be enjoyable.
It's a great introduction into these 3 types of magic. It has a couple of example spells for each, and a few spells mixing the types. Overall I enjoyed the information.
Came as a set for purchasing another book. Very basic magic information. Nothing to be totally impressed by but definitely has some good resources in them if you’re skimming for something specific. The candle magic is the best book of the set of 3, the herbs could’ve been better.
This set of books is a great way to understand complex ideas on personal energy and good luck. I had friends who worked at magic stores in Louisiana when I was at school there. I wondered what the heck they were doing in there? Many misunderstandings about crystals, candles, and lucky charms online abound. Doing real research on the topics instead of blind belief in gossip is needed to sort out the information. I did love this book and it had clearly described information. I found each book really easy to read and full of useful information. My favourite book of the three is Crystal Magic - after reading about the properties and uses of the 13 crystals in this book I bought one of each! Definitely a good resource and one I will frequently refer to.
Very nicely broken down into sections, basic understandings of tools and has sections breaking down each thing and simple spells to practice that were useful.
