3.8 stars. The title can be translated into 'Girl Shaped Music Box', and a lot of strange things are going on in the story... and I can see many of Takekuni Kitayama's trademark elements at work here: the End of the World as a backdrop, fairytale style setting, loner main characters, Impossible Crime, locked room murder mystery blah blah.
I like the world setting, I like how the group of MCs struggling to cope in a world where books, music and murder mystery novels are all banned and people who tried to hide them or possess them were going to get punished. I also like how this unusual world setting leads into a series of murder cases and how the MC (who is a government-appointed 'hunter' who was trained to hunt the 'forbidden items' and destroy them) got into the position of a detective and tried to solve the murder case. Well, the story is flawed in some way but I'll give out brownie points for creativity and the mind-fucking ending and the even more mind-fucking explanation of the locked room murder mystery () Mind=blown!
