Outstanding adventure!! Any thriller lovers definitely Need to be reading this series, as the twists and turns will keep you guessing and an assassin on Xanders' trail seems to be always ahead-knowing exactly what the Team is doing and where they are going!! I could not stop reading as one action triggered so many more.
We travel through several countries as Xander and Team desperately attempt to keep evil at bay. Wonderful characters, scenery that comes alive before us and emotional moments race through the story, keeping us shaken and enthralled as we witness real chemistry between Team members...
I received an ARC of this story from author Bradley Wright, who I thank for such a quality journey that it took me on, and I give my thoughts in this review hoping others will realize that a more explosive adventure can not be found! Grab this 5 STAR thriller and be ready for the time of your life!!!

Bradley Wright packed his latest Xander King novel, "Scourge," which is the fifth in the series, with everything a thriller needs. Perhaps the most ominous is the technology. In a random space, scientists and tech experts hurriedly develop and create a new product with a capability of performing tremendous good or bad, given who controls it. And since this is a Xander King novel, bad is the primary assumption. Xander is a rich kid. He's got it made. But he suffered tragedy early in his life and learned skills that have made him one of the better covert operatives in the literary genre. When his team encounters unexpected difficulties in what was expected to be a relatively routine operation, Xander must deal with the consequences. A fellow CIA agent working undercover gets outed as a result of his encounter gone wrong, and Xander and his team have to get her back. But this other group appears to be a step ahead at all times. Something doesn't mesh. Xander has to play catch up. And he's not happy. Wright includes a lot of plot twists, giving his readers a lot to digest. He develops a number of characters who don't reveal their motives right away. The technology Xander tries to get his hands on is scary, especially in the wrong hands. The action and intrigue keep going until the surprise ending. People get hurt. The stakes are high, so high that the bad guys might succeed in destabilizing the United States.

The Cambridge English Dictionary definition of “scourge” is someone or something that causes great suffering or a lot of trouble. In the case of this story that definition describes or hero and our villain.

The United States government is desperate. True evil is lurking and their only option to stop it is our hero Xander King.

The story takes us on an adventure through multiple countries. We experience the beauty of these countries, but are exposed to their underbelly.

We’re also seeing the amazing chemistry between Sam and Xander as they hunt for the bad guys. They’re one person short on this mission with Kyle getting formal training and recovering from the breakup with Sam.

At the heart of this story is good vs. evil and what extent some individuals will go to.

Bradley Wright has outdone himself with this book and look forward to many more adventures with Xander.

I am upset at Bradley's clear hatred for Sam and her happy ending. I don't understand for the life of me why he is so against her being happy. She is is my favorite character and it seems like she's the punching bag for Bradley Wright. I like the action and the overlying plot, but I hate that she never gets to be happy. I hate that she never gets her happy ending. Anyway, this book is a solid 4.0 because the plot was okay, but it was kinda short and, again, Sam didn't get her happy ending but neither did Xander so I suppose that makes it fair. Regardless, I did like the twist ending where Xander faked his death and became an agent in the shadows for the CIA. Would I recommend this book I'm not sure- I don't know if it's worth it to read this series when this is how it ends. There are better books with happier endings that contain the same amount of action and equivalent writing.

If you like thrilling, unexpected and heart pounding adventure this series is the one you do not want to miss!!

This book in the series is like riding down a mountain in a roller coaster with no brakes. I'm usually pretty good at figuring out what's going to happen next, but I wasn't even close this time. Non stop with totally unexpected twists and turns. And then the end of the book happened!! Bradley, you have outdone yourself, I'm already wondering when the next book will be ready. You left the door open for anything to be possible and I'm ready to keep following this amazing series.

Scourge Xander King Book 5

Are you kidding me!? I have loved every one of these books. The growth of the characters from book to book is leading them to stronger traits. Disappointed that you left Mary Hartsfield's sodium pentothal episodes unresolved though. "I had too much wine." It was a very important piece of the puzzle. Phoenix! Oh my god! I cried no!!!! I'm still devastated. The whole dynamic that you have built up with this cast of characters will change. Can't say I'm happy about that. I still will download the next book as soon as it's available cause hey, it's Xander, or wait no it's not...

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!

I have been profoundly influenced and inspired by the Xander King series. My wife loves listening to me share stories about these novels. Bradley is an artist and a true innovator and an exceptional writer. This story had so many twists and turns and so many runs I was literally engaged from start to finish! I deeply believe that these novels have a way of stretching your imagination and making you think deeply about our contemporary and cultural moment. Thank you Xander King or whatever your name will be soon! Can’t wait to see what happens next! :)

Xander’s toughest mission

Another life and death situation for Xander. Saving the world as we know it. Sometimes saves this large require sacrifices. He certainly gives it all here. Xander King leads a life every guy’s guy wants to live. No one can. But it’s certainly a thrill to read about it. The characters in this series are all fantastic in their own way. Beautiful people with heart, brains, money and dedication. Great action packed story, great fun to read, yet certainly quite a bitter end. Read this book. You will enjoy it.

Just Fantastic!!

There are just no words to describe exactly how good this story was. The writer gives us a spectacular ending, but we get an equally fantastic beinging. The writing is spot on from start to finish. I love that we get to see a little bit more of the human side of the gang and in Xander. I also feel just a little cheated because I think Xander and Sarah are just great together. Also I felt something was still unfinished with Sam and Kyle. Overall this was just one really good rollercoaster ride.

This book leaves me gasping - in shock. 😳😳 How could you Bradley Wright? The story keeps you turning pages, ready to strangle the author as he uses twists and turns to keep you guessing. Xander, Sam and Kyle are in a race to stop something, but they don’t know what, on what becomes their most confusing, perilous assignment yet. A fabulous addition, thoroughly enjoyed and now I am anxiously awaiting Xander’s next step. Well done, Bradley.

Another fantastic book, from a fantastic author! This book will keep you on your toes all the way through! Most books I can tell you the ending before I reach the last chapters, but With Bradley Wright you never know what is going to happen! All of his books are non stop action, and are so very hard to put down! These are must read if you like actions books! I guarantee that you will not be disappointed!

First off. The Xander King series rocks! If you like high octane action you'll definitely find in these books.
Xander and his team find themselves in Italy trying to figure out why a CIA agent was killed. As they begin to uncover the plot the intensity kicks up to a whole new level that finds not only his team fighting for their lives but threatens the existence of the United States.
Highly recommend this book!

Scourge. Bradley Wright

Nanobits. Delivered by nonobots. The ultimate weapon. No one is safe. Entire armies can be taken down in seconds if this technology falls into the wrong hands....it has. Xander King is in the race of his life to stop this sinister technology. Innocent people have already died. Countless others will. This is an amazing read. Non stop action. Enjoyed immensely!!

Bradley Wright's new book Scourge is a real thrill ride. The team is back together with a vital mission to accomplish. Who has time for a professional assassin on Xander's trail? Who is always one step ahead of the team? Time and technology are of the essence! I think this is Bradley's best plot yet.

Outstanding!

Mr Wright has done it again. Bradley really makes you feel like you are right there next to his characters in the environment that they are in. If it's near the Ocean, you can smell the salt. His plots are always way to real, and X and his team feel the same. Really looking forward to the next one!

And the best just keep coming

Right to the top. This was truly one of those books that once started it becomes attached to your mind and I, for one, did not put it down till I had reached the end. A truly amazing read. Thanks Bradley, may all your books just get better and better. Cannot wait to see how X combined the old with the new.

Scourge ( Like all the Xander King Series Books) is a great, fast paced read. Adventure and action on every page. My two biggest complaints are I read them too fast and then I can't wait for the next book to come out so I can devour it too. I have recommended this book and the entire series to many friends and family and all of them have loved them too.

Sorry,

Sorry but I have to be honest..this was the worst installment of this series. Something felt off and different throughout the story, it didnt have the same feel as the first 4 books. In short, due to direction the author chose I won't continue the series. It was fun while it lasted but the series was ruined for me with this book. What a shame!

A fun read

First star for the innovative threat.
Second star for the enjoyable characters.
Third star for the great locations, and description of Greece.
The action seems a bit contrived. Overall, enjoyable entertainment. Wouldn't compare with the Beads (Taylor and Thor) or Silva.

Good read but typical thriller

I enjoyed reading this one as I enjoy fictional thrillers. But lately, they all seem to have the same plot: the star is an ex-navy seal, is now part of the CIA and he and his team are trying to stop the bad guys from doing something evil. Now this one is different at the end. But I won't give it away. You'll have to read it for yourself.

I don't think it would be fair to review this book. I didn't even finish the first chapter. There was enough "language" and referred-to situations that I felt it would only get more so. I'd rather spend my reading time on books that I don't have to try to "overlook" things/words as I read. Much more enjoyable that way.

The Genuine Thriller Others Claim to Be!

Although there are a lot of good thrillers out there, I've never read one so excitingly addictive to make me continue reading to the end without stopping! My only criticism is that such exciting entertainment came to an end; wish it could keep going, maybe to 1,000 pages or more! Thank you Bradley Wright!

Not sure of my thoughts on this novel: I hadn’t read the first four books in the series and this appears to be the last.

Exciting at times and often unreal. Seemed to be a knock off of Mitch Rapp without all the skill/action that makes a super agent. I was looking for volume six, but that may not be in our future. Interesting novel, I plan to read the first four.

The ghost is born

Xander and Reign have to foil the threat created by a Greek family in the form of nanotechnology. To protect the President and country, he Sam, Sarah and the rest of the team have to work against numerous foes. He meets Dbie and she becomes invaluable to the team. Great story line.

One of the better fiction books I've read this year, Wright keeps the pages turning as Xander and his team take on an enemy you can't see and can't protect yourself from. The twists of the chase to the unexpected conclusion has you ready for the next book to come.

Good but not great

The book is good but not out of this world fantastic. It has a good storyline but there are some missed opportunities in terms of plot development...Not to mention some really poor choices for character names...
