Dangerously Exposed

Rate this book
Mari Reynolds sees the world through the filter of her camera’s lens. Working as a high fashion photographer she’s built her career on not giving in to the fashion industry’s demands of creating unattainable images of beauty. When Mari finds herself at the center of a scandal around her photos she seeks refuge in Barefoot Bay. A lifetime of building a career she’s proud of is threatened and she doesn’t know by who or why. While hiding out and hoping the storm blows over she finds herself drawn to a sexy stranger and for the first time, she doesn’t long to hide behind the safety of her camera.

Brett Williams, former Army Ranger, makes a living by never missing a detail so he can keep his high-profile security clients safe. That skill honed over years in the military and years in the security business is what alerted him to Mari standing on the beach, hiding behind her camera studying him through her telephoto lens. That keen attention to every detail is why he’s determined to find out what’s troubling Mari and keep her safe.

Mari has spent a lifetime keeping the world and any potential relationships at lens-length, using her camera as a buffer between her and the world. Brett finds himself suddenly beginning to crave the family roots that he sees forming all around him, but when things get hot will he be able to choose Mari over the loyalty he feels to a fellow Army Ranger on the wrong side of the law?

Angela Evans has been creating stories in her own imagination since she picked up her first book. In high school she remembers sneaking a copy of a romance novel off her mother’s book case and immediately fell in love with the story, the genre, and the idea of falling in love!

Angela is currently obsessed with the genre of romantic suspense. When she’s not writing new stories you can find her binge watching cop shows looking for inspiration for those creepy villains every suspense story needs.

Dangerously Exposed by Angela Evans. Mari is a fashion photographer who has a talent for finding the beauty of the fashion industry through her photos. As her photos get wrapped up in a scandal she retreats to Barefoot Bay. Unsure who or why someone is doing this to her she hopes to lay low and let it all pass over. A handsome stranger named Brett catches her eye. Yet she finds herself captivated by him so much she doesn't want to hide behind her camera lens. Brett, a former Special Forces turned security specialist. He into private upscale security and never misses anything when it comes to details. This is how he noticed Mari on the beach studying him through her camera's telephoto lens.

Mari kept everything in front of her camera lens. There was an attraction between the two of them. She was invited to a charity party which wasn't her cup of tea. She ran into Brett at the party because he had to go in place of someone else. They walk on the beach and he realized someone was watching them. He takes her back to his place. He falls for her but when one of his former military comrades shows up. He told her they want it back. She had a photo that should not have been taken. Brett's boss offers his comrade a job after he gets cleaned up. The romance between Brett and Mari unfolds.

My Review:
I like these little kindle world novellas. They provide a good dose of romantic suspense and romance...just enough to give a nice taste. Although they are small, they give a full story.

In this one, Mari is running from some sort of scandal to do with her photography business. She's run to Barefoot Bay. Paradise is a pretty good escape. There she meets Brett, a security guard who just so happens to have the credentials and friends to get to the core of her problem, something she hasn't been able to do on her own.

It was a quick, entertaining little read and the setting definitely makes for some great scenery for the reader's imagination...Brett swimming laps in the ocean? Oh yeah. I'd take photos too.

The story moves fast and as a result, there are some convenient timing situations that could only work in a fictional world, but overall this book provided me with a great couple of hours entertainment and I was happy to have read it.

I definitely recommend it.

I received a complimentary copy of this book in return for an honest review.

Another excellent romance/suspense by author Angela Evans! This book had me hooked right from the very first page. Photographer Mari Williams thought she could escape her problems and love by fleeing to Barefoot Bay. Former Army Ranger Brett Reynolds is so focused on keeping his security clients safe, that he's taken his eye off of love. When they discover each other on the shores of the beach, things heat up under the Florida sun. But as their romance kindles, danger mysteriously lingers like a footprint in the sand. The protagonists are well developed as characters, and I grew to truly care about the outcome - which is a happy one. But you'll have to read the book to discover how their story ends. Perfect for fans of romance, military romance, or suspense!

Enjoyed this book. Ms. Evans brings us back to Barefoot Bay with characters from her previous books
and other Barefoot Bay books. I loved that.

Mari was comfortable behind her camera lens. One day on the beach she caught the eye of one ex-army Ranger. Brett Williams was amazing. She found herself confiding in him with what was happening to her.

Brett knew Mari was hiding something. He’d find out what that was. When there walk on the beach went south he knew he needed to do something quick.

See what happens and buy the book!

In Barefoot Bay Kick off your shoes and fall in Love. That may have happened right here...

Super Sweet

I enjoyed this book very much. Just enough intrigue to lift it up and the photographer’s take on the industry photoshop and enhancement standards for fashion photography was a really nice bonus.
