Abhimanyu returns to his campus after a decade and is reliving the past through flash backs 😍

The story revolves around Abhimanyu who is in Love with Naina (first sight🤓) Both are poles apart wanting different things from life but when it comes to Love Abhi is head over heels into it (getting on the nerves kind 😃) while Naina is practical and focused & does not want to fall in love.

Will Abhi’s Leap of Faith bring him closer to Naina or leave him heartbroken forever?

The beginning of the book is promising has some beautiful moments and moving hindi couplets ❤️ Read this for reminiscing those college days 😁

I could just not connect with the fact of Abhi pursuing Naina relentlessly😞....How can you love someone by only seeing what you want & not respecting their space or choice? 🥺

Yes it’s a Love Story with College Romance,Campus Life, Friends, Placements, One Sided Love and coming to blows over a girl 😋😁

After my recent reads, this book was a light & refreshing read. A story of love & friendships, this book will remind you of your college & hostel days!
Love: a word that cannot be defined in exact terms, but can only be experienced by each person differently. Same is the case with Abhimanyu & Naina.
Abhimanyu falls in love with Naina at first sight, whereas Naina is sceptical about the concept of love itself! His friends Dev & Arush try to help him, but this will change the equation between their friendship too. Will Naina realise how much Abhimanyu loves her or will she keep him friendzoned? Even if Naina accepts & reciprocates his love, what does destiny have in store for them?
.
.
Abhimanyu, now a successful author returns to his college after almost a decade. This visit brings back memories of good old days. The story is narrated in retrospect & the pace is slow. But we do get to see the bonds of love & friendship grow which I thinks helps the reader put their lives & relations in a positive perspective.
.
.
The language is simple and effective. Author has used many Hindi dialogues which add a charm to the story. The characterization is good. The author has very well penned down the dynamics of love, friendship & destiny. And I enjoyed the mild comparison between modern day dating & old school love in the beginning of the story.
.
.
If you enjoy reading romance fiction & are looking for light yet touching story, this one is for you ❣️

Wow Wow this book is damn good it kept me hooked till it ends and I liked each and every chapters and the shayari which author had written at particular event in the book..

This is best love story I have read this year and I am fortunate that I read this book as It's like the author have written mine story with his pen as there are many similarities between me and the character abhimanyu as I believe I am like him.

I didn't find any chapter that is not worth reading and it is not cup of tea to write such a good book for this I appreciate the work and dedication of the author and I feel very touched to read this book and thank you sir for writing this book.

It's a page turner too ...

The story of the book happens in a engineering colleges where every student want to be placed in a good job after completing the degree but in that students lives a life that they can cherish or regret but they gets experience from it and same happens with the story of abhimanyu where they experience friendship and love.

The story of this book will really touch your heart and I can guarantee you this book will not disappoint you as it didn't disappointed me.

The story of the book is gripping and easy to read as the language is very lucid and narration of the story is very amazingly written.

💞💞Glimpse in a blink💞💞

Abhimanyu , after a decade he came back to his college where he lived a memorable part of his life and now he is here to address the new students of the college and also talks about his book as he is famous author of a book.

Abhimanyu wanders in college to relieve his memory how he first came in the college and how he met his first friend and how he saw her first and fell in love with her first sight and how he couldn't met her last day in the college.

I will not disclose anything as if I do I afraid I would write everything so people go grab this book and read this book to find the full story which touched my heart and made my day.

This is a college romance in early 2000s ,an era before the social media days. It is about a bunch of students who meet in college and pursue their studies , career, love interests and much more.

Abhimanyu , a well known writer, revisits his alma mater after a decade only to notice the changes in the campus and shudders. It was where he found the love of his life ,Naina. Abhimanyu been an impulsive guy proposes to his first love with help of his college buddies pretty soon than he should have had only to be turned down. He doesn't give up. He keeps of trying but fails everytime. On the other hand , Naina is sceptical about love and has her own reasons.

The backdrop of the plotline is an engineering college in Bengaluru and being an engineering undergraduate, this line :

"Engineering is not only about technical papers and scoring seventy percent but it is more about securing seventy percent in attendance."

hit a chord deep down there. When the world was not in this kind of shutdown I still remember pulling myself up from bed with utter difficulty and hurrying to college just to have the required days of attendance😂

The plot of the story is intriguing but I felt the pace was slow for my taste . The characters shared a deep connection. The bond between Abhi and his college buddies , Aarush and Dev was quite relatable and made me miss my college sweethearts even more .

The language was lucid and colloquial. Those teeny tiny hindi quotes(ofcourse written in English spelling) added to the narrative but I would have preferred the book without them.

Overall it was a calm and relatable read though predictable at times . After the penultimate chapter, my heart was wrenching but few pages down I was happy as a clam.

If you want to looking for something that can take you back to your college days then you can give it a shot.

And we walked away is a story of Abhimanyu and Naina. It's a story that will remind you of your college days. A saga of friendship, family and Love. Like a Perfect Bollywood movie. From being friend zoned to selfless Love, the author has wonderfully described this journey of Love.

The plot of the story is interesting. It's based on the college life and Love. The narration of the story is engaging, though at some places the story was a bit dragged. The theme like Love, friendship, relationship, jealousy is used by the author. One can easily relate to the story from the very first page and can connect all the characters.

The pace of the story is slow. The flow of the story is smooth. The way the author sequenced each and every event was amazing. The language used by the author is simple and easy. The writing style of the author is Lucid and gripping. The characters developed by the author were strong and connecting. Each of them had a vital role to play.

The drama, dialogues, fun, love, family and other elements are added by the author which connects the reader well. There are some punch lines and lines in Hindi that the author added makes the story more appealing.

Overall it's a good read with an interesting plot and crisp narration. It will take you back to your college days.

Book 87 Week 47
And We Walked Way by Subrat Saurabh
Rating 2/5

And We Walked Away is a book gifted by the author for review. It's a college romance based in early 2000s, reminiscent of pre social media days. It's about Abhimanyu and Naina and a bunch of other friends who meet in college and pursue their studies, career and love interests.

The story is mildly engaging and thoroughly predictable. The characters are unidimensional and dated. The protagonist is an egoistic and immature guy who doesn't understand consent, continues to pursue his crush despite numerous, firm nos. The women are shown to be super conservative and without any authority to take decisions. But, somehow, it all works out in the end.

The writing style is very colloquial, as if someone literally translated hindi. There are numerous insertions of shayari and life gyaan, which in my opinion, do not add value to the narrative. In addition, the book also suffers from poor copyediting.

Unfortunately, this book did not work for me in any aspect. Two stars for the effort. But a book I'd recommend skipping.

College life is invariably brimming with memories—love and hate, fun and frolic, sunshine and clouds. In such a nostalgic setting, Subrat Saurabh writes his book “And We Walked Away”. This book takes you back down the memory lane, and makes you relive your younger days.

The story commences with Abhimanyu, a bestselling author returning to his college to attend an Induction program. Even after more than a decade, when he looks around the buildings, the gardens and the people—he feels as if his memories are as fresh in his mind as if he went through them just the day before. Nostalgia and fondness make him reminisce about his life as a student. On the very first day of his college, he had crossed paths with a girl called Naina. Hailing from an extrovert, jolly and expressive background, Abhimanyu had still fallen in love with her, right at first sight. Quite contrary to his own personality, Naina was an introvert and conservative. She had her own bubble of beliefs, and he used to go by her days with a hint of innocence. The duo became friends but Abhimanyu’s special feelings for her had got unnoticed. Buoyed by support from his best buddies Aarush and Dev, Abhimanyu had ended up confessing his feelings towards Naina, only to meet a polite rejection. Naina respected his love, but wasn’t ready to acknowledge him as anything more than a close friend. Abhimanyu had been hurt and shattered, and he had persisted to woo her, without any change in Naina’s feelings towards him. But then he had found out that his friend Dev is in a relationship with Naina’s friend Nidhi, without him knowing anything about it. This disclosure breaks his heart and his relation with Dev had tumbled. Had Abhimanyu and Naina’s love story worked out? Had he and Dev been able to sort their misunderstandings and come to terms again?

The biggest questions that looms large from this book is: Which is more important, friendship or love? Taking us through a variety of shades of love, hate and jealousy; the author crafts a story that is perhaps able to resonate with each college student. He instills life-like qualities into his characters, making us visualize them vividly. He encompasses the conflict between loving someone and being loved—and this becomes the underlined aspect of the story. With eventful dramas, fun dialogues, intelligent use of colloquial diction, the book therefore achieves a well-rounded cinematic execution. The role of family in our lives and the typical middle-class mentality, gets dissolved into the storyline quite effortlessly, crowning it to be relatable and spicy. In all, “And We Walked Away” becomes a tide of nostalgia, with waves of unheard romantic feelings and lifelong friendships.

This is the love story of a relentless guy who fell in love with his classmate in college and cannot get over her, even after 10 years. The story is told from the present day scenario where the guy is now famous and is invited to his own college to give a lecture and that's when he gets all nostalgic and remembers his college days, his close friends, his first love and all those cherished moments that seem long time ago.

I have to admit that I felt a bit nostalgic myself while reading the segments focused on the college days jolly, the picnics, first love, the tease, silly fights and everything related. But the characters are not written to be likeable and came out as honest, rude lads.

It was a very short binge read for me and I'm still sticking with We Met For A Reason as the author's favorite.

This story is a simple love story with powerful events inside . The story is about Abhimanyu and the story starts with he coming to his college after a decade for delivering a motivational speech to freshers as a best selling Author and he starts thinking of his college days .

I could relate his college life with mine in many ways and that’s why I love this book . Abhimanyu falls in love with Naina , who is his class mate and story progresses with the attempts of Abhimanyu to talk with her , to be friends with her , propose her etc

This story has not only said about just love , but also about friendship and love towards family . The conversation with Abhimanyu’s grand father , and speech of Abhimanyu’s father during his retirement , the fight with his best friend Dev etc make this story unique from other stories .

The author has written well the scenes of proposal and how difficult it’s to make a girl fall in love with a guy , and the thoughts and emotions of Naina too . The happiness of Abhi when Naina comes to excursion , lunch and birthday party etc could be related to myself also .

I got a feel good read while reading this book. The title of the book justifies the story and you will come to know why it has named so . The language used is simple and I would recommend this book to all .

Overall my rating 4/5

If someone truly loves you, they won't tell you love stories, they will make a love story with you" and such love stories starts with a story to express the emotions the person is going through.

Here is such beautiful story of Abhimanyu and Naina, engineering students of reputed institute in Bangalore. For Abhimanyu it was love at first sight, the moment he saw Naina on the first day of college he fell for her and gradually his love grow stronger. On the other side Naina coming from conservative family never believed in love and she friendzoned him on his each proposal till the end of 3rd year of college. And one incident happened and she accepted his love. But Abhimanyu could not accept that love. The moment he was waiting for years has finally arrived but he could not accept it, why?

Sometimes people in true love are afraid of being accepted for wrong reason, was that the case with or something else?
Was that the end of the love story?

Abhimanyu returned to his college after 10 years, being a famous author of a Bestselling book now he was back in college as a guest lecturer to share his experiences. And there he meet Naina again after 10 years. So what will happen next? Do they both have the same feelings for each other? Their love story will have happy ending or again they will choose different paths?

Plot is not unique in the sense of storyline and it's being stretched a little but its written in an interesting way that can hook the reader till the end. Characterisation is constructive, loved the way author has portrayed the friendship of Abhimanyu, Aarush and Dev. I am bit disappointed with Naina's character, there had to be more focus of her thoughts and belief on love and relationship. Book title and over are perfect and beautifully designed.

If romance is your genre this book is for you to enjoy with a cup of tea and rains. It's 3.5⭐ for me!

Here our protagonist is Abhimanyu, a well known author returns to his engineering college after a decade. He remembers that everything in college has changed.
.
When he came to College reminds him his College days. How he spent his clg days with his best friends Aarush and Dev and how many times he proposed to a girl with the help of his friends. That girl name is Naina. Mostly she rejects, at last when she accepts, in they had breakup at the same time. What happened ? If they love each other, then why they breakup ? Do you think destiny is really there ? If u think it's there, What does destiny decided to them ?
.
How story is written ?
First chapter runs in present. From 2nd chapter to last before chapters it will run in past , clg days of our protagonist. last chapter runs in present then u will know , what destiny had planned for him.
.
Some lines from the book:
》“Kaun Kahta hai, Mohabbat ek baar hoti hai. Jab bhi nazar utha ke unhe dekhta hu, tab har baar hoti hai”.
》“Ho sake to tum thodi meri ho jao, Zara chain mile aur zara hum bhi muskurae”.
》“Jahan uske ekraar par meri umeed kaayam hai, Wahin mere umeed ne mera haath thama hua hai”.
》Life is not lived based on philosophies, its lived on facts. Let us accept it.
.
》Title and cover is apt for the book.
》Book has 16 chapters.
》From commencement to conclusion, every thing is well penned by author.
》There are quotes in this book. Which includes both Hindi and English. But I find hindi quotes more than English. I understand both language quotes. But for non hindi wont understand quotes, that's small negative. But that dont judges the book. Story is good.
》Overall its a good read.

“And We Walked Away” is a love story. But it is not that typical love story which you have read in lot many books where you find lots of Love-kiss-smooch-sex-dhoka and all other kind of masala. I don’t wish to compare it with any other love story but as I have read lot many, I end of comparing it with plenty.
Story of a middle class average yet extra ordinary -college going Abhimanyu will make you relate to yourself most of the places. The story don’t talk about Love but talks more about family values, traditions, middle class struggles, practical problems in college life affairs, pass time affairs and lot more in too much practical way. Every college going youngster should read this story to get the moral that love is not about being Hero and ditching family, but it is about accepting own world and fighting for own love as far as possible keeping family around as strength. Abhimanyu and Naina will explain you real meaning of love with this story and I bet you will strongly connect with either of them.
“And We Walked Away” not just talks about love but also beautifully and realistically talks about college life and lifelong friendship. Every incident and every chapter revives some memory and gives you some take away.
Author Subrat Saurabh has pour heart and soul in this story.
Pure, innocent, practical and realastic love story.
Must read.

And We Walked Away is a romantic fiction. This story will definitely takes the reader back to their college days , i was memorizing all the moment of college life while reading this book. Abhimanyu's life is really very interesting you will definitely love to know all about his life after reading the blurb. Abhimanyu now he is a successful well known bestselling author , revisit his college after an era as a chief guest to present a speech before the students of that colleges.Everything around the college made him nostalgic and some memories are in his mind like it happened just yesterday. He started reminiscing his past and thus we will visit his journey in the college and of course the most important phase of his life.
What is love ? This is really very complicated question. This book will definitely let you know the perfect answer of this question. Love story od Abhimanyu and Naina is the perfect story to know the affection towards love. Abimanyu expresses his love to Naina. Unfortunately, she hesitates to accept his proposal but promises to be a good friend. Hurt within, Abimanyu still wanted her to accept his love.

characterization is impressive, crystal clear ,
character mentioned in the book- Abhimanyu, Bhuwan, Mr. Shetty, Abhishek, Aftab, Raman, Aarush, Mr. Rane, Naina (Chinni), Dev, Miss Desai, Nidhi, Charu, Reema, Kaka, Sumit, Amit, Radhika, Neha, Babita, Verma Uncle, Meera, Dr. Shiva.
Plot is Romantic , touchy and passionate , flashback and about the family and beautifully designed scenes.
The story is set in early century when there was lack of social media and there was less of chatting and more of personal communication.
The narration is smooth but the book was slow paced. The language used by the author is easy and understandable. Though a little bit of editing is required but ignoring that, the book is a satisfactory read.
You can read this book to relive and cherish college days but do not expect extraordinary plot. Average rating story, must enjoy this story if you want to mesmerize your college life.

Blurb- Its the story of a boy named Abhimanyu. He is a student of an engineering college in Bangalore. On the very first day of his college, he saw a girl named Naina. It was like love at first sight for him. They became friends. Abhimanyu was an impulsive, stubborn and impatient guy. He proposed Naina again and again but every time she friendzoned him. Read further to know about their stories, college life and friendship.

My take- Its a nice tale of college life, friendship and also family life. I liked the loving. relationship of Abhimanyu with his family. I really liked the whole incident with his grandfather. Its very emotional. Every emotions are carved perfectly. We can feel everything as if we are watching a movie. Like every time, Abhimanyu proposes Naina immaturely, I became restless while reading. When every time Naina friendzoned him, I felt angry. Initially I felt story is taking routine path and average, but end is unexplainable. I loved the twist in the end. Nice plot. Nice writing. Easily understandable and Light read !!

'And We Walked Away' by Subrat Saurabh will definitely take you back to your college days and if you are still going to college you will relate the most with this novel. The title of the book and the cover of the book depicted two contradictory images in my mind. The blurb of the book will make you eager to know about Abhimanyu's life.
Abhimanyu, the main protagonist of the book revisits his college after years and he himself goes remembering the memories of him, the days he has spent in college. From his best friends to his love everything seemed to come in front of his eyes like a movie. Abhimanyu, Naina, Dev, and Aarush all four of them have their own and equal importance in the novel. The novel is well paced and the language is lucid. The story ended on a note which I did not expect but then this book proved to be a roller coaster ride of emotions.

Romance story with capsules of life lessons

Being in love and assuming to be in love are two different things. Get yourself corrected before it's too late.

Jealousy is the best parameter to judge someone's love. The best SI Unit.

If you want to judge what you have lost or gained over the years then you should return to a place from where you started, at least once in a lifetime.

----

There are many life tidbits and takeaways among the lines of this book. Many things to learn and relate to.

What is unique - revolves around a romance in the phase of four years of the engineering course. The boy belongs to the kind who just has eyes for and wants that one girl somehow. The girl belongs to the kind who would rather go ahead with someone of their parents' choice, rather than explore the terrains of love by themselves.

What could have been improved upon - there could have been other areas of focus as well, apart from the boy trying to have one girl, trying all the ways that could be thought of.

Abhimanyu, a well known author returns to his engineering college in bangalore after a decade and notices a lot of changes in the college over this period. It reminds him of how he met his ladylove, naina on the first day of college and fell in love with her at first sight.
The story was simple, yet interesting. It is a college life romance which many of us have witnessed. It defines the saga of friendship, Love and family. The storytellinng binds you with the book. Scenes are well written and humours are good.
What I liked - ❤️
1) Drama, fun and other elements are added by the author which connects with the readers well.
2) Hindi Punchlines and shayris are well written and they add as an added advantage to the story.
3) The writing is crisp and clear.
4) The author has used the jealousy as a parameter to check the other person's feeling.
5) Plot is good.. Characters are defined in depth.
6) The friends help adds as an advantage to the lead character.
Although it was a bit predictable. But you can read it for fun and u will love the shayri's!!

Book Name: And We Walked Away
Author Name: Subrat Saurabh
Format: Paperback
No of Pages: 188
Publisher: Notion Press (1st Ed- 2018)
Blurb: The blurb portion of the book is written vividly with highlighting the entire base of the plot clearly. Readers will get a specific idea about the story inside, which can be considered as a positive point, so it is good & compact I can say.
Cover: The front cover of the book is eye soothing as it contains the romantic aroma and it implies the theme of the book aptly. As per the genre of the book, it is catching indeed.
Title: The title of the book is touchy & thought provoking as well. Just because the storyline contains love, in this aspect this particular title is pretty much significant. Hence I consider this appropriate.
Language & narration: The language of the book is lucid enough to comprehend for any kind of reader. The narration of the book maintained a single and plain but uninterrupted flow till the end. Written in a ‘Diary style’ narrating style, it starts from 3rd person narrative and then changed to 1st person narrative and continued till the end. It is clearly strength of this book.
Plot: Author has developed a decent yet touching story from this romantic & love based plot. There are several sub plots (including the incidents with friend & family) as well that has made the base story potentially component and made the book worthy reading. This type of plot is termed as ‘Flashback’ plot and because it is a love story, that’s why it never lacks my attention throughout the journey. So, a well crafted story I must say.
Setting: Setting of the story is mainly in Bangalore. Beside this, it will cover Ranchi, Delhi & ‘Nandi Hills’ with time.
Characterization: Crystal characterization is to be considered as another positive point of the book. Author has portrayed every character (be it the protagonists, or any major / minor character) neatly justifying to their respective roles and all of them are significant as per the story needs. Let’s get familiar with the names of the character mentioned in the book- Abhimanyu, Bhuwan, Mr. Shetty, Abhishek, Aftab, Raman, Aarush, Mr. Rane, Naina (Chinni), Dev, Miss Desai, Nidhi, Charu, Reema, Kaka, Sumit, Amit, Radhika, Neha, Babita, Verma Uncle, Meera, Dr. Shiva.
Theme: Romance, Love, Friendship.
Story in a nutshell: The story revolves around the life of Abhimanyu and people around him because it is his story; his journey. The story starts at the present day when Abhimanyu (30), who, is now a successful, well known, popular bestselling author (and an engineer as well), returns to his Engineering college to attend a Induction Program, that too after a decade. Ever since crossing the entrance gate of the college, memories kept flowing on Abhimanyu’s mind. He noticed that a lots of changes happened in the college in those past 10 years. His mind brought him back to the old days of his college life when he himself was there as a student. Everything around the college made him nostalgic and some memories are in his mind like it happened just yesterday. He started reminiscing his past and thus we will visit his journey in the college and of course the most important phase of his life. Here we go-
Abhimanyu was a boy, hailing from Ranchi and from a stable and decent family background. He was good meritorious student, school topper, extrovert, jolly, and much likely frank with others. There’re other sides in his characteristics as well. After finishing his school life, he took admission in one of the top most reputed and prestigious college of Engineering in Bangalore. On the very first day of his college, he crossed paths with Naina. Naina was a beautiful girl with a charm of innocence in her personality; she was introvert type and quite reserved of a person. But she respects other’s feelings and she had her own point of view as an individual in respective matters (from the same Dept. of Abhimanyu). A head turner of the college with a determined mentality was Naina. Abhimanyu had fallen head over hills for her and he was in love with her deeply. He made two close buddies named Aarush & Dev in his college too, who were more like brother to him. After a little time, Abhimanyu made friendship with Naina, and his fondness, feelings towards Naina had not gone unnoticed by her. Actually, almost everyone around them was aware of Abhimanyu’s feelings towards Naina. With getting courage & support from his friends, he expressed his heart out in front of Naina. But Naina politely rejected him, because she was not a believer of love at all, and she was not having the mentality to be in a relationship with anyone, but respected and acknowledged his feelings and was accepted him as a close friend. It shattered Abhimanyu, (and hurt his male ego as well). But this was not the only time, with listening to the advice of his friends and also thinking about his grandfather’s life lessons, he persisted with all his efforts and left no stones unturned in trying to win her heart, but things did remain the same from her side every time he approaches her.
But then something happened, that brought separation between two brother-like friends. Abhimanyu & Dev parted with each other for a silly reason (well, that shouldn’t have had been any issues at all). Not only from Dev, but it affected the friendship bonding between Abhimanyu & Naina also…
What happened after that? What was the reason that two brothers had to part their ways? Why and how it affected the bonding between Abhimanyu & Naina? What was there to get hold of? Who was to blame and why things were getting complicated with time for Abhimanyu? Who supported him in those tough times? Will Abhimanyu & Dev ever get together again? Or two best friends parted permanently? Will Naina ever accept him as her lover or soulmate? Will Abhimanyu be able to make himself out of the misunderstandings? Will Naina & Abhimanyu be together or….they walked away forever…?
To get your answers, grab your copy now and dive in to this journey of love and friendship.
My Verdict: Author has beautifully penned down this saga of innocent love by writing his heart out. Each and every emotion was evident through the lines of the book. Love comes directly from the core of heart and it demands sacrifices as well. It needs persistent efforts and it never is in control of anyone. What is destined to you will surely be yours, with time, honesty and patience, sooner or later, but…only if it is destined to you then. Author’s reminiscence about his past days brought me back to my days of engineering. The days of college, friends, canteen, gossip, result’s excitement, campus interview, everything made me nostalgic. Hindi lines, Bollywood song lines, poetry lines and shayaris are the often in many places in the book appropriately. Sometimes the conversations (some part) was reminding me about the dialogues of old romantic bollywood films, Author anecdotes in the middle is written in bold italic to make them noticeable. Protagonist Abhimanyu’s thoughts were also written differently in the paragraphs. The shayaris or hindi lines were very touchy and romantic with deep meaning I admit. There are quite a lots of life lessons in the middle (especially the interaction with Grandfather touched me entirely). Light touch of humor was there that made the book a pleasing read. Author has balanced the phases between present day and past quite well connectively. The deep, genuine friendship bonding, the innocent love, the concern, the care, the brotherly support, the consistent effort, the dilemma, the ego, the inner thoughts, the hesitation, the misunderstandings, the pain, the desperation, the honesty, the touching lessons, the fun, struggle, each and everything was clearly evident in the book and all these elements made this touching plot turned into a story worthy reading. I liked this journey of Abhimanyu, Naina, Dev & Aarush completely. All the best to the author for his future endeavors.
Recommendation: I’d like to recommend this sweet touching story of love & friendship to every love readers, romance lovers and to everyone who is in fond of light emotional love story, especially teenagers will love this completely. Thank you.

A story of hope, in love, friendship and life

Ratings 4/5

This is a recommended one for all those who like and appreciate love stories , especially those circling around college days. A lot of readers will be able to relate and recall their own youthful days, where life circled around friends and studies.

What I liked about the book :

—> Doesn’t talk about just one couple or focus only on love. There are other couples involved and more importantly elements of other important relationships like family, friends, etc.
--> The title of the story which is not what you think at first. I totally loved how it made sense in the end, because I expected it to be a sad or open ending, but it turned out quite unexpected.
—> Though a light hearted read, gives back a lot to think about and learn from.

—> Gives an insight into college and hostel days, especially engineering colleges. I especially liked this part part because it was a nostalgia ride back to some of the best moments of my own life from my college days.
—> Teaches us to never give up on our hopes and dreams, be it about relationships or about our aims and ambitions on the professional front.

Quotable quotes :

—> You will always feel blessed if you reminisce your best memories.
—> Technology has connected us virtually, but it’s also the reason that we are apart evermore.
—> Everyone has that potential to chase a dream, it just needs a spark and a little bit of acceleration.
—> Being in love and assuming to be in love are two different things.
—> Life gives another chance to everyone, you just need to keep your eyes open.
—> If you want to judge what have you lost or gained over the years then you should return to a place from where you started, at least once in a lifetime.
—> You are influenced with what you see, what you read.
—> It’s not the relationship which creates the confusion, it’s the expectation behind a relationship which creates confusion and disappoints us.

Nostalogic Read

"Love is not only about acceptance it’s also about destiny"

We should enjoy our life. We can't taste our past it's bitter or happy once it has passed. Life can't take a diversion. We can only chew it nostalgically.
College days are the most colourful and memorable days for young adults. In that limited period, only guys can enjoy their life without any impediments. This novel brings the same situation in front of your eyes. This is an adequate example of young adults nowadays. Some situations make you recall your college days.

What would you do if the girl whom you have loved, proposed and got rejected has proposed to you?
Do you accept it with hurry burry or think about it?
Here the protagonist Abhimanyu is a writer who visits his college after a long time.
In this situation, you might have been encountering the changes right? Yes, the same Abhimanyu has done. Deliberately, he has slipped into the nostalgia of his college days.
How he has fallen in love with Naina at first sight?
How did he confess it to her with the help of his two friends?
How he Mets rejection all the time he confessed with her?
Did Dev, his friend also has an affair with Naina?
If means what happened in-between Abhimanyu and Dev?
Did they separate or reunited?
What mess happens between them?
In the meantime, Naina has proposed her love with Abhimanyu?
Did the efforts of Abhimanyu melt her heart?
Or it's her confession?
What is the reaction of Abhimanyu?
What is the twist waits for both's life? ....
To know the suspense give it a read.

The plot has built-in an occasional way. Narration is quite favourable. Modest language has used. The end of the novel makes the read-worthy. Slow phase moving dulls the mood. But mesmerises the sweet memories. Love, friendship, decision making, goodwill prevails through the characters. This read gives a lesson to young adults.

I recommend this book to all the youngsters

Thoughts

Sometimes life can be an entangled mess. In spite of that live it to the fullest lest it slips from your fingers like grains of sand. The damage caused by love is irreparable. You feel entrapped in a self-created cocoon surrounded by myriad emotions.

Plot

Abhimanyu falls head over heels in love with his classmate Naina. He confesses his love to her but she gives him a cold shoulder each time he tells her about his feelings. Flanked by his friends, Dev and Aarush who are constantly devising plans to bring them closer amid strenuous Engineering curriculum. Friends turn foes, Abhimanyu and Dev become closer to Naina and Nidhi respectively yet feel distant. Does the proximity bridge or grows wide apart? From this point, where will their destinies lead to? Read the book to find out.

Review and Rating

Narrative shifts between the past and the present. They are well balanced and are interspersed with couplets written in Hindi. The cover is alluring to say the least. The warmth exuded by the pleasant shades finds place in your heart.
I didn't like the main protagonist, Abhimanyu at all.He was portrayed to be egoistic and self-centred in this beginning even though he mended his ways later. But then, again, we, humans don't strive for perfection, rather we long for acceptance.

I really disliked the premise of the book . The same old story of boy-falls-for-a-beautiful-girl in an Engineering college was exploited. The characters didn't have a back story woven around them to make them feel real and convincing. There were many editorial errors that could have been handled diligently.

The fervent readers of the romance genre can give this one a try.

Book – And we walked away
Author – Subrat Saurabh

“And We Walked Away” is an amazing love story between Abhimanyu and Naina. I am a college student and the author has captured the essence of what and how college life exactly is. The relationship between Abhimanyu, the protagonist, and his friends was captured exactly like how a typical friendship between college students are. I loved the relationship between Abhimanyu and Naina and how it became more intense gradually. All Indian students will surely relate to this book in one way or the other i.e., the relationship between a boy and his parents, his friends, and of course last but not least his ‘Love at first sight’. Every college going students will have a feeling of nostalgia while reading this book.
The character development, setting, and the overall plotline of the book were exceptional.
I learned a lot of things from this book,
1. Never let ego get in the way of your relationships, like Aarush says in the book, if we let feed our ego, eventually we will all wind up alone.
2. Don’t give up hope, no matter how hard the circumstances are. I learned this from Abhi, coz he never let rejections pull him down and that’s an admirable quality everyone must possess.
3. If we have good friends, nothing will be impossible. The friendship between Abhi, Dev, Aarush, and Naina is the perfect example of how friends should be.
One of my favorite lines from the book is “It is easy to remember someone’s mistake, but if you forgive, then life can be easy.” This particular line made me understand that holding grudges and feeding our ego is one of the worst ways to live our life.
Finally, this book is one of the best books I have read this year and I absolutely love it and I highly recommend it.

Book : And we walked away
Author : Subrat Saurabh
Edition : Kindle
He is author of the best selling book ‘Kuch woh pal’ and it was his very first book.
The book ‘And we walked away’ is a love story of Abhimanyu and Naina. Two young Engineering college students who fell in love with each other and led a complicated relationship. However, more precisely saying the readers could witness how terrible and how one sided love stories could flourish better than the cozy, good going relations.
The story starts with the protagonist Abhimanyu who was invited for orientation programme as chief guest. Not only for being the former student, but also to reach to a level of best selling author he was invited.
As the story progress, we could see the bond of parents with their son, grandparents and friends. This generation will know how such kind of fights were solved, though it was happening just around 10 years back. The world was better without technology, may be, giving more importance to relationship, helping each other without abusing. Nowadays when people search for market value for what ever they do, those small helps, those expectations that we keep, unwillingness for a sacrifice. Abhimanyu story clearly proclaims us how ego could kill many auspicious bonds and moments! The ending wasn’t dissapointing, but you should know what happened with Naina!
The way of narration was simple and loved the Hindi sentences, the author added in between the contexts. One suggestion is that the author could give a translation for the Hindi sentences in the down part of each page. The book cover is simple and beautiful. Two lovers walking together in rain, rain is symbol of love and peace. Had a wonderful read! Highly recommended.

Starting from the cover of the book is an digital image of couples walking together under umbrellas on a rainy day towards the campus. The title of the book “And We Walked Away” gives the reader an absolute idea that it’s going to be a love story and perfectly justifies the plot.

The story starts with Abhimanyu, engineer cum bestselling author returns to the top most reputed and prestigious college of Engineering in Bangalore, after a decade as a Chief Guest to deliver a speech on fresher’s day. Everything around the college made him evocative and some memories are still fresh like it just happened yesterday and the story enters into a flashback of college days, first day of college with his grandfather and advice, friendship with Dev and Aarush and Love at first sight Naina, exam, farewell, campus placement and more. Abhimanyu confess his love with Naina but Naina consider him as a true friend nothing more than that; she is a girl who doesn’t believe in love before marriage. Will Abhimanyu will be able to convince Naina about love? To know more read the book,

Plot is basically simple nothing new to give, same old college romance with a touch friendship, but what makes it beautiful and unique is the way it is written. I feel the blurb should be short and crisp, an elaborated blurb explains the complete story in summary.

Language of the book is lucid and written in a simple way to comprehend for any kind of reader. The Hindi poetry in between the chapters that were included according to the situations are enough to touch readers’ heart. If the Hindi poetry were translated into English it was much better since everyone will not able to understand it.

Pace of the story is slow and predictable at times. The characters are well-developed and one can easily relate them. The narration is simple and engaging but some points, it seems dragged and stretched a bit too far.

Well, the book “And We Walked Away” by Subrat Saurabh contains a very interesting plot with a mixture of love, romance, college-life memories, affection, and attraction and whatnot. Initially, I thought that it's going to the like other ordinary love stories and love birds and, I found myself a bit correct but the story was really amazing. While reading you might yourself go back to the memories of your college life and can relate various other events mentioned in the book. And specifically, if you belong to “ENGINEERING”, then oh god that might hit you like wow.

Book: And We Walked Away
Author: Subrat Saurabh
Book Length: 200 pages
Genre: Romantic
.

There are some people who can stay in your heart but not in your life. The story takes you to college life and makes you nostalgic for the memories you had made.

The plotline if this book is settled in college romance. If you're in college or might have passed out you must correlate with the things that story depicts at some point. It might be your college crush, love story, friends, your mischiefs and many more.

The protagonist of the story is Abhimanyu who returns to his engineering college located in Banglore as a chief guest. He drove down to his college years and was deeply evocative with memories.

In his speech he speaks about Naina, Love at first sight on the very first day. Though it was from both side, Naina refused to listen her heart and everything went casually. The author narrates about how Abhimanyu with his friends tried to bring them together.

Naina was a girl who believed true love happens only after marriage. But she couldn't resist her feelings towards Abhimanyu for so long.

The story takes a turn when destiny comes in between. Many times even if we want something we don't get, and the thing we don't desire for is what written in our fate. This is the turning point where you'll realise the power of destiny and love.

The narration was lucid and characters were identified easily. This is gripping love story that definitely travels you to your college days. Grab now to unfold the norms!!!

BOOK : AND WE WALKED AWAY
AUTHOR : SUBRAT SAURABH
RATING: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5

It is truly said that true love always finds its way back and this book completely proved it. Aarush, Abhimanyu, Dev and Naina were four buddies who spent their college lives together and drew amazing memories. They enjoyed and also studied together. From the first time Abhimanyu saw Naina he found a spark in her and always dreamt his future with her. From the beginning to the end he confessed her feelings and proposed her a couple of times but always got friendzoned and returned with a dejected face. Though he always had a hope in destiny. He helped her in getting her placements too.Just after achieving her placements at the end of college days Naina confessed her feelings to Abhimanyu, but he was annoyed and with an angry face left the place.

Why did he leave with that ferocious expression?
What will happen next?
Will his belief in destiny really prove true or will he forget it all and move on?

For that go ahead and read this amazing book,"AND WE WALKED AWAY" by "SUBRAT SAURABH" and i am sure it will fascinate you the same way it did to me.
What an amazing book! The plot is so breathtaking and each page reveals something impressive.I would really want to appreciate the author for the brilliant narration of characters as it was the most attractive part of the book. The subtle title and the attractive cover dosent fail to make the readers read it again and again!
If you believe in love then this book is for you.
