What an awesome addition to the King of Prey series. Grardelle is a royal hawk warrior and serves honorably. Ever since the death of his sister, he has spent his life raising his niece Sabrina in the human world. Now she is grown and mated to the future king of the Falcons. There is someone in that world that he raised his niece in that still pulls him in back into the human world--- Lisa; Lisa, who is one of his niece's friends. Since her 18th birthday it was like his body flipped a switch and turned back on after all this time. Yet he has been fighting himself for 7years for she is too young for him since he is 100 years older than her. But now she is in danger and this royal guard is not going to let this happen- not on his watch. What a exciting, fun , dramatic and passionate story. The characters , the scenery, the action and adventure... the passion and romance, all of this makes for a brilliant read.

I love the connection these two have but fight , Gardelle thinks Lisa is to young for him but when her life is threatened he does not hesitate to show her she was meant to be him

Sexy bird shifters! Okay.
Gardell was a warrior at heart even if he had been living in the human realm to raise his niece. With his long lifeline, it was merely a pinprick of time. She was settled, engaged to their king and he could resume his real purpose. That was the plan. He learned that a woman he'd watched grow from child to woman was in danger. The feelings he'd always had for her became uncontrollable. He would protect her. And more.
She had crushed on him for years. Was he really looking at her like he wanted her? Yes, she'd do anything he wanted. What she didn't know was what he was and what his world was like. Finding out could be the last thing she does. The danger he'd discovered was close. Would he be able to protect her? And if so, how would he explain his wings and his world?
They both have some surprises coming. We get to sit back and watch the show. We get to see the steam, the snark, as well as visiting old friends. The women from earth may be smaller than those in the bird realm, however, the men soon learn they are fierce in their own way.
This is a wonderful read and can be read alone. I recommend this as well as the whole series.

The story takes place 7 years later.
Sabrina is finally mated to Lazar – King of the Falcons and friend to Gardelle.
While on patrol of their territory to protect portals to the human realm, fighting breaks out involving dreaded Vulture Shifters.
Vultures against the warriors of not only the Hawks but Eagles as well as Falcon fighters.
After a brutal battle one of the Vultures has been captured. Through some interesting interrogation they find out some of the Vultures have entered the human realm. Their plan? To abduct human women to torture and breed with.
For years Gardelle has denied his feelings for Lisa that is until it is uncovered that she is at the top of the list for abduction. Well I guess you can figure out where this is leading right.
This is one fierce warrior that is going completely out of control. He is about to unleash Hell on Earth. No one will ever look at or touch his mate and live to tell the tale.
This book made me laugh out loud and fall in love with these hot feathery warriors all over again.
It has been a long time since I read the other books in this series. I will however be re-reading the series once again from beginning to wonderful end.
Hopefully there will be more, One can only hope!

Under His Wing is the 7th book in Mandy Roth’s King of Prey series, a series about bird shifters. Gardelle of the Hawks is a seasoned soldier who lived in the human realm for decades in order to protect his niece, Sabrina. Now that she’s mated and happy, he is finally able to return to his home realm and all of his friends and fellow soldiers. However he can’t seem to get a certain female off of his mind, though she is completely and totally off limits to him.
Lisa has been Sabrina’s best friend for years. She loves Sabrina like a sister and enjoys trying to get her to spread her wings and live a little. Especially when it comes to Sabrina’s stuffy, gruff, uncle. The man is perpetually frowning and has no idea how to loosen up and have fun. After Sabrina is happily married, Lisa occasionally sees Sabrina’s uncle. But when he shows up at her job acting strangely, she is in for quite the surprise.
I loved Gardelle in previous books. He’s loyal, kind and selfless. I felt sorry for him for having to remain so far from his home and friends, though it was for a good cause. Lisa is a little wicked, a little sweet and a lot funny. She’s feisty and has no problem being herself and speaking her mind. The two of them together were extremely entertaining. We also get to see a bunch of characters from previous books. The constant bickering and picking on one another was fun to read and had me laughing out loud. I really enjoyed this book and hope the series will continue.

Gardelle gas split his life between the human realm and his home realm. He looked after his niece Sabrina the best he could, he even put up with her mouthy and all around bad influence of a best friend, Lisa. But when Lisa turned 18 he felt like a dirty old man, cos all of a sudden is interest lay firmly with her. He distances himself and now that Sabrina is safely mated and living "abroad" as far as Lisa knows, he now has monthly lunches with Lisa to keep her connected to her friend.
Lisa was a real wild child and although she has grown up, I wouldn't say she has matured much, LOL. She gave up her safe and secure and very boring job and now works at a sex club. But when Gardelle swoops in saying that she is in danger she finds herself completely surrounded by bird shifters of one variety or another and her brain is surely rattled!
Lisa copes admirably well with everything that gets thrown at her. She does come apart slightly but I really enjoyed Gardelles conflict with himself. He thinks he is perverted as he is over 100 years older than Lisa and doesn't want to weird her out. Lisa, however, doesn't see the age of the man just the man standing in front of her. And that man? Well she'd love to get down and dirty with him any time! Great read. Fun, exciting, passionate and with a family reunion that will skew your brain!

The long awaited seventh book to this series is here, and it was well and truly worth it!
This Gardelle's and Lisa's story. Gonna try to review without giving away too many spoilers,.
Gardelle spent his last twenty years going between his realm and earth to raise his niece as a human without anyone knowing about it, until her mate came for her and all was then revealed.
In this book you get to catch up with past characters and meet new ones and love the banter they have with each other over the fears these big warriors have with their small mates. The humour has you literally laughing hard and aloud.
Infact this book is full of humour from beginning to end. It's also very strong on the sexual content, and got great for fighting scenes.
Miss Roth's writing keeps you at the edge of your seat with the need to know what is going to happen next. Infact Miss Roth's writing has the characters leaping off the page and into your head, having you feel like your apart of the storyline and feeling what the characters feel.
If you love the Immortal Ops world then you will love the bird realm, and I strongly advise you read in book order.
This deserves more than a five star rating.

This story brings us to both dimensions, the human one and the bird Shifter world. The bird shifters are comprised of many groups; eagles, hawks, falcons and their enemy the vultures.
The Vultures plan to force breed abducted human women and use fertility methods on them.
Gardelle , a high officer of the hawk shifters, leaves for earth to raise his niece Sabrina. Once Sabrina is mated to the King of the Falcons he returns to his position in the bird realm. For years Gardelle had a pull towards Sabrina’s wild and reckless best friend Lisa.
Upon learning Lisa is in danger, and with the vultures breaking through the portal to earth, Gardelle must neutralize the threat from the vultures and save Lisa (who turns out to be his mate).
This book is exciting,action packed, fun, hot sexy scenes. Though on the short side it doesn’t lack in story or detail. I do believe an epilogue would have be a good addition and a glossary of the characters in the beginning as well.
It is highly recommended to read the series in order since many of the characters and their back stories appear and are part as well.

I am so very excited that Mrs Roth, Mandy, has decided to do this book and continue the series! This seires is awesome and this book fit right in, it did not disappoint! I swear that when you read her books you get lost in them, you feel as though you are one of her characters! I will warn you, once you pick it up, you will not beable to put it down! It's that good. I love how you get to know every character in her book, so when it cam time to Gardelle's love turn, you knew him formthe other books and you get ecoitied that he has a book now. I find it funny how some of the bird shifters fall in love with "humans" and gripe about it but most imes those"humnas" may not be what they seem. I feel Mandy picked the perect mate (Lisa) for Gardelle and his story is adventous, funny, and hot. Not to give to much away, but who Lisa is in the book and the perfect twist in this book. It shows that anyone can fall "Prey" to a beautiful, sexy, smart, girl next door. Gardelle so deserves Lisa, please get this book and find out who Lisa is friends with, to see how fitting this is! Great book, great series! Must read!!

What a fun read.
Gardelle and Lisa are such a fun couple to read about. Each comes to the other with conflicts of interests between them. Gardie (Lisa's nickname for Gardelle) believes he has nothing to offer Lisa. "I didn't understand who you were to me. I thought was broken." In his eyes Lisa was only his niece Sabrina's best friend since forever. And as for Lisa she had always believed Gardie looked on her with destain since he believed her wild ways were a very bad influence on Sabrina. Let me tell you Lisa's outlook on life and sarcastic quips are refreshing. She's not the goody two shoes type of woman but is definitely the earthy variety. Afterall, she runs a sex club and likes men a lot. This is where the conflict of interests comment comes in. Lisa's family tree is quite the surprise to all too. And the frequent joke about blushing has to give the reader a chuckle; along with the consequences of dealing with pregnant mates. I was given an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest and voluntary opinion.

Gardelle has raised his niece and now that she is mated he is a bit at a loose ends. He has been fighting his feelings for Lisa since she was eighteen but when her life is in danger, the blinders fall off with a vengeance. I really enjoyed returning to this world Ms. Roth has created. I love that Gardelle is given someone of his own. He has done his best to raise and protect his niece but that has left little time for romance. I love that even though he fought himself he could not continue when his mate is threatened...even if he doesn't quite realize that he has been granted this treasure. I thoroughly enjoyed this world and loved that Ms. Roth allowed Gardelle his time. He was so formal and still is but you understand a bit more why that is. I love that Lisa loosens him up a bit even if she doesn't think he cares for her. I love the quickness in which they move beyond their misconceptions and find a way to fight for each other. I thoroughly enjoyed this quick read by Ms. Roth and hope that she will return to this world in the future.

Gardelle is a Royal Hawk shifter who raised his niece Sabrina in the human realm to keep her safe. He was never planning on telling her of her heritage as she most likely wouldn't shift but she manages to meet Lazar and is his fated mate. In this story she is pregnant with twins. Gardelle is attracted to Lisa his niece's best friend so it is not appropriate for him to be so he ignores that yet he doesn't realize that she is his fated until the day he is drawn in her direction and isn't sure why.
There are secrets surrounding Lisa that she is not aware of that puts her in danger which is the final nail in Gardelle's coffin as he finally admits to what Lisa is to him and rushes to keep her safe.
I really enjoyed how this story unfolded, I don't think Ms. Roth has ever disappointed me siince I first read Radar Deception. I voluntarily read a complimentary copy and have not been compensated in any way for this opinion.

💢 It's been a while since I read King of Prey but as soon as I started reading I remember every single book and it is just phenomenal. It had me on the edge of my seat from the first page, to the last. It is so funny I'm laughing to the point tears are running down... Definitely a Must Read!

💢 It's been a while since I read King of Prey but as soon as I started reading I remember every single book and it is just phenomenal. It had me on the edge of my seat from the first page, to the last. It is so funny I'm laughing to the point tears are running down... Definitely a Must Read!

FINALLY! I have been waiting for this book for awhile now, well it seems like forever, and oh did it live up to my expectations. Heat, humor, hummingbirds??? What?? Just read the book and that will make sense. New allies are made and some have closure. Whatever you do.. refrain from drinking ANYTHING while reading because, bam, out of nowhere comes scenes that had me laughing so hard I was choking on my tea. Gardelle has not had any sex drive for years. Then all of a sudden in walks his niece's best friend and holy moly overdrive! Typical male though, he doesn't know what this means. I think this is a trait of all of the bird shifter warriors. Lisa is wild and reckless. Always has been an this leads Gardelle to keep an eye on her. Yea, right. Falcons are not the only things flying in this book... lots of sparks!

I was so excited to finally get to read more in this series! This story is terrific with action and romance!!

Gardelle of the Hawkes has taken his niece to the human realm so she'll be safe and that's when Gardelle meets Lisa his niece's best friend.
Over the years Lisa gets under Gardelle's skin sometimes in a good way and sometimes not so much but he has to only see her as Sabrina's best friend...even when she turns 18 things become a little bit more difficult.
The Vultures are attacking. They need women for breeding and have found away to force it without finding a mate.
The club Lisa works for is about to become a location for an all out war and with Gardelle acting so strangely towards her Lisa doesn't understand.
All around Lisa they're secrets each one more shocking then the last...can she handle them all?!

Grardelle is a royal hawk warrior. Since the death of his sister he has spent his life rising his niece Sabrina in the human world but she is grown up now and mated to the future king of the Falcons. Still there is someone the still pulls him back to the human world Lisa. One of his Niece's friends. Ever since her 18th birthday it was like his body has flipped a switch and turned back on. But he has been fighting it for 7years after all she is too young for he is 100s of years old. But now she is in danger and that just is not happening.
Love the action, spice, and mystery in this great characters and I couldn't put it down.
I loved the bird shifters and their alpha attitude. It's a great series I am so happy Mandy Roth added to the series. Don't miss this fun read.

Enjoyable short read in this series. Wonder how long till next book.
It is a long time between books in this series lately, so much so I didn’t even know this book had been out a year.
Saw it when browsing my library and just had to read it.
Loved that Gardelle and Lisa finally get together but really worried about what the Vultures are up too.
Not a big fan of Lisa, never have been. Find her rude and brash, always inciting Sabrina to ignore her beliefs and feelings. The fact Lisa sleeps around doesn’t surprise me. Call it open sexuality all you want, I call her easy. Never had any type of real relationship. Lisa would have been a good mate for Lazar with their sexual histories.
Really loved the twisted family dynamics in this story.
Great having time with the others too. Good to see the girls are still capable of joining in the fun.

This is the story of Gardelle and Lisa
Gardelle is a Captain in the Hawke Kingdoms army. Lisa is his niece's best friend. The she-devil, the temptress. He has felt a pull to her since she was 18. After his niece meets her true mate and goes to live in the Bird Realm, he still visits Earth once a month to have dinner with Lisa. He is distracted as the Bird Realm borders are being attacked by Vultures, but when he learns that Lisa may be in trouble he immediately goes to protect her.
Some very sweet bits in the book, giving you a bit more depth to the overall story but it's still a novella so short and sweet.

We seem to have waited years for this book. But it was worth the very long wait!
Gardelle has spent the last 20 years sneaking in and out of the bird realm caring for his niece in the human realm, building a life and business. Since she was eighteen Lisa has called to his instincts, his niece's best friend, he thought himself "broken" to feel such things for her. When hearing of a threat to Lisa's safety he realises the truth. Read and enjoy!
Hope the next book isn't so long in coming, please Mandy?

I adore Mandy Roth's ability to write! She is so gifted at creating a paranormal world that makes you feel like you are there! I have to admit, it's been a while since I read the other books in the series. I felt like I missed out on some of the references to characters in other books, but that did not deter my overall ability to understand the story. It certainly could be read as a standalone. Mandy gives each character depth that makes you fall in love with them. I think only Mandy could make a bird shifter sexy!

Good continuation of seriex
Only complaints are that Lisa seems to be very sexually wild (hard to like a female who seems to be quite so open about casual sex with anyone she may find attractive), and that the author has said in the past that this is probably the last in the series. With several new possible new male characters such as the twin eagle brothers and one or two hawk shifters (Shelby's father and brother Sheldon for two), this series could continue through several more books. Especially since the war with the vultures has not yet been resolved.

The Kings of Prey are back and I'm so happy! This series was one of the first ones that I read by Ms. Roth and I have loved her writing since then. This time of hero is Gardelle and he is the best warrior and captain of the Royal Guard. His heroine is Lisa who is also the best friend of his niece. Gardelle has fought his feelings for Lisa for years until she is threatened by his mortal enemy, the Vultures. This is a short story but filled with a lot of action. Hopefully we will get another story in this series.

A perfect addition to the bird men!
It was so good to see a HEA for Lisa. She was in a storm of her own making when her bestie found her own mate. Lisa is a brash, sassy lady who needs the love and strength of Gardelle to center and ground her. With many friends and family, a fair amount of enemies and one or two unexpected surprises, these two finally become the mates they were fated to be and the HEA they were longing for. I can’t wait to see which bird man falls to fate, mate and love next!

My best friends uncle
I love this !! Gardelle has always wondered about Lisa she always seemed to bother him but she is so young and human. Now he realizes she is in jeopardy and will stop at nothing to keep her safe .
Lisa has always been drawn to Gardelle her best friends uncle but when he shows up at her work and tells her she is his ? WTH.
I love this and every one of these books makes me want some of the other men to get their books now

Another amazing book by and amazing author. I wish my mind worked like hers sometimes to get and keep all these characters in check with one another and not get them all jumbled up. If you have not read any of the other books in this series, 7 years later, you need to reach the Bird of Prey books in order and then start this one so you are not lost at what is happening. LOVED every single minute of this book and look forward to more.

Good Continuation of the Series
The King of Prey series is one of my favorites and Under His Wing is a good addition to the series. Gardelle has been one of the more intriguing characters and I'm happy he has his story. I really liked Lisa, who complements him well. As usual, there are some good laughs, good drama, and some hot times. All in all, I'm pretty happy with the newest KoP book. You can't go wrong with this series.

Gardelle and Lisa
Mandy I loved this story, but I wanted more. The scene where the men were gossiping was so funny. I was surprised to find out Lisa was a bird shifter. I didn't think that Gardelle would be able to handle the sex club, so I was surprised at how much he surprised me and Lisa. True love will help you to accept a lot of things. 😊😊 I hope you do write another book so I can learn more about Lisa and Gardelle once they are back in his realm.
