Another home-run from J. Kiakas. It's hard to really describe these novellas, because there's so much poetry woven into them. It's more like going through an emotional journey than it is like reading a standard adventure story - though there is more than enough adventure to sate the most consummate fantasy reader.
I love this series so much that I am going to feature it on my podcast, Take a Closer Book. So I will save my full review and analysis for that!
I really enjoyed this little novella. It's packed with so much emotion as a little book, especially the drudgery of real loneliness. I appreciated the retelling of a classic romance princess rescued by a knight story as a poly & queer version. It'd be perfect if there were a little more description for ambience.
