The Magic of Friendship Snow is a heart warming tale about a little girl name Jojo trying to make some friends.
When the magic of snow gets used, friendship is formed! Tie this in with the gorgeous pictures, and you've got yourself a lovely little tale for picture book loving readers to devour.
I liked the message in this story about trust, loyalty and friendship. The storyline was quirky, and engaging. But sadly, I felt the illustrations lacked appeal for young children. They were small, and sometimes looked dull and cramped on the page.
The cover of this book is gorgeous! I wish I could experience it in a physical form, because the Kindle edition has the tiniest pictures. You can’t really enjoy them. I do wish children’s books would get a formatting upgrade.
But the story is lacking any magic. There’s lots of telling, but not much seeing. Overall, I found it underwhelming.
The Magic of Friendship Snow by Andi Vann is a delightful story about making friends and friendship itself. The illustrations are so sweet too! I wish real snow was as nice!
As a grandma and former homeschool teacher, I'm always on the lookout for interesting children's books. I was first drawn to this book by Andi Cann because of the colorful front cover. The message inside is even more awesome...so I knew I needed to review this book.
Some children have a harder time making new friends than others. The stress of a move can make things difficult even for more social kids. This book tells a story about a little girl who desperately wants to make friends but isn't sure how. She finds a snowman who talks to her about how to make friends, and then in turn she helps a boy who just moved to town to make some new friends. The book doesn't over-explain, but leaves room for parents/grandparents or a teacher to start a discussion about ways to make friends, what being a good friend means and ways to make new kids feel welcome.
The artwork in this book is beautiful! Each page has a colorful picture.
This book could have classroom uses as well as being perfect for story time at home. It teaches an important lesson and could be really helpful for shy kids. The story might even give more outgoing children ideas about how to befriend kids who are more reserved. Overall, it's just a nice story about how to be a friend and make friends.
Great book! It is available in both English and Spanish. I'm going to recommend it to my local library.
Not only is this book sweet but it has a great message to children. The magic of friendship can be found anywhere. The illustrations are colorful and delightful. Any child would love to have this book read to them!
The writing is a bit lacklustre from an adult perspective but would work for children who are, after all, the intended audience.
The story doesn't really tackle its chosen topic very thoroughly. Why won't the kitten be her friend from the beginning? She's hardly outrageously selfish. Is a child who's shy supposed to just go up to people and ask to be friends? How can she ask the snowman for advice in the summer? Etc etc etc.
Nitpicking aside, though, the illustrations are beautiful. So blooming beautiful.
The Magic of Friendship Snow shows young children how to make friends with a beautiful story about a lonely little girl named, JoJo. The illustrations are wonderful. The story is just at the right level of preschool children and this makes this an excellent book for a preschool teacher of parents of preschool age children.
Jojo didn’t have any friends. Mama duck had her ducklings. White Kitty was friends with the dragonflies. Even the birds at wintertime snuggled with one another. Jojo tried her best to be friends with different things. She was drawing pictures on the frosted windows when something outside caught her eye.
Will someone become her friend?
I did not receive any type of compensation for reading & reviewing this book. While I receive free books from publishers & authors, I am under no obligation to write a positive review, only an honest one.
A very awesome book cover, great hand drawn colored pictures, & proper font & writing style. A very well written children’s adventure story book. It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make another great children’s adventure movie, an animated cartoon, or better yet a mini TV series. There is no doubt in my mind this is a very easy rating of 5 stars.

This is a cute picture book that teaches elementary school age children a valuable lesson. Jojo is a young, shy girl who has difficulty making friends. She asks the animals around her and inanimate objects like a kite and a tree to be her friend. No one responds to her pleas until one day she spies a snowman outside her window. When Jojo asks him to be her friend, she is delighted when he says yes. She and the snowman named Puddles begin doing everything together. One day Puddles informs Jojo he will soon be leaving as the warm weather is approaching. She is sad but he assures her that he will return again. Puddles provides Jojo with the confidence to approach others and seek friendship. Jojo finds a boy named Ned who becomes her good friend. Then Ned moves away, but Jojo has learned a valuable lesson from Puddles that will help Ned and Jojo in their loneliness.
This is a charming book that teaches children the value of friendship and how to put the needs of others before their own. Highly recommended as a bedtime story, read aloud or beginning chapter book.
uthor Andi Cann has written a sweet, charming and very neat way of dealing with feelings, heartache, and friendships.
The interactions between a little girl named Jojo and a snowman named Puddles is so cute and shows just how meeting someone even thou they are so different than you can be precious. And that sometimes making and keeping friends can be hard. But you can learn how do be a good friend.
I enjoyed reading this magical friendship snow.
And so for those reasons above I will be giving this book my Breath of Life Book rating of:

The Magic of Friendship Snow is a gorgeously illustrated picture book about the difficulties of making a friend and having to say goodbye to a good friend. Even children can feel lonely at times. In this story, Jojo gets help from a snowman and ends up making a friend with a pet and a neighbor child. One day the neighbor has to move away. Saying goodbye can be sad, but Jojo passes on the magic of friendship snow to help her friend when he gets to the new place.
My daughter, Amanda (age 10), and I really enjoyed the illustrations and we think that this book teaches an important lesson about making friends. We feel that this is a wonderful story for boys and girls ages 5 to 8.
Jojo is a lonely little girl who decides to go out and find friends. She soon realizes it isn't always easy making friends. Then one day she meets a magical snowman who has many things to teach little Jojo about friendship.
What a sweet and positive book this is! I LOVED the adorable illustrations and the message of friendship in the story. Although I don't necessarily think this is a book meant just for the holidays, it's certainly a wonderful time of year to read it to the special child in your life. Lovely!
This is a sweet story about making friends with beautiful illustrations. The little girl wants the magic of friendship, just one good friend. JoJo was lonely and had no friends. Mama duck had her ducklings. White kitty had her dragonflies. She asked a kite to be her friend, but he flew away. She asked a tree, but he just stood there. Did she find a friend. She made a snow angel. What happened? Where is that glow coming from? You get to listen/read to find out. I'll tell you a secret. What the light does is magical!
I like that this is not a preachy book, it does not say anything about how to make friends, especially when the people you ask just ignore you, leaving room for discussion with parents, siblings, and even snow people. Andi does not list what makes a good friend, but at the end the most important qualities are mentioned in a conversation between two friends.
Enjoy, and remember to not lecture your youngsters when they ask for advice or help.
A sweet, simple story about friendship, wonderfully illustrated
Jojo is a little girl searching for a friend; but how do you become friends with somebody? Then she meets snowman Puddle and they become friends. Jojo is happy. Puddle explains her about the magical friendship snow and Jojo wins confidence to find new friends.
This is a lovely book that teaches the value of friendship. The illustrations are magnificent!
I enjoyed this simple fantasy about a friendship between a lonely child and a snowman, who teaches her how to make new friends. I loved the colorful picture illustrations and the feel of kindness the story shows. A young child who loves to be read to will like this book and might even remember the way of making friends as much as the beginner reader.
This is a cute picture book for winter. The pictures are lovely and the story was sweet. I think my only problem was how the girl could give the snowman to her human friend when it wasn't winter. But maybe I missed something. I read it just before bed and I was so sleepy. But nice to read that story of learning to be a friend.
Sometimes it’s hard to make friends… I loved how the little girls was so determined to make new friends and didn’t give up. With the help of a snowman, she learns the value of friendship, kindness, support and the ‘give and take’ that all good friends go though.
The illustrations are wonderful and compliment the story beautifully. Recommended for all seasons.
What a nice way to introduce children on the concept of how to be a good friend. Can’t wait to read it to my grandchildren! The pictures are full of beautiful color and add a lot to the story.
My son says his favorite things about the book are the friendship snow, the children's names, and that she met black kitty. Sweet story about how to be a good friend.
Teaches young children the meaning of friendship and overcoming loneliness. Kept my preschool age child engaged. Nice imagery. Happy it was on kindle unlimited.
Read this to your very little ones and older kids will surely enjoy reading it themselves. The story is short but packs a great point easy for every child to understand. The illustrations are lovely.
This is a wonderful story. The magic of winter can present so many opportunities. Andi Cann shows the importance of being a good friend and how it can fill any life with love. Grandparents and grandchildren alike will love this book.
