Stress Less—Trust More by Christian youth minister Rand Hummel offers a release for anyone who lives in a constant state of fight or flight. Problems with sin, time, relationships, energy, security, and spiritual maturity can all lead to stress and anxiety in life. If you live your life teetering between exploding in anger and running away in fear because of stress, Rand’s simple Scripture meditations challenge you to apply the words of God through personal Bible study so that your hope for victory over stress and anxiety can finally be realized.
Rand Hummel did a concise and thought provoking Bible study on how we learn to trust God. I thought it very applicable when he wrote about a virus affecting our lives. That was pre covid-19. How much more do we need to read this and think about the truths captured here. I loved what he wrote about watching the birds, learning from them. Well done, I will read again.
This was absolutely an excellent study on the Sermon on the Mount In Matthew 5-7. It is one I’ll go back to. Meekness was something that I pondered quite a bit after reading it, as well as God’s patience with us!
I have found Rand Hummel's books to be very valuable resources in the past, and this book definitely met my expectations. This book is Scripture filled, makes excellent points, is convicting and encouraging, and is broken up into 31 days of meditations on Bible verses, which makes it easy to use this resource as a daily study. Everyone struggles with stress, and many Christians need the encouragement to trust God more instead of trying to control everything themselves (including myself). I believe this Scripture centered book provides practical ways to deal with stress and fear, and I am definitely going to make this resource a permanent fixture in my library as well as recommending it to as many people as possible.
