TW: RAPE
i was artbaited into reading this!!!!! this is a love story, pure and simple. the background such as court intrigue, war and so on are strictly decoration only. the main focus is dongfang hao yue’s pursuit of beitang yao yue. while i do think that their love is cute, i cannot accept that there was rape between the main couple and that it happened during their first time. no matter how the author tries to justify it by saying yao yue already liked hao yue before it, rape is rape and yao yue wasn’t fully consenting.
i also thought that a lot of the plot was left in the air, so to speak but apparently this novel is part of a series so i suppose the author was leaving space for them to elaborate further in other novels.
the only thing i truly enjoyed was the extras - those were adorable!
