This was a book our Physician Moms Cook group recently chose to cook through. We are all busy working moms at different stages of life but all feel it important to feed our families. Personally I cooked at least 2 recipes from each section/section of the book. The overwhelming conclusion was that the the instructions on how long to cook each food in an instant pot were correct. BUT, what really makes one recipe stand out amongst others are the layers of flavors and this is where we all felt the book was really lacking.
No pictures. Cookbook without pictures is very uninspiring. Also hard to tell if these are kitchen tested recipes or just a bunch of stuff that was made up.
This is a very no-frills recipe book. Basically, if you have a recipe you want to make in the Instant Pot, you can find a variation of it here, so it's a great resource.
Good cookbook for the instant pot. Easy read with lots of recipes. I like the way the recipes are organized. It would have been nice to have more images.
All the recipes are using one ingredient then the next few recipes are basically the same thing with another ingredient added to make it seem like it’s a new one. I’m thankful I didn’t buy the book! I could have written this book myself.
This is the WORST Instant Pot cookbook I've come across, since buying my Instant Pot. Every recipe I've tried has either turned out like crap or I've had to fix it before even starting. Soft boiled eggs were fully hard boiled. Mexican rice wouldn't even cook, because it kept giving me a burn error because she said to use 2 cups of rice and 2 1/3 cups of broth. That's no where near enough liquid, even with the 1 cup of salsa (are you even accounting for all the different types of salsa?!? Do you have ANY actual cooking experience, at all?!?) Not to mention she makes no instructions on how I'm to measure said rice. Am I supposed to assume she means for me to use a standard measuring cup or the one that comes with the Instant Pot? I'm so angry because this, obviously uneducated in cooking, self published, "author" almost ruined my dinner. Luckily, I do know how to cook and was able to save my family's dinner.
I have to admit I do not cook. My husband does at least. I wanted to start learning and had heard rave reviews about the Instant Pot so decided buying one was a good way to start. I just made my first recipe..Very Tender Pot Roast.. I didn't have wine on hand as recipe states but I'm happy to say I followed everything else and it turned out fall off the bone tender and even my husband loves it:) I've already bookmarked several recipes and am excited to cook for a change! The title is true. I'm a Beginner and appreciate the easy to follow instructions. Thank you for making me feel like I really can learn to make some wonderful meals and desserts.
The recipes had ingredients I didn't reconize and it offers no explanation. The rice section is pretty repetitive. There are no pictures of what you results should look like. I'm returning this with out using the recipes. Once again, how can I cook something new if I do not know what it should look like!
As this is going to sit on my iPad for a good long while, I will say that it has a long list of many many recipes. Probably as many as you could imagine but I still need to adjust them to my InstantPot which doesn't have as many variables as the book describes.
There are so many great recipes that my family will enjoy. Also can’t wait to try the many vegetable recipes for healthy lunches through the week. Easy to follow and times include prep and releasing the pressure.
doesn't list equipment needed until you read through the whole recipe and even then doesn't give information about size of equipment (like ramekins) or how many you would need, and how what a serving size actually is.
The recipes are ok but there are NO PICTURES of any of the prepared foods. I would like to see if my pressure cooked meals look like what they are supposed to!
Finally...a decent selection of Instant Pit recipes that don't rely on pasta or potatoes!! I like it for the variety and the ability to try and support some healthier eating options.
Got my first pressure cooker for Christmas and was a bit overwhelmed on how to start learning about cooking with it. This cookbook helped my learning curve shoot right up.
