I was gifted this book to read by a coworker. The version I read was an older edition which I believe is no longer discoverable, so perhaps this edition is better. The one I read was riddled with typos, however. And I am not sure I agree with the doctrine that anyone can prophesy through worship. Or perhaps we can, but I am not sure that we should... I think we have to tread lightly with prophesy...and make sure we are actually hearing from God and not just spouting out what we 'feel' through worship. Her newer edition may be different. I am unsure. But I personally would not recommend the read. Nevertheless, kudos to her for finishing the book, which is no easy feat!
This is an interesting book. "Prophetic worship is the voice of God being released through believers as we praise and worship the Lord." It releases the glory and power of God.
The author gives the history of the priests and minstrels being assigned by King David to minister in the Temple of God. This same purposes for worship are appropriate for today. We are not to sing about Jesus, but we are to sing to Him. As we study the Scripture and allow the Holy Spirit to move in our lives, then as we minister in song, leading others in worship, we will experience propheic worship.
The book made me think of the Charismatic movement of the 1960s and 70s.
The author has many good things to share about prophecy, especially prophetic singing to the Lord, whether in one's personal life or in the congregational worship setting.
The book needs a bit of proofreading for missed words, typos, etc. as there were a lot of those But other than that, it was an enjoyable read.
