È lo pseudonimo scelto da Mila, figlia adottiva di Irene Adler, memorabile personaggio uscito dalla penna di Arthur Conan Doyle. Dalla madre, Mila sembra avere ereditato acume e audacia. Si è trasferita dagli Stati Uniti a Londra, dove ora conduce una vita all'insegna dell'avventura e del mistero.

No hay palabras para expresar lo que sentí al leer este libro, al fin todo el grupo se vuelve a reunir por una noble causa. En este libro se prueba mi teoría que la amistad no se mide en años, ya que aunque han estado separados por 50 años se siguen queriendo como cuando eran pequeños.

Mi aspettavo che, come spesso succede per i sequel, questo libro fosse un pessimo tentativo di resuscitare una storia conclusa già magnificamente (nel volume 12), invece sono rimasta piacevolmente sorpresa. Certo mi è piaciuto meno degli altri, anche perché è difficile scrivere bene un'ucronia come quella su cui si basa la trama, anche se il finale ha sistemato questo aspetto , ma credo che sia comunque venuto fuori un gran bel lavoro. Mila è una protagonista interessante, non ha, per ora, il carisma di Irene (e ha lo "svantaggio" di essere un personaggio completamente originale, al contrario degli altri), ma ha una caratterizzazione realistica e al tempo stesso accattivante, è stato bello vederla sviluppare e mettere in campo le proprie doti, e credo che mi affezionerò molto a lei con i prossimi libri. Irene, Sherlock e Lupin sono magnifici come sempre, e il vero motivo per cui non vedevo l'ora di leggere questa parte era vedere cosa avrebbe comportato per loro incontrarsi di nuovo dopo le strade inconciliabili che hanno preso da adulti. Non sono stata delusa. Le ombre del loro vecchio rapporto ci sono ancora, anche sotto ai rancori e alle fratture, e il modo in cui a poco a poco riescono almeno in parte a rimediare e ad agire uniti come un tempo è stato l'arco più soddisfacente di tutta la storia. La trama è da subito piena di tensione, e sorprendentemente brutale in svariati punti considerato che si tratta di un libro per un pubblico molto giovane, e prosegue pagina dopo pagina in un modo che tiene viva l'attenzione fino a un finale emozionante. Anche il contesto storico è ben trasmesso, sia attraverso i piccoli dettagli sia con i riferimenti ai grandi avvenimenti geopolitici. Si tratta insomma di un ritorno di fiamma, e anche se non credo che la seconda parte della serie mi appassionerà come la prima ho tutta l'intenzione di continuare fino alla fine.

Lo ammetto. Ero molto sospettosa di questa continuazione. Il fatto che l'azione si spostasse di cinquant'anni nel futuro. Che il narratore non fosse più Irene Adler, bensì la figlia adottiva di nome Mila.

Invece mi ha sorpreso. E ha fatto scendere le lacrimucce. Magari non la parte relativa al "mistero" da risolvere, ma l'approfondimento dei personaggi storici della serie ormai sessantenni. Hanno vissuto le loro vite e sono diventati ciò che di meglio poteva offrire il loro campo, eppure c'è ancora quel trauma subito da ragazzi, quando Irene è partita per l'America senza avvertire.

Si rivede uno Sherlock ancora più burbero del solito. Lupin un po' ingentilito ma che rimane sempre il mio preferito. E Irene, nelle parti di una madre un po' anzianotta di una ragazza di tredici anni.

I capitoli finali sono favolosi. E mi fanno venir ancora più voglia di continuare a leggere questa serie.

It satisfied me so much after the last two books that totally disappointed me. I mean, I still hate Irene, but a bit less. It's so funny but at the same time has a great plot with no holes. A great plot twist and a cliffhanger at the end. I can't wait to read the next one!

De manière subjective, j'ai bcp moins apprécié ce nouvel arc que l'ancien. Du point de vue de la fille adoptive d'irene. De manière objective, "l'enquête" (ou plutôt l'aventure car ici il n'y avait aucune enquête) était cool et changeait de d'habitude. Ce que j'ai apprécié dans le roman fut le retour du trio sherlock/lupin/irene après toutes leurs aventures de 20 à 60 ans. J'ai aussi bien aimé l'écriture de sherlock lupin et irene adulte, ça se rapprochait des romans de doyle et leblanc. Cependant c'est écrit du pdv d'une petite fille encore qui ressemble bcp à irene ce qui fait que j'ai l'impression de lire du réchauffé 😔 bref de mon humble avis la série aurait dû se terminer au tome précédent et il faut arrêter de capitaliser sur le séries qui marchent 😭

El miedo que yo tenía de leer este libro era muy real luego de como el final de la primera serie me había roto el corazón.

Aqui tenemos un rencuentro que me rompió. Un nuevo personaje que es Mila y un nuevo drama que incluye a la realeza de un país lejano .

Si tienen la chance de leer estos libros háganlo porque nunca se arrepentirán.

I read this one some time ago but forgot to post the review so here it is:

I've wanted to read this book for a long time but always delayed it, probably because it meant that the first part of the saga was over and a new chapter was about to start. After so many years I'm glad I finally did and have a lot of thoughts on this volume:

The trio's characterization is on point, they allign with what we had seen of them as children and what happened in the 50 years they were apart. You can see the damage Irene's leaving made in her friendship with the boys and I found the different ways they all dealt with it very realistic.
I was afraid I wouldn't like Mila after having Irene as a narrator but she ended up being great, you can see the influence Irene's had on her and I found it really sweet when Arsène commented on it. Speaking of him, I loved the multiple vulnerable talks he and Mila had troughout the story, and can only hope their relationship grows along with the books.

There's some references to the character's canons that I really apreciated, especially to "A Scandal in Bohemia" and the nameless mention of Clarisse who I'm assuming is the woman in the locket Arsène carries with him (I do find it interesting how Mila wonders if that's someone Arsène lost recently when in the canon she would have been dead for at least 35 years, but I guess they're writing her as Arsène's great love).

As always, there are a couple things that i disliked: the investigation/mission feels short and i wish the book was a little longer, Mila's constant remarks about how great Sherlock is were a bit annoying (even if i know she is young and idolizes the trio), and I don't really apreciate the narrative that Sherlock was/is in love with Irene (partly because I never saw their relationship as romantic but also because i think Irene and Arsène work better overall).
Part of me wishes these new books weren't written from Mila's point of view, having a child as a narrator again is a bit frustating and it robs us of a better look at the relationships between Irene, Arsène and Sherlock.
Mila's character also seems a bit "overpowered" and the constant remarks on how smart she is sound forced considering she's in the presence of three highly intelligent people who are much older and experienced than her. To top it off, I don't totally get why Sherlock's and Arsène's help was so necessary to the case, especially since Irene just hid information from them anyway, but what do I know.

Comme par hasard la fille que Irène adopte est en réalité liée à la famille du tsar de Russie et comme par hasard celui-ci et sa famille se font assassiné à l’exception de la seule personne avec qui Mila (la fille adoptive d’Irène) était devenue proche dans la famille.

J’ai pas aimé le fait que Mila ait même pas 13 ans et qu’elle soit déjà presque au même niveau de Sherlock Holmes (c’est pas trop crédible)

Mais sinon en vrai c’était pas trop mal, j’suis arrivé au bout du livre donc c’était cool 👍

J’ai moins aimé ce tome surtout parce que ce n’est plus pendant l’enfance d’Irene donc je trouve que ça dénature un peu l’idée 😅 en plus ce n’est plus elle qui écrit alors que j’adorais son style (même si elle est fictive 😂)
Par contre j’ai beaucoup aimé l’intrigue qui change vraiment ca fait un air nouveau, et la fin… c’est pas non plus une happy end c’est agréable dans ce genre de livre ! Et c’est ouvert j’ai vraiment hâte de lire la suite du coup

Bro this was everything I wanted it to be it was sooo gooddd and heartwarming and everything. Just *chefs kiss mwah*! The ending was also so good and left me wanting moreee😫 I just love lupin too much-
