Thirty-three-year-old Vanessa Morrison is a woman of God who's trying to live a life that's pleasing in the eyes of her Heavenly Father. However, since she's human, she's not exactly perfect. She's a sweet girl who'd give you the clothes off her back if you really need them, but her greatest flaw is her lack of a forgiving heart...and deep down inside she knows this. When a saved, handsome, and charming blast-from-her-past finds his way back into her life, will this negative aspect of her character ruin her chances to receive a happily-ever-after?

"Because Of Destiny" by Nikki Smith
My Speculation:
This was another excellent Christian read that this author presents very well to the reader featuring Vanessa Morrison and a once childhood friend named Calvin. After the death of Vanessa's brother Jason, life for Vanessa wasn't the same for her as she blamed Calvin for her brother's death. Vanessa held on to this feeling for many years. However, things changed after Calvin comes back to Durham, and he has been in an accident that was caused by Vanessa. This story will play on where some good will come out of all of this story, except a best friend, Sheena has other plans for her best friend, Vanessa. With Sheena being so jealous of Vanessa, it will not a surprise to me what craziness she would plan to do to get what she wanted. I don't want to give to much more away other than to say you will have to pick up 'Because of Destiny' to see how this story will end. What I particularly enjoyed about this story was how the main characters [Vanessa & Calvin] were deeply involved with doing what was right in the sight of God. That forgiveness, by the end of this story, was beautifully done because 'holding grudges will block one's blessings.'
You can't get anywhere in life holding grudges & you block your blessings. Glad Vanessa finally saw the light & didn't miss out on her good thing. I enjoyed this story & the message.
Vanessa blamed Calvin for her family heartache. She and Calvin had been like siblings while growing up. Years later a serious accident caused a new realization that her blame was misguided. In the process, jealousy and betrayal from another direction threatens another relationship. The story of forgiveness was threaded throughout for both love and friendship.
This was a good Christian read. It shows that you can still follow your faith and not give in to temptations even though your best friend is not saved. But it was messed up that her friend would treat her like that. Envy will really ruin your life. I don't know if I would have forgiven her so quickly.
This was a great book on forgiveness and the green eyed monster of jealousy. I enjoyed how the author gave the background of the characters childhood. It made for an interesting journey of friendship, family and faith. It also shows how desperate people do desperate things but God can work it out for the good.
Because of Destiny: A Christian Romance Story (Destiny and Faith Book2)
Excellent story about forgiveness, trust and faith. God is able to an unforgiving heart into forgiveness. Vanessa blamed her brother's best friend for encouraging him to enlist in the military. Unfortunately, her brother was killed in combat. God brought them back together and things ensued from there.
The messages of forgiveness comes through loud and clear! If one loves then they can forgive. The other lesson focus on the love of money, 1 Timothy 6:10. I began reading the author's work in 2021 and saw the author's maturity in writing grow. This series on "Destiny and Faith" is a powerful example of the growth.
I liked the plot and the storyline, but there were too many loose ends that weren't answered! What happened with the necklace that went missing? There was never any mention of it again. Did Sheena steal it and frame Vanessa? What happened to the two that were involved in the kidnapping? The closure wasn't well written.
This is 3rd book I read by Nikki Smith. I loved ❤ this book's storyline. I loved ❤ the Christian theme in this story. I loved ❤ Vanessa's character. I felt sorry for Vanessa. I loved ❤ the family 👨👩👧👧 scenes. I loved ❤ the ending. Awesome job Ms. Smith.
It was cute, kinda unrealistic. Sheena annoyed me. I loved me some Calvin! I sure got tired of the word "honey" though, geez. Is this apart of a series though? If so, I'm low key mad. Where's the other book?
