With the threat of volcanic eruption behind them, Sky Fletcher and Dr. Marcos Vega couldn’t be happier. Together they travel to Hawaii, where Marcos’s newfound geological celebrity has earned him a guest teaching residency. With his intimidating, rugged good looks and sweeping tattoos, he causes a stir at the Institute that is much more than intellectual. What starts out as a romantic getaway quickly devolves as Marcos works longer hours and Sky finds herself alone, left to wander the island.
Sky soon meets Bane, a Hawaiian born and bred surfer. Where she is tightly wound and focused, Bane is loose, relaxed, and fun. Sky finds herself being drawn to the younger man, whose natural openness is almost as intriguing as his tanned, chiseled frame and lopsided grin.
Relationships are tested, boundaries strain, and Sky finds herself in uncharted waters, both off the coast and in her heart.
