Break the spirit of trauma, and get your life back!
God desires to release wholeness and healing! But often this healing is obstructed by scars from painful past experiences. This is the spirit of trauma. When the spirit of trauma is broken, healing can finally break through!
For several decades, the Holy Spirit has used Dr. Mike Hutchings in a supernatural way to bring healing to thousands who were bound by the spirit of trauma.
In this landmark book, Dr. Hutchings equips you to… You don’t have to suffer anymore. Jesus the Healer longs to set you free from trauma today!
I attended a God Heals PTSD healing conference in January of 2016 in Fortson, Ga. I had recently been released from my third hospital. I had sustained a moderate traumatic brain injury as a passenger in a T-boned accident. I am also a veteran and former law enforcement officer.
Stepping into a safe place was crucial for me at this point. I was used to working 96 + hours a week and now I just learned to walk again. I went nowhere by myself and always needed the support of a person. I was in the middle of purchasing a service dog to help with mobility and the following. I dealt with PTSD, military sexual trauma and brain injury now. Noise, people traffic, nuerofatigue, cognitive issues, memory loss, fear of man, fear of being a lone, fear of what was to come, fear in general.... consumed me. I'm sure my parents would say I'm leaving something out. I'm thankful that I can't remember anything else at the moment. :) On top of this I heard high pitch noises and couldn't handle being around children at all. It would set me off into a panic. The pain that would shoot through my head, felt like a knife slicing through it as well has hot fire too. Migraines were constant and I couldn't go a day without feeling pain shoot throughout my body.
Going into the service, I was already a follower of Jesus. I knew Him! I was hurting so much and was told by my brother & friend, that Dr. Mike Hutchings was sent by God for me. In faith, I stepped forward. I couldn't pay attention much, yet through the worship service, I began to feel Holy Spirit on me. I used my phone to record both days of the teaching and even the Saturday evening healing service. Dr. Mike prayed for me, and my healing began that night! Praise Jesus! Since then, I have been able to attend another one of the God Heals PTSD conferences and to give this testimony. Dr. Mike is correct, healing is a JOURNEY! Sometimes things are instantaneous, and sometimes it takes walking it out with a person. For me, shalom flooding my mind took precedence!
When Dr. Mike prayed for me, he used almost word for word of this book! Just reading it, I felt like I was in the room at one of his conferences. I am so excited to have it in a hard copy now! Over the past almost 7 years, I have come to lean in and dive back into the resources that he has given and that Papa has imparted to me through Dr. Mike. I know that through me, others have been set free and that others WILL continue to be! Isaiah 61:1-3 is the foundation building blocks of my life now!
I encourage ANYONE whether military / LEO / first responder or not....anyone who has gone through any type of trauma.....GET THIS BOOK!
Dr. Mike.....love you bunches for listening to Holy Spirit! I'm so honored to know you and have you continue to speak into my life! May Jesus continue to break chains, set captives free and deliver the broken hearted!
Read this book within a life group at church. Anyone who has really lived life has gone through trauma. While this book focuses a lot on PTSD with vets, all trauma is not only caused from war. Lots of testimonies of freedom from the pain of trauma. The last chapter is a long prayer you can use to pray with people who have had trauma.
I loved it . As someone who has lived in torment of PTSD and other mental health issues this is what I needed. Amen!! Suggest you read it . I was skeptical at first but it gripped me and was hard to stop reading . Tip sometimes setting it down and coming back makes you want to continue reading . It's amazing. God's will all the way .,
The power of healing prayer directed by the Holy Spirit really touched me. I would recommend this book to veterans, first responders, and trauma survivors.
A valuable resource for people of Christian faith from all walks of life. Particularly those who've experienced trauma, and those who work with people who've experienced trauma.
"The finished work of the cross gives human's access to God's covenant blessing of wholeness and completeness. God wants to heal our physical bodies and get us spiritually healed as well. He desires to heal every aspect of who we are."
Note: I picked this book up because it's become a standard recommendation for our church's prayer team. (I'm not on the prayer team, but find myself praying for people more and more often.)
Hutchings does a solid job of conveying the compatibility of neurological science and what I think one could broadly term 'pastoral care.' His focus encompasses the need for both physical and mental healing. And I appreciated that the author consistently turns the focus toward God's power and already-expressed will, rather than allowing us to be intimidated by our own individual (and very human) inadequacies.
"No one who declares Jesus Christ their Lord and Savior is disqualified from doing the very same things Peter and John did in Acts, which was to bring restoration and healing to a broken person."
The tone is compassionate and accessible--with practical prayer examples offered up regularly, along with supporting scripture. At the same time, it's never implied that this process is formulaic. Rather, this is a partnering with the Holy Spirit in addressing the specifics of an injury, illness, or 'soul wound.'
"In the gospel of Mark, Chapter 11, Jesus spoke to the fig tree that was not producing fruit, commanding it to dry up and die. Our prayer, in the name of Jesus, can accomplish the same thing."
There is a pretty strong emphasis on veterans and the PTSD that so many of them struggle with. But the principles still apply across the board.
This is one of those books where the title speaks volumes. Living with and through trauma can become a stronghold in a person's life. We learn to identify with affliction. Trauma can create bonds of good (finding this book) and bad (acting out our trauma and pain). Having someone, even in book form, speak faith, healing, and hope in one's life can, in my case, produce tangible forms of restoration and healing. I learned about this book via Sid Roth's program It's Supernatural. It is full of hope and insight mentally, physically, spiritually, and psychologically. The language is easy to comprehend and is free from clinical and/or overt medical terminology. We are prompted to ask ourselves, "What are we going to do with that trauma?" No matter the form whether it's PTSD from war, suicide, insanity, or alcoholism, there is hope. This book is freeing insight from the chains that bind us and torment us.
Excellent! A non-shaming approach to trauma for a believer. Science and scripture backed, he does a great job explaining the BASICS of trauma science, but also bringing it down to, you aren't broken, trauma is just a SOUL wound that has effected brain and body, and there is healing and freedom. Main focus here is true freedom, not sin, symptom, or behaviorial management. Testimonies and real life stories through out. Concludes with pages of a prayer over you (that you can read outloud over yourself) as well as step by step guided prayers you can pray for yourself and lead others through. Thurough, powerful, and yet easy to read and connect with.
The author shares impactful life experiences that provide a new-to-me perspective on the possibilities of healing from trauma. While the author's experience is mostly with veterans, the biblical application of healing applies to people living with the impacts of any kind of trauma. I finished this book inspired to share healing with those who currently live with trauma-induced limits in their lives, so they can experience the freedom God wants them to live with instead.
Me gustó la manera en que el autor presenta el poder de Dios en nuestro favor. Es valioso el enfoque en Jesús y no en el trauma a sanar. También destaca lo que significa conocer al Padre a través de Jesús
It’s a good informational book. I was hoping for more steps or practical solutions. It felt like the same thing I hear all the time. He spits out all the Christian jargon that most Christians know. But still a good work overall.
There is good information in the book about the signs and symptoms of PTSD, and how true peace and freedom in Christ can heal PTSD. However, I disagree with the charismatic stance of the author, hence the reason I gave the book a three-star rating.
The writer focused a lot on PTSD. At a certain point it got a bit repetitive. He did touch on a few things that sparked my interest. I’d recommend this to those who are going through trauma and ptsd.
I read the book from cover to cover over an evening and morning. It was as if the prayers were written just for me. I thank my counselor for recommending this freedom making book. I am free indeed as a result. Yes it's a journey but I have started today. Amen.
This book entails the love that God and Jesus Christ has for you. It brings you to the depths of healing. All things are possible through Christ who strengthens me.
