The man is a loser who breaks up with her and marries with other woman and AFTER 15 years (15 years FUCKING YEARS) searches for her to help him to get the children's custody that HE had with ANOTHER WOMAN? !!!! Those authors are getting INSANE ? !!!!!!

So many typos, and so dumb.
At the end the heroine moves into the house the hero shared with his wife for 7 years and the book ends with them having sex in the bed he used to share with his wife 😂😂 Authors please stop doing cheating and second chance romance in novella form, it never works

A sweet second chance romance. This is an enjoyable quick read. It is full of emotion, drama and romance. The different scenarios in the book were very realistic. Payton Holden is a kick@ss divorce attorney. She is well renown and successful. She is a partner in her Los Angeles firm. She has worked over ten years building her practice since she graduated from college. Way back when she was fourteen she started dating Connor Marsh. They were together for four years. When she was eighteen thinking everything was well between them, Connor breaks up with her and leaves the next day for the military. She never really got over the first love of her life. Fifteen years later she receives a voicemail from Connor asking for her help in getting custody of his two children while divorcing his wife. At first, she was not sure she would take the case, in the end she did. He still lived in Lake Tahoe where they both grew up. When she arrived and met up with Connor, she realized it would be harder than she imagined. She was attracted to him. Over the years he had grown from a boy to a man and he was still fine to look at. Payton was the consummate professional. She never let on what she truly felt. At the same time, Connor had known how successful Payton was and if he wanted to win his custody and divorce case, he needed the best. The best was Payton. Connor could see that Payton was still as beautiful as she was long ago and that she had grown into a charming and fascinating woman. He realized that things were uncomfortable between them, but he hoped that would change. Payton was straight with Connor that he had an uphill battle on his hands because of his wife's fabricated accusations. She told him to always believe, never lose hope and stay positive. Connor had a hard time with that. But with Payton's encouragement he felt he could do it. Would Connor win his court case? Will Payton and Connor have a second chance at romance? What of Connor's two children, will they accept a new person into their lives? If they got back together, would Connor and his children move to Los Angeles to be with her? Or would Payton give up everything she had worked for to move to Lake Tahoe? This was a delight to read. I received an Advanced Readers Copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the second chance romance between Payton and Connor. They were high school sweethearts until Connor broke up Payton when he decided to join the military. Payton went on to become a very successful divorce lawyer. Fifteen years later, Connor calls Payton for help with his divorce and getting custody of his two small children. Payton goes back home to help him and realizes she still has feelings for him. Payton knows she has to keep it professional because she doesn't want to be hurt again. When Connor's soon to be ex-wife brings abuse charges against Connor, Payton knows he could never hurt his kids and she will do anything to help him. Connor and Payton slowly become friends again and soon Payton gives into her attraction to Connor. They begin a relationship and Payton wonders what will happen when she has to return to her job. This was a good story. I really liked Connor and thought he really did love Payton and regrets leaving her. Good one.

I liked the book. The characters were nice people that had been together as teenagers but had broken off (he dumped her) because he didn't know how to deal with a long distance relationship while they were apart, she went to college and he went into the military. Now, 15 years later, he calls out of the blue and asks for her help. He's trying to get a divorce and his ex is fighting about the kids. He doesn't want to lose his kids. She's a well respected divorce lawyer and after the shock of hearing from him again, she agrees to help.
The characters were great, the reasons for what they did was perfectly understandable (I hate when I have to wonder why the character suddenly got stupid). That didn't happen here. They were in love, they meet again and they are still in love. Fast and easy read. (I voluntarily reviewed an ARC).

Payton and Connor where childhood sweethearts but when Connor was about to join the military he broke it off and broke her heart The reason that he never explained was that he didn't think it was fair to expect her to do a long distance romance at her age. Now she is one of the top divorce lawyers in the country and he needs her services. When he retired he married and has two young children he is divorcing his wife after finding her cheating and in revenge she is claiming he abused his children when these two meet again all the old feeling come to the surface will she be able to win his case for him and will he get a second chance when he explains his reasons for what he did.

He wishes things had been different between them but he has to have her help to be able to protect his children. But will she go anywhere near him? Can hearts be mended? When the passion between them has grown and not faded away, can they ignore this sizzling between them? A beautiful storyline with terrific characters by Ava Bloom that I really enjoyed and encourage you to read for yourselves. OMG! I love, love, love this thrilling, page turning, explosive read. Twists and turns abound with all the drama, fear, lies, deceit and betrayal. Talk about bringing the house down. This is one fast paced, action packed, heart pounding, nailbiting tale that really pulls your heartstrings hard. The characters and their personalities are so realistic, unique with qualities that balance out as they play off one another brilliantly. The scenes are so graphic and detailed it really pulls this little treasure together beautifully. Ava did an outstanding job bringing this read to life flawlessly. Quick read
This was a quick read about a father who's children were being withheld from him by his wife of 7years. Out of desperation, he calls Payton, a divorce lawyer and his high school sweetheart, hoping she could work a miracle for his kids. This book is promising, but needs serious editing. It is marred with incorrect names, words and confusing phrases. I liked the dual POV though their stories would overlap. I was liked the adult scenes were written in a way that you knew what happened but without unnecessary details. Not bad, but the editing issues was quite annoying. 2.5 stars

A wonderfully heartwrenching second chance romance that includes twists, betrayal, secrets, passion, sexual tension and chemistry, suspense and drama. It has a great cast of engaging secondary characters with sex, intrigue, and happy for now ending. Payton and Connor were together since they were fourteen breaking up when he joined the military. 15 years later she is the number on divorce lawyer and he calls upon her for her help keeping custody of his kids from his cheating wife. A wonderful short must read. I voluntarily reviewed this ARC.

This is an excellent second chance romance. The storyline is emotionally charged and well-written. The characters are developed with a strong female heroine and a sweet male Hero. These two were sweethearts but because of the issue of a long distance relationship, they broke up. There is drama, chemistry and eventually a HEA. I liked it.

An amazing second chance romance! This book is fantastic and brilliantly written; the writing is fluid and the story flows smoothly. It is an emotionally deep, passionate, and intriguing read! A fun fast pace, page-turner that is drama-filled, funny, and witty. An interesting storyline with ups and downs and surprise twists. The characters are sweet, deep, and perfect together. THis so could have been me 30 years ago. 2nd chances are always worth putting an effort into . . . even when the ending is death :(
Connor and Payton . . . young lovers split for 15 years then Payton gets a message from COnnor about being his attorney for his divorce . . . my situation was totally different but my heart went through everything hers did.

This is a sweet and short second chance love story. I loved the story of Payton, a lawyer, and Connor, an ex-military. Payton is a strong and sweet woman. Connor is an amazing father and he's sweet and handsome. They share a great chemistry. I enjoyed my reading. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

A different spin on a second chance romance. When Connor dumped Payton she thought her life was over and something broke within her heart. Years later a call out of the blue from Connor asking for her help with his divorce may give Payton the closure she never found. Can two broken soles find their way together? I really enjoyed this story and know you will find it fulfilling as well.

When I first read the blurb I was so excited to read this book. I really love second chance romance and this one is no exception.
Conner and Payton were so adorable and the kids as well. I really liked Payton her attitude about the past was good she knew how she felt now and once she said her piece she moved on I loved it.
This deserves so much more than 5 stars!!!
